Please try to help keep posters from hotlinking images that aren't hosted on their own webspace or attached here at SWFans. Leeching bandwidth is highly frowned upon and as learned this evening can also result in retribution via image replacement scripts that some sites use, leaving very inappropriate results.

If someone uses an inline image that is hosted on another site, either edit it to be a link, or remove it and request they upload it to their own webspace or attach it in a post.

Sure not a problem. I try t'do that anyway, but I'll keep a closer eye out for it.

Does that apply to avatars as well?

Avatars are hosted on the Swfans server once they are uploaded.

So in the SW cartoon thread, did Jedieb hotlink that picture? If so, I'll edit it....

Yes it is hotlinked from the starwars.com site. Please edit it to be a link.
