You call that cold?

Scotland, during the day -2 one winter I remember. the heating in the house was no good too so every night we used to have to bring our covers off our beds and sit with it over us in the living room with wooly hats on.

I kid you not. Twas bloody freezing that year.

Ah, but how cold is it in your house?

Still, -27 has got to be hard to take.

Charley, mon, I have so got you beat. It's bordering on 0 here with the wind chill. It's only about 14 degrees without it.

And the worst part is, it's been this way for a frikkin' week!

So... what we need is someone on the forum with a lot of cash to buy an island for all the RPers to live on. We wont require much, as long as there is an internet cafe for us to pop into :D

Any takers?

Inside the house is fine but I have to walk to the campus to take my courses... Coldest winter in four years supposedly. News said that by Monday we'll have gotten to -42... Which means that everyone is going to be inside or walking to get around.

Doesn't skin freeze in 10 minutes in temperatures like that?

It's hard to believe that the jet stream has dipped that far south... the citrus farmers are going to be in trouble if it stays like this much longer.

Gah, you guys actually get cold, we just get the Seattle Ragnorark here. Four or five months of no sunshine, and moist drizzle to full-blown downpour every day of it. And it never gets below 34 except at 2 in the morning. Daily average is about 45-50.

Never ever been anywhere lower than -6C. Then again, that's extraordinarily old for a place that reaches 50C every now and then.

My freshman year of college, the first week of the second semester was deadly cold... the entire week consisted of below zero base temperatures, averaging to about -15 F. Factor in the wind chill, and it pushed the average down to about -35 F. The worst day was Thursday... when I woke up (about 7AM) it was -48 F with the wind chill, and had only risen about 2-3 degrees by the time I had to leave for my 9:30 class. Needless to say, the university got smart and canceled classes on Friday.

However... those still are not the coldest conditions I have experienced.

Cold doesn't bother me that much. I used to work ten to twelve hours a night in a freezer that was twenty below zero. On the up side, I could bring icecream to work, and it would still eb frozen by the time I went to eat it. Sadly, I had to use a chisel to get it out of the box...

Too cold = Wants to stay in bed where its warm.
Too hot = Feel to lazy to get up.
Any other time = Just 10 more mins.

If it's 0 K, then you might have a legit arguement.
