Eh, was in Las Vegas with an old college buddy. Spent more money than I could really afford to(and I didn't even gamble, but that city sucks you dry in many ways), but had a great time nonetheless.

Hey, wtf? Lol, no, CMJ is just a cool guy and fun to converse with on here.

Ugg, I hope that wasn't a reference to the legal prositution in Vegas because that sounds BAD. Read it again. I won't even go there. ;)

Prostitution? No. :p
Strip Clubs? No, not this time.
Overpriced food - check.
Overpriced on everything - check.
We went to a eating establishment and they charged for refills on iced tea(actually that place raked us over the coals with charges, but that's another story). Now it's about a 50/50 thing for restaraunts to charge for refills on soft drinks or whatever, but I've NEVER once seen refilled tea getting charged.
I couldn't believe how much ho-hum stuff got their prices jacked up. Heck it's not like I live in suburbia anymore. LA prices are kinda on the higher end normally, but most of Vegas was just unreal.

Yeah, I've been there three times, we always blow a lot of cash. Those hookers keep getting more expensive! I swear, inflation among them is way higher than the national average inflation. You wouldn't believe what they charge for an hour anymore. It's robbery!
lol, j/k
The room we have stayed in twice at the Bellagio, the presidential suite, is $900 per night! Haha, it's great though, four and a half bathrooms! So four full bathrooms and an extra one with just a toilet. That's more than most people's houses. :D
I got the last laugh when we went last time, though. I stole a Heineken from the minibar, drunk it, filled it back with water, closed the lid, and hid it behind another perfectly intact one. They never charged us for that. Otherwise it would have been like $7.

WB CMJ. I am surprised Vegas is so much now, I remembered reading how the prices on food was reasonable, but I guess that has changed now.

You guys suck.
I have been UP all night, thus why I am up now. I have been doing homework off and on all night (off when I was eating, surfing CNN or ESPN, or this forum, and on most of the time).
I had to edit 14 pages of ethics essays, write another 2, finish writing and editing two WR201 articles (including the comic book one I posted), and a film journal during the day yesterday, 7 pages, plus I did some of my own film work, too, even though I really didn't have time.
I felt tired/exhausted/sick all of yesterday for some reason, so I got up at 6:30 (after going to bed at 10:40) and then I took a "nap" from noon to 5:50.
I will go from 5:50 on Wednesday through almost that same time on Thursday before sleeping. I honestly can't take more than 19 hours awake in a row before going frickin' nuts, but I have no choice. End of the term work, so I decided I'd stay up all night when I realized I'd only get 1 to 1.5 hours of sleep anyway.
The thing is, if I tried sleeping for an hour with how I feel, I might very well not wake up and miss the classes. That would be a problem because 30% of my WR201 grade is on these two papers I turn in today, 25% of my ethics grade is on the 16 pages of essays, and 30% of my film grade is from the essays basically too. Actually, it's more complicated than that because no film journal = no grade whatsoever. You just have to have that in.
So I can't take the chance that on the term's most important day I sleep through class.
After this, though, I have 3 finals next week (M-W-F), all not requiring too much studying at all, and I'm done, ready to go to Mexico on spring break! Yay.

four and a half bathrooms
Why do you need four bathrooms? We have two and a half and are going to get a full third one sometime in the near future, and we don't even use the 2 and a half we have as it is.
JonathanLB

Are you serious?
Our house has so many bathrooms I don't even know how many it has! It is well above 10, and obviously they are needed or they wouldn't have been built.
Every room must have a bathroom if it's really going to be a complete room, I mean, bedroom, that is.
There are no bathrooms in the attic (perhaps needless to say). On the floor below, the living floor, there is a bathroom in the staff apartment (of course necessary because it is for a live-in butler and is like a separate, locked-off apartment), my room has a bathroom, my sister's room has a bathroom, and my parent's room has two bathrooms attached to it. In addition, across from my room is a guest room, which has its own bathroom (of course, otherwise where would the guest go? Into my sister's room?! lol, no).
On the "main" floor, the entry floor, there is a bathroom in the mud room off to the side of the swimming pool, appropriate for changing before going swimming or after and not getting water all over the house in so doing (because there is tile on the entire mud room floor). That one is a full shower and toilet. There is a bathroom off the kitchen for general use. There is a bathroom off the living room as well. Both of the last two are toilets only, and sinks, duh. Downstairs, there is one bathroom off to the side of the pool/gaming room (home theater room connected) and I'm pretty sure it has a shower and bath, too, but I've honestly never used it for that. Dang, lol, I think it does though. Then there is another full bathroom off the guest bedroom downstairs, which is just off the gaming room too, out the hall.
Additionally, there is a bathroom in a maintenance building off the main house for employees to use who are gardeners or landscapers or contractors or whatever.
I guess that leaves somewhere around 12 bathrooms total, full or half. Maybe I missed something, but I don't think so. I only learned about the bathroom off to the side of the living room about a year after I moved into the house, haha. I honestly never used it before and never much went into the living room, so I found it and was like, "WOW there is a bathroom here?! Sweet!"
As for the Bellagio, 4.5 bathrooms are not really needed. You really need 3, though. The setup for the presidential suite has two rooms attached to a living area. When we go, it's 6 people -- my family (4) plus a friend of mine and a friend of my sister's. So that leaves maybe my friend and I sleeping in the main area, which sucks, or we get the room, depending, and we use the bathroom in the common area, which does not have a shower or bath (thus we have to use the one in the room my sister is in for instance). So wany way you cut it, it needs 2.5, I suppose, a toilet in the main area for us at night, and one full bathroom in each room. Instead, it has two full bathrooms in each room, which is just even more convenient. :)
But yes, at my house, every person who lives there would have to be using 3 bathrooms AT THE SAME TIME for them all to be full. ;)

Well you have to remember most of us are not as fortunate as you Jonathan. You stayed in a 900 dollar a night suite. My friend and I got a deal for a regular room at the Luxor for seventy five a night...which was still ALOT for yours truly.
The largest house I ever lived in only has 2 1/2 bathrooms, and it was a good sized residence.
JonathanLB
Mar 13th, 2003, 10:59:06 AM
The smallest I can ever remember living in had 7 bathrooms and that was an 8,000 square foot house, but apparently before I was 3, and before I remember anything, I lived in a dinky 4,000 sq. foot house. ;) Haha, I'm being sarcastic, 4,000 is quite good, I realize. *Goes to put on flame vest, then realizes it's been on all along... hmm...*
$75 a night?! Holy crap that's cheap! I've never stayed at the Luxor though I thought it might be cool. I just thought it would be neat to stay at them all. I've only ever stayed at the Bellagio (twice) and the Vennetian, which is the most boring of them all probably, I mean of the main ones. Anything off the strip is really low class crap for the most part. I'm talking about the ones that are like (seriously), "Two free porn rentals for each night you stay!" I saw a sign like that.
If you go to Vegas, you gotta stay at the Bellagio, the Vennetian, the Luxor, the Mirage, the MGM Grand, the Paris place, or one of those other big ones like that.
I think, though, that I could be perfectly happy just staying at the Bellagio each time. I love it there.
I honestly think Vegas is so fun, but it's nice because honestly if you stay there for a week, it's too long, but 4 days is about perfect. I could go there 4 days ever year and be happy about that. When we went twice in a year, that was not so good. I mean the second time, we honestly felt we had done everything the first time, because we kept really busy, but we found a lot more on the third time and realized we were kinda being lazy the second trip, lol.
I'm going back, hopefully with Bryan I would assume, for spring break next year when I am officially 21 -- and that'll be the best trip yet. I'm sick of this no drinking crap and this can't-go-into-the-casino-and-gamble nonsense and all that other useless BS. :)
It'll be really fun going to Vegas next spring break. We decided then instead of x-mas break because I just think it's a better time. Ok, honestly, there'll be more hot girls there during spring break. Good enough reason for me.
I have to admit the third time we went to Vegas, it was kind of the most annoying. Well, no, it was the most annoying. Bryan was on the phone with Stacey twice a day, Stacey made a big deal about the fact that their "6 month anniversary" (ANNIVERSARY MEANS YEAR PEOPLE, NOT MONTH!!!! JESUS CHRIST, lol) fell on a day he was gone. Then all I got to hear about was how wonderful it is finally having a girlfriend, blah blah etc, this and that, story about this, story about that. Then if I ever said, "Oh my god, check out that girl over there," he would be like, "Wow I didn't even see her. I guess now that I'm with Stacey I don't notice other girls."
Talk about no fun! Man, he used to be just as bad as I was, making excuses to steal glances at various girls and we'd both laugh if they looked back or whatever, that was hella funny, good stories, and now he's all whipped. It's not that I don't envy him, because Stacey is great, but it is less fun. :\
It's like he is not part of the club anymore, our ranks have been reduced, lol.
Oh the one I really hate is, "Well you'd understand if you had a girlfriend," or "Well once you... (whatever)... then you'll understand." Gee, thanks for the patronizing attitude/painful reminder, lol.
He doesn't do that as much anymore, in fact almost never, but still. I know plenty of other guys who have girlfriends and have no problem saying, "Heck yeah, Kate Hudson is frickin' hot." Bryan wouldn't say anything like that for about a year after meeting Stacey. Now, he will sometimes, but not volutunarily. If you happen to be on the subject.
The other day he said, "If Halle Berry came up to me and said, 'I want to go out with you,' I'd be like, 'goodbye, Stacey!'" I know he was joking, but I mumbled, "Ha, I don't think so, Stacey is way better looking than Halle Berry [I am not a fan]." I was glad he didn't take that the wrong way. He was just like, "Wow, that is like the biggest compliment, you should tell Stacey that." I laughed and said, "I don't think so." lol

That's like totally standard here.

We got a good deal on the room because of the days we were there. It's usually almost twice what we paid. There are a few places off the main strip that are worth a look. I really liked the Hard Rock for example..good place. Not overly done, but it stuck to it's theme well.
It's kind of hard for me to pick a favorite since I liked several of them for different reasons.

"I really liked the Hard Rock for example..good place"
Yeah, the Hard Rock is awesome.
How about that place, I can't remember the name, but it's a ways off the strip and there are the lights above the entire street, which is covered, I mean like thousands (millions?) of small lights that form that light show and whatnot. We went there last time, really awesome. Plus that's where Angel was filming and I got to be an extra on that. Err, ok, I didn't get to be an extra, but I made myself one and pretended that I was part of their cast. They never noticed. They just told everyone who wasn't an extra to step away and Bryan and I acted like we were. They didn't know any better. We stayed there for every take for like 2 hours. Plus one time I ruined a shot by walking in front of the camera, LOL, and I'm pretty sure that is why the director yelled cut. Nonetheless it was their fault. It just didn't work well, there were too many people where the camera was moving at the time. I just happened to be the last one not to get out of the way.

Jonathan, you're speaking of the ORIGINAL strip. It's on a street that starts with an F I think(Faremont?). Anyways, that's where most of the old casino's were back in the day. I was really impressed with that section of town, I loved the retro feel.
In fact I almost thought it was cooler than the current strip.

Yeah that was pretty fun, but it's not as good as the current strip at all I don't think. Still, it was neat.
Vegas is great, so much to do there, nice weather, so unusual.

Heh, I remember my Vegas trip. Stayed in some cheapo-motel for $19. And that was for two people. The beds were hard, the bathroom miniscule, and the view of a wall.
In other words, it was the most perfect room in Vegas!
Why? Because who cares about your room, I mean, it's VEGAS! All you're going to want to do in that room is sleep. Heh, give me the cheap hotels anytime, I'd rather see the sights than fancy wallpaper.
