I dont mind when they're used, as the look is good. I just dislike if they waste them. For example, I WAS going to use Boromir rrrrrrrright back when I saw the film. But I couldnt for the life of me think what for. The look was good, but wouldnt fit many kinds of character. So I left him be. I'd rather that than see, say, someone use Gollum as a Sith Lord :)

They cast Townsend. THey realised he was too young and wimpy. So they let him go. He wouldnt have been paid, as he hadnt technically done long enough. They didnt rant. He did, and went on to star in classics such as Queen of the Damned ;)
