View Full Version : What would you do with $100 million?

Well as probably everyone knows, the big story lately has been the Powerball jackpot of $314.9 million. They just announced the winner today and he turned out to be already a self-made millionaire who has a large construction company making $17 million a year! Wow, my god people are going to hate that guy. :) What's really stupid is that the jackpot was $315 million, but if you take it in a lump sum it's just $170 million, then after taxes only $101.7 million, not even a third of what you were supposed to win! Goddamn government taxes, just pure rip off.

Anyway, what would you do with $101.7M? hehe.

I wouldn't do much with it right away, I would just invest it into two year government bonds or something, put some in the bank, probably just hire someone to manage all of that money, that's the first thing I'd do. I'd spend $1 million (roughly, a bit less) on getting myself a McLaren F-1, but that's it. I suppose I might try to buy some great domain name like Movies.com, haha, no but something like that. Then I'd spend maybe $2,000 (chunk change) on DVDs that I want and don't have. That's it for me, wouldn't change anything else. :)

LOL!!! I'd get myself a great mansion, a nice sports car (not that I know much about 'em : lol ) and I think I'd like try helping out smart students in those poor countries that can't afford to follow their studies...

I wouldn't buy anything for nieces and nephews :D

Three words. Rebecca Romijn Stamos.

j/k :)

I would buy some land off the Government, and have my own TINY country, like Lebron said.

Destiny, where is that picture from? That animated chick, or whatever, is frickin' HOT. :)

Reaper, Lebron, I wouldn't mind my own country either, then I could invite my friends and we wouldn't have to put up with so many stupid laws, like the ones against murder, cruel and unusual punishment, etc. ;) haha, j/k

Lebron land. What would the brochures look like?

Big House-not a mansion, just enough for electronics rooms and a home theater, and lots of empty space for later. Plus maybe a few empty acres just for doing nothing. Preferably very near Arlington, V.A. -$3 million, I reckon.

A big antenna with a rotor, mounted like 20 meters up for really good HDTV reception (satellite and cable don't like to transmit HDTV channels, too much bandwidth, plus you can't record hd programs with their HD decoder boxes, not with quality, anyway)-$500

2 realdolls- $12,000

Fully equipped home theater with digital projector, Dolby Digital 7.1 audio, 10 foot screen. -$3,000

4 Plasma screen Hi-def 70” sets with HDTV tuners-$20,000

2 new base-line computers, 1 heavily equipped/tweaked computer, 1 server, 2 base-line 15” LCD screens, 2-22” 2:21 aspect ratio ViewSonic widescreen LCD screens-$10,000

Nice programmable telescope with digital video outputs-$4,000

A few cars/SUVs-$100,000

$5 million for my mom.

-Army-issue Kevlar helmet and desert combat fatigues, all with Kevlar, plus an M-16 A2 with scope, 2 Desert Eagle .50 cal automatic pistols, an M60 LMG, and a Bradley armored fighting vehicle that's been stripped of everything except AP weapons, plus 100,000 rounds of assorted ammunition.
-100,000 AK-47s and 90 million rounds of ammunition, plus 30,000 Katyusha rockets
-Isolated large house in South Africa
-Bribes to Langley officials, so that the CIA will come to me as a defense contractor when it's looking to supply foreigners with arms, 66% markup price.
-Arms warehouse and small shipping company in Beijing, China and Taipei, ROC Taiwan.
-49% stock in a startup international news agency
-$41 million

$49,149,750 spent (I think)

"2 realdolls- $12,000"

ROFL! Oh boy... ;)

Why a 49% stake in an international news agency instead of a controlling 51% share? :)

I'd take care of my family, then my enemies and anyone who looked at me the wrong way ;) I'd also buy a nice house for myself, not too big and build a tree in my living room ^_^;

I'd call my closest friends and say:

"Meet me at the airport, I don't know where we are going, I don't know when I'll return, don't bring anything, I'm buying today!"

After that I'll buy me a small island near the Bahamas where I can swing a hammock between two palm trees and grow old!
