Play it, it's a free massive multiplayer (80,000 people) game like Earth 2025 or Kings of Chaos. You can be dwarves, orcs, halflings, men, elves, etc. You're given 200 acres and 1,500 peasants within a kingdom of 24 other provinces and you have to build up, defend and expand your province. Reaperfeet and I are playing it. The new round starts Jan 15th and lasts well into March, but you can join anytime, the fighting just doesn't start until Jan 15th.

Visc- Armories are fairly useless as you won't be attacking much and you can steal extra gold. You'll also need about 5-10% farms depending on happyness level and science. My advice for a good start on thief:

10% farms
30% Mines
10% Thieves Dens
35% Banks
15% Libraries

Quick build the banks and mines. Then pump sciences until about a day before protection ends, then switch to this:

10% farms
10% Mines
20% Thieves Dens
15% Banks
5% Forts
20% Guilds
10% Towers
10% Libraries

Do not build elites as they are useless to a T/M. Go full def specs with a draft rate at about 65% Eventually, cast protection on yourself all the time. It will be very good against detering attacks.

What would you suggest for a halfling thief's TPA? I've been gaming out several strats all day on prophet, trying to figure out which is best, and it occurs to me on angel that with 47.8 modded DPA and 12.7 modded TPA, an orc my size could easily send 3,000 ogres against my 7,114 half-giants and win.

Anyways, i played the game with thrawnie nearly 2 years ago as a faery thief/mage for an age, and wound up getting to Lord by the last day of the age through a hopeless gamble of an attack on a Baroness.

12.5 modded TPA - less or more for a halfling thief? Back when I was faery T/M I had half elites, half thieves.

Turns out that Thrawnie still plays it, btw. I've seen a few of his posts on the utopia forum.

I gained land, I took from another. I gained prisoners. I gained 2 Knights.

2 Knights to train = 6600 or so
4 Swordsmen to train = 1200 or so
18 Soldiers are standard drafted in freebies
32 Horses are free, just have to be produced
5 Prisoners are free, and fight better than Soldiers.

I lost nothing I wont gain back in a Utopian day. Heck, Im more or less there NOW!

I made a GAIN. Not a substantial gain, but wasnt a substantial force.

I was very pissed off at an 851 acre dwarf for having captured 105 acres of land from a kingdom-mate of mine, so I obliterated her, and her province should be collapsing from starvation any day now. I took her food reserves from 50,000 down to 2,000 through thievery, performed vermin and drought and greed on her, got her peasants to riot for 5 days, got a CB, SoM, Survey, SoS of her and posted it in the kingdom's forum for my friend to retal on her.

Just goes to show that you shouldn't piss off a protected thief :)

Up until a week ago, I was living fat on the hog at 1,850 acres with 62 dpa modded, 4tpa raw and 1.5wpa raw. Then, the day of hell began. In a period of 26 hours, I was attacked 6 times by 5 different provinces from 4 different kingdoms hostile to our own. In a period of 26 hours, I went from being a happy 1,850 acre province with 1,183 honor points to being a 1,190 acre province with 590 honor points, a military that made up 80% of my population (62% is nominal in my prov), and a merely content population. I had to release 9,000 archers, but kept my 2,700 wizards, which gave me an instant 2+ raw wpa, dropped my draft to 60%, but my pezzies are still pissed because i have 67% of my pop as military, 60% combat and thieves and 7% wizards.

Wooh. Next age (26th of March) I'm going to be expanding like a rocket now that I know how to do it while protected with def specs, and no stopping to rest. This'll be my new strat, unless Mehul makes a change which affects the fundamentals:

10% Farms
20% Thieves Dens
10% Banks
10% Hospitals
20% Guilds
20% Towers
10% Libraries

I'm going to paradising nearly nonstop, unless there's a war or hard hostile. I don't think I'll be able to survive as a 3k acre halfer rogue with only 62dpa modded, though, so can anyone give me advice on how to get practically get a higher dpa? I ordinarily maintain at least 1 wpa raw and 4 tpa raw.

Halfling Rogue

I'm expanding nonstop (explore, occasional paradise maybe, love & peace, build buildings at double speed) for the first 2 days of protection, 3rd day I will use for consolidation, training. I already have 200 acres of buildings built up (buildings have completed construction) out of 270 acres, the rest are coming in except for about 12 acres which I don't have the money to build on yet.

With this strat, I'll be able to get about 75dpa modded under protection and still maintain 4tpa raw and 1wpa raw.

Just today I made it to Lord. Title is likely temporary; as soon as I'm retalled against by that large wizard I will more than likely lose it, regardless of how well I'm doing fighting him off. I skyrocketed from 200 acres to 1,200 acres within 10 days of starting, but had to stop growing because we were looking for war. Have been readying for war for about 3 weeks, no room to grow. Woke up yesterday to find Aragorn playing with buttons on my shirt. He must be after the Ring. Damn its siren call. Don't understand how toe sucking fits into things, though. Ah well, Sam will kill him if he tries anything. This is last war, I'm told, then we'll have a month's rest, should give me the opportunity to grow to 4,000 acres or so with paradise. Gotta love this 72dpa/12tpa/2wpa strat that I concocted, love them schools. Have to remember to science pump and elite pump when I make it to 2200 acres or so.
