Pretty staggering that we're all expecting TTT to clear over 45 million in it's secoond weekend so far. Should pass 200 million on Monday at the latest.

ReaperFett
Dec 27th, 2002, 08:54:51 PM
Well Im unsure, but I like to try and be highest within reason, just in case it does suprisingly amazing :)

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 27th, 2002, 08:58:35 PM
15 million on Thursday likely says your right.

ReaperFett
Dec 27th, 2002, 08:59:36 PM
Nah, because notice how Yog ALWAYS just beats the deadline? I suspect he'd do the same :)

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 27th, 2002, 09:03:16 PM
I'm not game to post over 50 million., even if a 17 mill Friday, 20 million Saturday and 13 million Sunday is most likely. Only needs a low drop off Sunday to break 50.... but i'm just not game to do it.

Jedi Master Carr
Dec 27th, 2002, 09:46:44 PM

Note, the above numbers are reported by reelsource.com, not official studio estimates. They are usually underestimating somewhat

Lees Movie Info reports entirely different numbers. I believe these are incorrect as TTT's gross of 20M for friday is tad insane (but who knows?)
http://www.leesmovieinfo.net/News.php?news_id=10

Either case, lets wait and see.. :)

ReaperFett
Dec 28th, 2002, 12:21:36 PM
I believe 20M is spot on ;)

Jedi Master Carr
Dec 28th, 2002, 03:04:33 PM
Brandon Gray, over at Mojo, is saying they are false, he said that they are averaging by partial numbers or something. My guess is the number is closer to 15 which makes more sense. Also I was surprised how well Harry Potter has rebounded it will probably make 6-7 million for the weekend, it made 4.5 last weekend. Looks like it will make it 250 now, could make it to 255-260.

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 28th, 2002, 04:42:17 PM
Whichever way it goes, anything over 15 million is incredible.

1 1 Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers NL $48,925,000 -21.1% 3622 - $13,507 $200,108,000 $94 / $45 2
2 N Catch Me If You Can DW $30,040,000 - 3,156 - $9,518 $48,600,000 $52 / $35 1

If that number holds, Fett wins the weekned it looks like. And for once, I will happily concede. TTT is showing legs :D

ReaperFett
Dec 29th, 2002, 08:51:48 PM
I hope thats true, that makes me closest for TTT, maybe closest for #2 and #3, and the right order

I AM INVEENCIBLE!! :D

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 29th, 2002, 08:53:15 PM
Here's hoping you DO win :D

Tho I woudl not be so condifent on 2 and 3. It looks like I've had a very good week.

ReaperFett

No cause that will mean LOTR cleans up again big time

ReaperFett
Dec 29th, 2002, 08:57:19 PM
Ahhhhh

I doubt theres a chances it WOULDNT :)

Could be intresting though, Yog got the ordering wrong.

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 29th, 2002, 09:01:06 PM
It's between you and me with double points on offer. Estimates for TTT have usually been low, so you have the best chance. Then again, only needs to duck below 48.48 and I win.

And as I want TTT to have every dollar it can get, I'll be happy to see you win.

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 30th, 2002, 12:52:54 AM
LOTR has to be too high. 15.05 on Friday, 16,95 on Staurday. Basically leave 16.9 on Sunday. No way. I smell fudging on the estimate

* Estimates gathered from BOM.

Dec 30th, 2002, 05:13:16 AM
Here is a little math for the unsuspecting:

$151,182,682
+ $48,925,000
= $200,107,682

Ooohhh, nice and shiny number.. makes great headlines.. :rolleyes

Marcus Telcontar
Dec 30th, 2002, 06:09:19 PM
I think I got closest for 2,3 and 5 :D! TTT onyly had to be 400,000 lower and I would have had a pretty impressive sweep.

Not complaining :D

Jedieb
Dec 30th, 2002, 06:19:08 PM
Isn't Antwone Fisher only being released in selected theaters? I don't think it's gotten it's widest release yet. I'm not surprised about Pinochio. Those commercials look simply horrible. Wasn't Coppola interested in making a live action version years ago? I think he even sued a studio over the whole project.

Well since Reaper complained we won't do double bonuses

kidding here are the results

Winner of #1 ReaperFett
Winner of #2 Marcus Q'Dunn
Winner of #3 Marcus Q'Dunn
Winner of #4 Quadinarous
Winner of #5 Marcus Q'Dunn

Here are the points
Marcus Q'Dunn 130
ReaperFett 100
Quadinarous 70
Sir Dizzy 30
Jedieb 30
Jedi Master Carr 30
Admiral Lebron 30
Master Yoghurt 30

Final Totals

Master Yoghurt 340

Admiral Lebron 250
Sir Dizzy 230
Jedi Master Carr 165
Quadinaros 160
Sene Unty 105
Jedieb 55

Well Yoghurt won again, looks like doubling the points didn't work though it pushed Marcus from 5th to 3rd which is impressive and Reaper regained second, if Reaper had won that second movie than he would have won but he was so close but Marcus was closer. I guess Yog keeps the crown for now until we begin again in May.
