I need to know if anyone else has been "harassed" on instant messanger clients or in threads by this guy (Jamel Croko'yn, AIM: Hustler Ahmad). He has certainly served to find plenty of ways to annoy people in the short time that he as been here, and many of us have tried to be patient with him. However, in my estimation, he is quickly closing in on becoming little more than a troll.

My latest evidence, from an AIM conversation a few minutes prior to this post:

At that point, I blocked him from my IM client.


Perhaps part of it is me being tired from a long night out, but as far as I'm concerned, he deserved every harsh word I dished out. I am officially fed up with his antics. Therefore, it's important that anyone else whom has had conversations/issues like this with him make it known. If this is becoming a common occurance, I believe a serious discussion about permenant banning needs to be undertaken.

A fair statement. My problem with him, at this point, is that he doesn't know when to shut up. This has been evidenced by both the conversations Morg and I have posted here. After asking him to either get to the point or go away, he still persists with his inane banter, asking strange half-baked questions and babbling about his own twisted philosophies of life (if you can call them that). That's reaching the point of harassment. Now, with an IM client, one can correct the problem fairly easily by blocking such a person. With the boards, it's obviously a larger matter. If this is a trend that is occuring on IM, and his social behavior on the boards has not shown signs of improvement (I have seen very little myself), then I think some action is needed.

I could think of a few other examples of his harrassment. Bit early for me to name names (no cup of coffee yet), but I'm aware of it.

that looks to me like someone who is trying to be a victim/martyr by bringing up race into the issue. I think we can all say that race has never been an issue here on the boards in regards to discrimination, but with him and if he were banned it very well could be. I'm just saying be safe and cautious. I'm for waiting and gathering much more evidence if there were to be a banning.

That way, no one can fault you if the evidence is there.

Ive never spoken to him on IM or even here at the board. I have seen two convos with him that friends have posted to me and theyre both basically the same as what Fig and Morg had to put up with.

Jamel has started a thread at SFF. While hes minding his P's and Q's right now, I find him extremely annoying. He seems to pull words out of the air that make no sense whatsoever and the way he strings them together.... :x

I wouldnt mind seeing him gone but I personally dont have anything concrete to offer. If I get anything, I'll post it.

It has always been our stance here as staff at SWFans that AIM or other IM program issues are not ours to deal with, but if such behavior translates into a big problem in the standard RP category forums then we can take action.

As of yet I fail to see much evidence of him trolling there in a while. Especially since he got temp banned for lude content in a post there once. But that temp banning for such activity is one piece of concrete evidence we do have.

I have no problem with taking time on this. You have a very prudent stance, Ryla, and I completely understand your line of thought. In terms of other evidence, it is strewn about the boards... he's already been dealt a 24 hour ban by Mr. .Net for a vulgar post that was made in the OOC forum a while back. He's succeeded in annoying a lot of people before today with similar attempts to play victim (Avalon at GJO is riddled with them). He managed to do all this before an apparent "race card" was ever played on his part.

What, if anything, is done on the main board is up to the main board staff. It's their call. I just wanted to bring this up to find out if this is a trend that needs to be exposed, and get some information compiled so that the matter can be addressed. So, if everyone can keep their eyes peeled for further relevent material, that would be helpful to everyone.

He's done more than enough to now get banned at GJO. I submit I've deleted 5 posts for inappropriate content, he has indeed trolled Avalon and harrassing two admins simply is crying out for a dismissal which has been given.

Th offences are GJO related and hence, dealt with at GJO. I hope he wises up and that he goes no further. Because they are so far only GJO related, there's no real call for his overall dismissal unless he does go further.

But I'd say GJO banning isnt going to look too hot on his record if he does go further.

It seems to me from what Figrin and Morg posted here, that he's realized that hes earned the reputation of being a raving idiot, so hes trying to "challenge" people from the boards who are reguarded as more intelligent.

Or, he may be trying to anger a group mod into saying something discriminating about him, so he may try to discredit them in public...

Since it violates policy to take action against him for harassing members away from the boards, would it be possible to edit his accounts so that he couldnt view Instant Messenger handles in the member profiles?

The experiences I've had with him were this.

First, he tried to invite me onto another SW RP board, and I thanked him but said I was quite happy where I was (I think he's bugged other people too).

The next time he IMed me it was to say hi, but I was on my way to work so I said hi, told him I was leaving for work, and left.

The third time he wanted me to change a name of his...but he signed off before I could ask him any sort of question.

While he hasn't harrassed me, it's fairly obvious he's harrassed others. He needs to put up or shut up, imo.

I apologize for my antics, done during aim. You being a GJO member, or apart of their staff I would like to say that I sincerly hope you are not scared, and one day can forgive me for my actions. Their is still a want for I to be in the GJO, but if that is to ever possibly happen, I would have to change my attitude. Become a much more better citizen of the boards, and more respective.

A public announcement has been made, which I will store here for any future need that may arise.
A member of this community has, as of today been banned from these forums for refusal to cease in sending PM spam to dozens of members of this community as well as several other infractions which the administrative body of the RP group boards and the regular RP staff have been discussing for the last couple of days.


Jamel Croko’yn received a warning from myself to immediately stop PM spamming members of this community, which he refused to heed and instead offered up excuses. I gave him a second warning yet I still got more backtalk filled with excuses and claims that his messages were not spam from him along with more complaints of the same spam PMs being received by other members of this community. And as of now all of his accounts have been banned from this community for this infraction, which is defined in the FAQ. This is not something that I wished for this situation to result in, but refusals to uphold the policies put forth in the FAQ or listen to the warnings of staff members cannot and will not be tolerated.
