Help......I need a dll file

My puter won't boot and it says i need a copy of this file <windows root>\system32\hal.dll Could someone please help me out with this? the aim i am on rt now is Nosferatu Sothie

You need to re-install windows. That file is specific to what is inside the PC... a HAL for a VIA chipset is different than an SIS one or intel.

Just wanted to say thankie Morg for your help :) You were more than right I needed to have my xp re installed. Plus I had to have it reformatted. So it is up and running, missing a few things but up lol

Also he thinks it may have been a virus but I have norton anti virus . I dl a lot from Kazaa ack is there something out there i can get music and stuff from thats a lil safer??? Once again thanks for the help it was much apperciated. :)

Much better. Search for "kazaa lite" normal kazaa has a lot of crap in it.

Futher, get http://spybot.eon.net.au/index.php?lang=en&page=download to clean your computer from the crap Kazaa desposits on it.
