Yaoi is a type of japanese comic...basically theres:

Manga - offical comics
Doujinshi - fan drawn comics, some of the best japanese comics are these ones.
Yaoi - Guy/guy romance, usually doujinshi (I've seen Legolas/Boromir/Aragorn yaoi sites -- very scarey!)
Yuri - Girl/girl romance
Hentai - The one meaning of this word is "pervert", nuff said. :lol
