Never read his book, never have any intention to ether....Potter books rule the way...

It's an entirely different style of book, really. They're not alike at all. Pratchett books are aimed at an older audience, and are much more entertaining, for humour value :)

Depends on what you call humor....

LOL it is humour. the premise of most of the books, although they tell extremely interesting stories, is to make the reader laugh - and I do laugh, out aloud, while reading them :mneh something no other books make me do

Like i said, it depends if you find it funny or not, some people in the world might find the books boring, same with Harry Potter. I find hary potter entertaining and funny, you find it less funny than man, diffrent opinions.

I thought a pop idol had to be popular at one point.

I'd call Shakespeare and "extremely" popular author. I'd refer to Pratchett as guy who ARGUEABLY writes words.

Pratchett is a good authour. I started to read his books last year. Unfortunately, I don't have alot of time for leisure(sp?) anymore.

Stephen King is an extremely popular author. Tolkien is an extremely popular author, Pratchett likewise.

Shakespeare is legendary.

I do like my Fantasy books. Ones that are more realistic than childish, but i still love Harry Potter.

You put Prachett in the same league as Stephen King? Tolkien is basically just a one-trick pony, so I'll let that comparison go, but that's it. Prachett may have a small, cultish following, but that doesn't make him an extremely popular writer.

He may be even a Weird Al Yankovic-level of ambiguous fame in the literate world (although I still think that's being too kind) but even that isn't extremely popular.
