A dark castle at night. A shadowed man in armor. I slowly walked towards him, seeing no one else around. A cold wind blew by, blowing aside the man's cloak. I still aproached.

'Who are you? Where are we?'

I get closer to him. I am now within ten feet. It had seemed to get colder as a drew closer to him. His eyes suddenly opened and looked stright at me. I jumped back and fell to the ground, about to hit my head on a rock...

***

"AH!"

The woman sat up stright in her bed, yelling. She breathed hard as she relized it was only a dream. Only a dream she had been having for nearly two weeks. Her eyes wandered across her bare room as her breathing and heart rate slowed. She slowly got out of her bed and dressed. She pulled a jacket on and walked out of her apartment.

She soon reached the crouded streets of Courscant. It was still late at night. Not even midnight yet. But she needed to walk. The night seemed to almost call to her as she walked. She sighed slowly and shivered. It was colder than usual.

She turned down a smaller street and stopped. It was deserted. An odd thing for Courscant even if it was night. She slowly started to walk down the dark street and looked around. Her eyes watched the surroundings as she walked.

A cool wind blew by her and she shivered. She stopped walking. Something told her to look behind her. She didn't want to but the urge was to strong. She slowly turned around and took a step back.

A man now stood in the empty street where she had been a moment before. There was something familer about him. A cloak was pulled around him as he watched her. He didn't move at all.

"Who are you?"

:: My violet eyes simply held onto the fleshy mortal as I watched. I had no intention of letting this meal pass. I had been haunting her dreams for quite some time, starving myself the whole while just so that the meal of one would be that much more satisfying.
I sighed and pushed myself off the wall and turned away from the woman. My blood red cloak didn't stir as I turned onto the windy street behind me. I turned my back to her as I walked away, leaving a feeling in the air as if to follow, I smiled, my fangs digging into my lower lip.::

Jesse watched him turn and start to walk away. Suddenly, she knew where he was familer from. Her dreams. He had been the man beside the dark castle. He could give her the answers on what was going on lately and why the night seemed to "call" to her. She ran after him.

"Wait! Please."

She stopped running when she caught up to him and slowed so her pace matched his. She walked beside him and looked up at him. A cold feeling seemed to go up her spine while she was this close to him.

"Who are you? I know you know what is going on lately with me. I dont know how I just know. Please. Can you tell me whats going on?"

:: I smirked as my arm wrapped in blood red silk slipped about her waist and pulled her to me as I walked across the street and headed to a bar. Public places were so much better to feed in, if anyone saw, I just ate them too.::

I'm hungry, that's what is going on, how about a bite to eat Beautiful?

:: I tapped my shadow wrought powers and created a streamline of influential darkness into the woman's mind, compelling her to follow me further into the abyss as I had been for quite some time. It was routine for me to toy with my meals until the very last moment when I massacred their body and licked the blood off their torn bodies, but this one asked too many questions and I'll be sure to ask my favorite question to this one before I do what I would really enjoy to do.
My armor stirred along my brain, creating anxiety and eagerness like it always did when I was getting hungry.::

My name is of no concern right now, I'll tell when I'm fed. I am the Thorn among the Black Roses, and that should satisfy you for now.

:: I escort her into the bar and we pass into the dank room, few people taking notice of us as we enter and I usher her to a booth.::

She felt a push in her mind but ignored it. She followed him only out of couriocity. So he would not tell her his name. That was the least of her worries at the moment. She sat down at the booth across from him. There was something else about him. She could sense it but she did not know what. Even in this close and hot room, it was cold around him. That is odd enough to catch her attention.

"What are you...? There is more too you than meets the eye. I know it. What it is I do not know but I would like to know."

She stared him in the eye. Her dark blue eyes watched him closely.

:: She was very nosy wasn't she. I sneered and my marble white hand reached across and covered her mouth. Her mouth finally quit moving and I began to speak.::

You know nothing. I don't care what you just said, I wasn't listening so don't expect any answers. You have one minute to answer my questions correctly. Acutally, it should only be one if you're good enough.

:: This was my favorite part.::

Why shouldn't I kill you now? and don't say I couldn't, I can and I most likely will. Just answer, quickly, I'm hungry.

:: A repetitive hissing noise could be heard as my armor laughed beneath my skin. This was it's favorite part also.::

Her eyes narrowed at him. She waited... and waited. She smirked lightly as she saw him growing slightly annoyed that she would not answer him. 45 seconds later, she answered him. Her voice was calm. Almost as if she would welcome death. She now knew why he was so cold and why his skin was pale.

"Because I am more usefull then that. Then to merely be used as food."

He suddenly saw the shadows about her start to bend. A small group of shadows came up from behind him and covered his eyes to where he could no longer see. By the time the shadows disappeared, Jesse was gone. He could sense her out on the street, weaving easily in between the many people on the street. She came to an ally way and stepped into it. She waited in the shadows, half expecting to see him.

:: The shadows that encompassed her body suddenly seemed to shy away from her, but there was no light in the alley. Several hands formed in the shadows though and they pulled her to the wall nd covered her mouth so she couldn't speak as they took solid form.
I lowered from a fire escape above her and the hands slipped away, back into my boy as the armor took is more natural colors on itself.::

You, in a more vulgar term, girl, are retarded.

:: My hand didn't even seem to move but with enormous strength and speed, my white hand rammed the woman into the wall, pinnng her a good two feet off the ground.::

You are no useful, you proved that when you ran. T'was foolish to run from the shadows you seem to have some friendship with. My eyes might have been covered but I have more than these two.

:: My other hand went to my spine and a hilt seemed to slide up from the bas of my neck. I grasped it and pulled, a sound like cutting flesh spewed forth with blood as my blade was draw and an normous eye rotated on the hilt. The mouth like hilt quivered and laughed at the mortal ad the eye looked at her, the veins stressing at it the corners.::

Again, you are smply retarded and that is not a good reason for me not to kill you. And waiting, I cannot die by time alone, you can. But it would be wise not to do so again, if I give you the chance.

:: My armor sprang from several parts of my body like spikes and pinned the rest of the woman to the wall also, stabbing through flesh and clothes and spreading, like pinning a bug to a collection wall.::

Now I'll give you one more chance, for stupiditie' sake. And don't try anything cute either.

:: The force flared within me more, I was hungry and having fun, I could feel her pain. The shadows about us seemed to take humanoid shape and dance along the floor and walls, all laughing at the mortal silently.::

Jesse gasped as the armor peirced her skin. Blood slowly driped from the wounds as she was pinned to the wall. She looked at Valirion, trembling slightly, more out of fear than out of pain. Pain she could take. Fear was another thing. He could sense she was not afraid to die but that she was afraid of him for other reasons.

"I have heard of your kind... The night hunters, blood sucking vampyres. What have I done that has drawn your attention to me so much that you would haunt my dreams for weeks? Calling me into the cold nights?"

Her dark red blood drips slowly onto his armor. She stares down at him, her deep blue eyes looking into his. Her breathing slowed slightly along with her heart beat.

"Did you bring me out here just to kill me? Why would someone go through so much effort just to kill someone when they have killed many before?"

Because that's what I like to do. Any other stupid questions? Why don't we ask the shadows who they like more?

:: The shadows seemed to form hands, not of my armor this time, that grabbed at her neck and pricked at her bleeding wounds.::

Why don't we ask the Creator why blood is red or why organs can still function for some time after leaving the body? Would you like to explore these questions with me? No? Then shut up.

:: My hand withdrew from her neck and so did the shadows, my armor slithered back beneath my skin and laughed silently as it licked her blood off itself. I let her body sag as nothing was holding her up now.::

But I'd like to see what the other's would say of you, Jesse Black. Find your own way to the Shrine and then the Council will deem your fate in the shadows from there.

:: With a sneer, I turned and my armor wrapped about me as I walked into the shadows, the darkness seeming to wrap about me as my presence diminished from the night.::
