lol, actually, Nintendo Started that, it was a way to boost the sells of the N64 (Which at the time, looked bad) Playstation followed up with there own. Thing was, the N64 Price drop was to 39.99, while the playstations was 19.99... so technically, Playstation Started it, but they got the idea from Nintendo
