Council Voting time

Please read this carefully before voting and accepting a voting nomination, the rules ahve changed.

Firstly, I wish to point out that beign on Council is not a status symbol. It is a job, an IC one and as such, there are some resposibilities you must do.

a) You MUST follow and when required, respond to any thread within Avalon IC in a timely and professioanl manner. Two weeks before answering is totally unacceptible.

b) You MUST be able to serve out your full three month term. Within reason of coruse - enforced absence, need for a break or whatever, is fine. As long as we are fully aware of it and why.

c) You must be IC at least the rank of a Knight. You must have obtained that rank before the last Council election.

d) You must be IC able to perform the duty. Those who are IC absent are disqualified, like myself.

e) You are allowed to vote ONCE OOC. Using multiple IC characters to vote will lead to your vote disallowed and disqualification.

Failure to do a) or b) will mean you will be disqualified from standign at the next election without any more notice that the disqualification the staff have agreed on this time around. Liam Jinn did not meet a) or b) and is thence disqualified from being elected this time around.

The procedure this time around is as follows -

1) You get 7 votes. Master Yogurt has the permanent seat, 7 others need to be elected onto Council.

2) If you have voted for someone for the first time, the person you voted for is hence nominated. That person will then post their acceptance or decline.

3) Failure to post an acceptance will lead to disqualification.

4) Votes and acceptances will be tallied, as well as declines.

There will be another thread where questions and comments will be allowed. Anything other than a vote or an acceptance / decline will be immediatly deleted.

Voting closes board midnight, 31-01-2003.

I'm not 100% sure how to reply. Would a suggestion be in order at this point? If I am to accept for this time around, would it be possible for Estelle to be granted the right to automatically take her place on the Council next election and I not be considered?

I have only been a member of GJO for little more than a month or maybe less than that and I don't consider myself fit to vote on this matter, but what of others who have been members for quite sometime and didn't vote this time. Like Morg said, the extra name is a very small string of HTML. No biggie. Choosing again would just cause people that voted for them to choose a new side or the people that didn't vote for them on the council before to vote for them to be on it. So it'd be a stalemate again, I'd think, unless people changed their minds just to break a tie, which would be wrong. I don't really see a bad thing in them both having the spot. Just more opinions and votes is all. :)

The council now has a temporary seat, that exists only for this session. This seat is filled by Estell/Helenais.

In the event of future ties for the last spot, this emergency seat will in all likelyhood be re-created.
