At least that is being reported and he will be playing Odysseus, he is a good choice, Odysseus is a huge characer and very important to the story. So all they need is Helen, Ajax, Meneaus, and Priam.

Awesome! I really liked Sean Bean since his role as Cornwell's Richard Sharpe in a series which takes place during the Napoleonic Wars. And very impressed with his portrayal of Boromir.

When is the shooting and production planned for Troy?

I worry this may be a bad thing. So far, I believe we know the following cast:


Brad Pitt
Eric Bana
Sean Bean
Orlando Bloom

Too many Bs! ;)


But seriously, to me the inclusion of Bean AND Bloom might be trying to cash in on the success of that small film they were both in.

They are good friends though, Bloom and Bean, that may have contributed but I don't care what the reason. I really, really love Bean's acting.

Well I guarentee Bean will survive this one, he might have a little trouble getting home :p I think thats a good casting decision also Reaper the guy playing Agamemmon doesn't have a B in his name :p

I agree with you but if I didn't somebody would have complained :rolleyes Also I bet there are a lot of people who have never read the book or know much about it which is a shame honestly, the Illiad is a great novel.
