If you roleplay a padawan and are interested in getting involved in a mystery-solving, crime-fighting assignment which will rely on making the most of your individual abilities and pooling such resources to work as a team, please state so here.

The sooner we sort out who's interested, the sooner we can begin.

If she gets back in time for it, I'd like for my padawan Lime to be a part of this. Her modem's out at the moment, but if she can get back before you guys get this set up, please count her in. But if she's not back by then, go ahead with it. No need to hold this up for you guys over one person.

My appologies for not replying sooner. First of all, thanks for your enthusiasm, let us hope that our efforts will satisfy this encouraging positive attitude. Now moving swiftly on.

The idea came about due to a combination of factors; I realised as a padawan how bored I was once my current roleplays where all replied to and think that being the future Jedi Knights of the GJO, a bonding experience both IC and OOC wouldn't go amiss. The aim of this assignment would be to do just that whilst having fun and allowing our characters to gain skills and test their current ones, relying on teamwork to make up for individual weaknesses.

In order to do this we should try to formulate a plot which takes into account the variety of shared abilities our characters possess as a group. So this field assignment wont be a big fighting fest, it will be a more practical mission, for example, the investigation Obi-Wan conducts in order to find the person attempting to assassinate Padmé.

The ingredients I had in mind to make a rather tastey plotline were:

The Black Sun

The Coruscant City Watch

Nar Shaddaa

Drug smuggling

I have an idea for a plot but I'd like to hear your imput. Do you have any ideas for storylines or any thoughts? Best way to make this a mutually enjoyable experience is to co-operate and come to an agreement on what this roleplay should invole.

Kelt Simoson
Jan 22nd, 2003, 08:29:40 PM
My idea on the drug smuggerling idea and yes im in also :).:

Simian Kane a very notorious and very viscous drug smugger on coruscant has just recently been smuggerling arms as well as drugs into the city. He has a Mafia type of group that supports his actions, escorts the drugs and arms to there buyers and kill anyone that stands in there way of making a profit. However there last buyer was someone pretty high up the chain of command in another Mafia organization called the "Venom Cartantion" which used to buy the guns from Kane until this last transport came along, Kane wanted a higher price for the weapons and the Venom group did not like attitude or the cheek of Kane sparking gang warfare on the streets of Coruscant. Innocents are being sluaghted in the cross fire, shops, banks and houses on eatchother gangs "terf" are being blown up and destroyed. The city watch cant handle it and thus have asked the Jedi try and sort the two gangs rivalry out right away..the only problem being both groups detest the Jedi and would probably kill on spot.

Its a basic story line thought out right from me on the sport..what do you guys think?

Jamel Croko'yn
Jan 22nd, 2003, 09:05:25 PM
I think it's nice but their are a lot more diverisity in the ingredients.

Well to test all of our team work and leadership capabilities I have came up with an on the spot storyline for this..just like Kelt.

On the outer rim their is afacility that is being created which is building items wielding scientifical similitaries to the bodies of the Ysamilia(I forgot name: Force unsenstative animals) which are to be used to be smuggled and traded in thorought a criminal blackmarket during a pod racing game on Tatonie while most of the city is observing the game, one of the highest of crime lords (Yassir Tarmod) who works for one of the Hutts. Information smugglers who are sympathizers of the New Republic delivered this issue of information but after this they were killed so few others would be put on the job.

Heading to the Jedi since this is a Jedi orientated mission they ask the Padawans invesitage, as the information they know about the situation is less then the real thing which is most of the reason of the investigation as well as picking a Padawan is that it doesn't seem as that much of a dangerous situation.

Though it doesn't seem so, it is on Nar Shadaa one of the highly populated planets of criminals. Going their, they must stay in discrete and not be noticed around the facility when they enter which would require someone of older age (unlike my character) to invesitgate probably as an undercover laborer. Also have someone registrate as a Pod Racer, repersenting the planet in the race, and in such working for one of the Hutts to block the eyes. Whoever does this job would have to do alot of things as well as the pod racing, they'd have to do something to alert the crowd of this illegial trade, or have a sign that gives the rest of the PAdawan to alert or something.

After this issue of course they'd attack as they have been infiltrated and attempt to kill all the Jedi so that the warning wont expand thorought the Outer Rim so other large facilities of power wont come in. The Black Sun Company become interested before the incarcerated and killing sprouts through information smuggling and attempt to attack the facility on Nar Shadaa. Now the job would probably change and we'd have to stop this war throguh diplomatic or physical adjustment.

This is just a suggestion it could be lowered or just elaborate, or whatever you want to do.

See ya

As fun as big plans are, in a mystery, I belive only one of us should know the end, and I'm nominating Loki to be that one, because he will be Thread-Master in this one.

I don't know what the Black Sun is, so, if someone could breifly sum up what that is in their own words, it would be great. Sadly I also don't know what Nar Shadda is.

In regards to the Watch, perhaps we have a few corrupt policemen on the force, and they are working with, but not hand-in-hand with the drug smugglers. And, for an added kick, what if the drugs are being EXPORTED from Coruscant, instead of being delivered to the planet? That would open further opportunity for the plot nstead of confining us to one area.

We all have skills too, but, it isn't until we work as a team that we also get to hone our weaknesses. If you could, Loki, could you lay out a bit more of a structure, and perhaps we can sort of start at different times, seeing as we probably wouldn't all be in it from the get-go.

Zeke
Jan 22nd, 2003, 11:22:07 PM
Black Sun is like a drug cartel...they're into almost anything that's illegal. I too, have no clue what a Nar Shaddaa is...

Jamel Croko'yn
Jan 22nd, 2003, 11:39:52 PM
Nar Shadaa is a highly populated planet which is native of the Hutt Race. It has many criminals along it, and is very drug related. It's like a technoligically advanced Las Vegas with high buildings and many bars.

EDIT: I got one question though, why is that they'd choose a Padawan in an investigation with the magnititude such as this, why not two or three Knights?

Anbira Hicchoru
Jan 23rd, 2003, 01:52:42 AM
Black Sun, to everyone's knowledge, ceased to exist after Xizor's death. There are a few surviving Vigos, who have covered a lot of tracks, and bought out and expanded a legitimate shipping conglomerate - the Sector Rangers. Legit, but possibly a cover for things that are still continuing.

And Sanis was born on Nar Shadaa :)

considering black sun is gone I'm sure there are enough hutts running spice operations. Plus the hutts connect with Nar Shadda very well. Illegal weapons trade might work out nicely instead of drugs.

And it would be even cooler if I can have a drawing of this car done on time. Krarr is one of the bigger auto manufacturers on Nehantish, and the Flagline is a supreme muscle car, escpecially with a turbocharged 492 cubic inch V-10. I think it puts out about 690 horsepower and is all wheel drive on Craegar Mag wheels.

And, yes, it is Sejah's new car.

Sorry about the lack of updates. It is just a case of establishing the plotline - which is a roleplay which wont involve us - then as the story progresses the padawans will become integrated into the story.

The two roleplayers involved in the first thread have particularly limited online/posting time which is convenient for me as I am going through somewhat of a rough patch at the moment myself. So there is really nothing left to discuss until it's underway, by which time you will be notified I promise.

The idea of this is that the padawans will work as a team in order to negate individual flaws. Having one-man-shows and other such related heroics would render any aforementioned goals null and void. That aside, of course you can be a part of it, this is not exclusive, if you're a padawan you're invited and most welcome.

It's already been said, I'm not completely certian but I believe Loki said something about we'd be alerted and the whole situation after the beginning role playing was done.

Also Loki, does this have to do anything with Loki the character's kidnapping, and how will he patricipate if it doesn't?

We needed a good Padawan Unity thread! It's gonna be great!! :D

I was wondering (forms evil grin, especially in Sejah's direction, and rubs hands together menacingly), don't you think it would be cool if all of the Padawan's got a set of special rings that had magic Force powers. And when they put their rings together and said the key words (i.e. Wind, Water, Heart) then they would be able to summon a magnificent, powerful Force...Captain?? Eh?? Eh?? :D

With the ultimate twist being that they were all of them deceived. In the land of Myrkr, in the forests of Munto Kudro, the Jedi Padawan Loki forged in secret one master ring and into it he poured his wisdom, knowledge and will to read all books. One ring to rule them all.
