At random times, I hear Homer Simpson say "Beer..".

I have no idea why!

WTF?

Run an antivirus program... immediately.

Beyond that... I don't have a damn clue.

Charley, that is quite obviously your subconcius ;)

Sanis Prent
Feb 1st, 2003, 06:08:55 PM
I'd thought about that, actually. It could possibly be a voice in my head. After all, I've been dry since last weekend.

WOAH! You must be twitching like a man with his hand in a plug!

Sanis Prent
Feb 1st, 2003, 06:29:18 PM
Well...I just tell myself I'm losing weight, and saving money, and that those two things are good.

Still....I'm really really wanting a beer :(

ReaperFett
Feb 1st, 2003, 06:41:40 PM
Dont lose weight. You get like me!

Sanis Prent
Feb 1st, 2003, 06:52:26 PM
Try shopping for clothes and not being able to find your size.

When I started this, 38's were tight on me, and I was about to have to start wearing 40's. That is where the line is drawn into the sand. I will not wear size 40 pants ever.

ReaperFett
Feb 1st, 2003, 06:56:12 PM
I do have that. They either hang off me or are too tight in places, like how my jeans have rubbed so much I actually have a small bald patch on my legs.

Sanis Prent
Feb 1st, 2003, 07:01:13 PM
Yep, I tossed a wonderful pair of khakis because that happened :(

ReaperFett
Feb 1st, 2003, 07:06:34 PM

Thank you, and good evening. :D

Ditto to Ryla

And don't worry, Charley.. I hear voices sometimes too. I can SWEAR that my PC must have said something, but it'll be off or there'll be nothing that could have made the noise.

Sorry about that... Us Stalkers do get tired of trying not to move while in your attic Leeloo, and we must take turns at the peek hole. :D

Yes, I must loose weight also... I just noticed I am 15 pounds over what I should be! The HORROR!!!
Charley starving yourself won't work, that just creates up and down roller coaster fun.
You need a steady workout program.

(Note: I might only know average on Computers, and cars, and guns, but I know ALL in the health department. Having a Father who is a Sports Director and having majored in Health and Fitness in College, and A Mother who was a All State Swimmer and now a P.E. Teacher, which also required Health and Fitness Classes, I feel that I am well versed on this subject, having suffered many long boring health talks, so BOW TO MY SUPAH HEALTH KNOWLEDGE!!! OR FACE MY WRATH!!!)

So go ahead, drink your friends beer! It will still save you money! Beer has suger in it, and suger burns fast. So you need a workout program.

Charley I've imagined whole conversations before. So don't feel to obad.

But I'd run a virus scan anyway.

I've got a Dell computer, and ever since I've had it I occasionally hear ghost noises through the speakers. They are clips of a conversation, but I never can make it out, and still ahven't figured out what triggers them.

It's not a virus, I've ruled that out, but man, it's creepy. And I'm looking forward to wearing 32's again. I'm getting tired of all my 34's.

Sanis Prent

I'd murder small nations to wear 34's again

Don't make me come over and hurt you. :p (j/k)

I'd love to be 130 pounds! I'm a little rounder than most, but I just reasoned that I'd rather be soft and happy than bony and depressed. And, I have a guy who likes me just the way I am. :D

ReaperFett
Feb 2nd, 2003, 01:26:57 PM
Ryla, its okay for you to be 130, its not classed as medically dangerous :)

And you're totally right, it's important to be happy first, everything else second.

I mean, I'm not 130 pounds right now... actually, I'd look pretty silly at 130.

The words "not bloody likely" come to mind.

It is the same set of clips, and never at the same time of day. I'm pretty decent when it comes to naming Radio station spot ads, and this certainly isn't one. This is a sound ghost pattern that is activated by something I haven't yet figured out.

And, for me Dell was more than a good option, it kicked the butt of anything I could build, and cost me $400 less. And yes, I do know where to ger super-cheap parts. Still saved $400.

You could be picking up things like police radios. Only a few months ago a fire engine was called out to my street because a fire had broken out in a kitchen just over the road from me. I got the entire conversation the Firetruck had with whoever is on the other side through the speakers on my PC.

It always comes over very quiet when it does happen, you have to hold the speakers close to your ear and listen carefully.

These clips are under three seconds, and say four sets of things only. I mean, there are four sound clips that play is all.

Your sure its the same thing over and over?

If so, it is odd. Very odd.

Sejah Haversh
Feb 3rd, 2003, 01:44:09 PM
Did it back before I had trillian. Started the first day I used the computer. And it is the same things over and over.

Ahh, I got a cursed car that belonged to a man who died in the looney bin, and now a haunted computer. What's next, strange tapping noises from my pocket PC?

:lol hmmm, guess I really did hear something late in the night, I always dismissed it as nothing but it seems it happens to others....I always get like a sound I can't place like at after 11, must have that stupid thing too....

Figrin D'an

It's the gnome that runs on the hampster wheel that powers your processor... he's just looking for some attention and maybe something to drink. It does get aweful inside of a computer box after all.

Like Morgan said, it's interferance. Your speakers must be picking up signals from things like CB Radios. Most of the time, it's not a problem, but if it says the same thing over and over again then it's got to be a program and not interferance.

Well lets start at the beginning... Charle, have you created a sound script for your computer?
