"Engrish" subtitles from TTT... [Archive]

A link to this was posted on TheOneRing.net today...

Bascially, it's a series of screencaps from a Japanese bootleg DVD of The Two Towers, with "translated" English subtitles... anyway, in short, it's very much in the mold of an "All your base are belong to us"- kind of bad translation. Some are pretty funny. :)

Yeah, it's always the Malaysians who do the subtitles on those DVDs. They just get the stupidest engrish speaker in the country to sit down in front of a TV and take notes :lol You should see the subtitles on my Star Wars trilogy DVDs.

Didn't stop me from ordering my copy of TTT, though. It's really dvd quality because it's the original dvd screener source.

I can understand HOW the mistakes happen. Anyone who translates a foreign language with strange words would struggle. But dont they double check these things? :)

Remember, the guys who make these bootleg DVDs, then turn around and sell them for $10 are doing it illegally. They're probably spending 50% of the time looking over their shoulders for the Malaysian equivalent of a Scotland Yard team with battering rams, machine guns and plastic evidence baggies.

ROFL, they're "subtitling under duress" :lol

Rush rush for Malaysian bootleggers, or any bootleggers for that matter :)
