Nusakan

Perhaps it was his unnatural winning streak that caused people to stare at Nusakan, or perhaps it was his green skin, maw of fangs and talon lined hands. Either way, the customers of the Saiatah Higher Roller were standing as far away from the would-be Sith as possible, whilst at the same time managing to crane their necks to stair at him whenever the movement of the crowd permitted a clear view on his figure.

Nusakan himself did not notice this. Busied with trying to absorb the rules of Sabacc, whilst playing it, his mind was fully occupied. The croupier handed him another card, shakily placing it in front of him rather than slipping it into the outstretched jade palm. The structure of his hand was such that their were only three appendages on it – one short thumb and two thick ‘fingers’, that narrowed into points at the end. It was this malformed shape that caused the dealer to shy away from actually handing Nusakan his cards.

“What does this mean?” the man’s resonate voice caused the croupier to jump edgily. His tone was not threatening, but the way that it seemed to rumble straight from his gut was unsettling to say the least.

“It means you’ve won 300,000 credits, sir.”

Small yellow eyes narrowed.

“… Oh.”

(Javus was making his usual rounds of the ship. He liked to see for himself that his ship was in order and things were running smoothly. Sure, he had security guards up the wazzoo in and about the ship, keeping order. But there was nothing like seeing it for yourself.)

(Walking into one of the many casinos the Saiatah had to offer, he noticed a card table gathering a lot of attention, though the attentive guests were somewhat amusing to look at huddled together and straining their necks to see the player at the table. Even more amusing was the dealer, standing as far back towards the wall, without trying to look uncomfortable.)

(Having piqued Javus' curiousity, he made his way over to the table in time to hear the question the alien gave the dealer and the asnwer the dealer gave back. Javus whistled appreciatively as he reached the alien's side, not bothered in the slightest by his appearance or height.)

That's a mighty sum, my good sir. It's like our motto here on the Saiatah: Everyone's a guaranteed winner. And it looks like you've won yourself a bucket-load of creds.

Nusakan looked down to the man and nodded. He would have literally needed a bucket to carry out of all his winnings, but he had no intent of taking what he had received for his own. Truthfully, he had little use for money, and was planning only simply giving it back to the dealer at the conclusion of the game.

“Luck is favouring me,” he replied as he turned, noticing for the first time the large crowd that had clustered around him.

Deciding to draw one more hand before quitting this particular table, Nusakan lifted the cards he was drawn and found to his dismay that the dealer was grinning. The values represented on the tiny squares of card made no pattern that allowed Nusakan to win.

“… Or perhaps not.”

(Javus smiled and gave the alien a hardy pat on the shoulder, one he was sure the large being didn't even feel much.)

Sometimes even beginner's luck runs out.

(As the dealer took the creds the alien had lost, Javus turned and extended a hand to the alien.)

Javus Parr, Commander of the Saiatah.

Nusakan returned the greeting by shaking Parr’s hand with his own clawed hand.

“Nusakan. Sith of … the Sith.”

He considered what the man had said before looking around.

“… What is this place intended to be?”

Well...

(Javus put a hand to Nusakan's back, ushering him towards the cashier where he could cash in what chips he had left.)

This ship is a pleasure ship, so to speak, with many amneties at your disposal.

You've got your casinos, your amusment parks, zoos, various areas of the ship made to look like different planets from the known galaxy, and so on.

(They reached the cashier, where Javus helped the large alien to recover his winnings.)

Most come here from around the galaxy to relax, put their feet up, and be pampered to the max.

(He looked at the tall alien.)

Though I doubt you're the type to want to be pampered hand and foot.

(He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.)

You look like the type that likes a good hunt. Possibly in the dangerous jungles of Yavin VI, or the swamps of Dagobah, or the forbidden barrens of Tattooine.

And for such adventurers, we also offer real-time/real-life holographic safaries. It's the closest you can get to the real thing, without actually traveling to the real thing.

And then when you're done hunting whatever it is that facies you, you can step out and have a drink at the bar next door.

(They left the cashier and began wandering about the ship.)

But also being a Sith, you'd probably like to try your hand at the lightsaber training rooms.

We actually have a seperate floor dedicated to Force users, so they may practice, run simulations, whatever they wish. Even meditate in the different mediation rooms.

(He spread his arms wide.)

We got it all right here in one small part of the galaxy.
