View Full Version : Jedi Karaoke Night!!!

Ki-Adi Kindo
Dec 17th, 2002, 08:57:33 PM
It was a late weeknight, long after work hours, and like usual, Coruscant's nightlife was vigilant. All the taverns and clubs were swarming with party-eager crowds, save for one bar in particular, one extremely popular bar amongst the Jedi, and that was Master Yoghurt's Bar & Grill.

Kindo himself had been there more times than he could count, and ate more meals there than anywhere else he'd ever ate. It was his main source for good food whenever hungry and a cool place to hangout at after a long day's work. To the Jedi, it was a home away from home, the usual hotspot, but for some odd reason, it wasn't very lively tonight. Customers remained quiet and content, just drinking and having brief chats with a few companions, but no dancing or drinking games or anything exciting seemed to be taking place. That was soon to change.

Kindo, who had almost left because of the dull atmosphere, walked up to the empty space where dancers usually strut their stuff and searched for the karaoke machine, an retired device which had suffered lack of use for quite a while. He flipped it on, a loud snap echoing and startling a few people, and reached for the black microphone attached to a side hook. Turning that on, he looked out on the crowd, who barely noticed what he had been doing, and gave a bright and for him, usual smile.

" Due to the obvious increase of boredom around here, I now declare this OPEN-MIC NIGHT! "

"I'll go fisrt"

As drake started to sing, everyone in the room started to boo him.

Satine laughs, and shrugs, getting to his feet. Folding his wings behind him, Satine Force sends a message to Kindo.

Nice idea. Could be a fun night.

Pulling his hair into a ponytail, the silver of it and his eyes shining in the low light, Satine gets up on stage, and motions the poor Drake to stop. Grinning, he begins to sing, his voice neither good or bad, just there.

"When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

You're giving me too many things
Lately you're all I need
You smiled at me and said,

Don't get me wrong I love you
But does that mean I have to meet your father?
When we are older you'll understand
What I meant when I said "No,
I don't think life is quite that simple"

When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

The daily things that keep us all busy
Are confusing me
That's when you came to me and said,

Wish I could prove I love you
But does that mean I have to walk on water?
When we are older you'll understand
It's enough when I say so
And maybe some things are that simple

When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all
Nothing's like before

When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all
Nothing's like before"

She had stood up from her seat and walked to the stage just as Alpha finished.

"Bravo Master Alpha. May I try now?"
She then stepped up to the mike.

"This song, it's called Wind's Nocturne."

She started to sing, in a lilting saprano.

"From an unknown country across the sea
a wind blows gently
past my ears.
I want to know
who this person is
living as a troubled memory within my heart.

To love someone
or be loved by someone -
I wonder how it feels.
Someday I will surely come to know.

The night drenched in the blue star's light,
I was a child. Why is that day's melody,
once blowing so wild,
now fading away?

Intermittently,
a singing voice drifts toward the open sea.

To love someone
To be loved by someone -
I wonder how it feels. It feels so far...

I want to cherish
this newborn thought...
Fate has stirred my heart in vain.
It's only the wind..."

I stood up after the other person got down. I walked up on stage and grabbed the mic. I was going to sing one of my favorite songs. I had loved it so much. I had some singing experience, but I had never sang in front of an audience. I opened my mouth, and my voice emerged.

"Just a day, just an ordinary day.
Just trying to get by. Just a boy, just an ordinary boy.
But he was looking to the sky, and as he asked if I would come along I started to realize that everyday he finds just what hes looking for. Like shooting star he shines and he says, Take my hand. Live while you can. And if we walk now we will divide and conquer this land.

And as he spoke he spoke ordinary words, although they did not feel. For I felt what I had nopt felt before, and you'd swear those words could heal. And as I looked up into those eyes his vision borrows mine. And to know hes no stranger for I fell held him for all time. And he says,

Take my hands. Live while you can, and if we walk now we will divide and conquer this land. Divide and conquer this land, divide and conquer this land.

Please comne with me. See what I see. Touch the stars for time will not flee. Time will not flee, and you must be......"
I took a quick breath here and gave my audience a small, sexy look.

Just a dream, just an ordinary dream as I wake in bed. And that boy, that ordinary boy, wasn't all in my head. And he asked if I would come along. It all seemed so real, but as I looked to the door I saw that boy without feel. And he said, take my hand. Live while you can. If we walk now we will divide and conquer this land, divide and conquer this land, divide and conquer this land.

Just a day, just an ordinary day. Just trying to get by. Just a boy, just an ordinary boy, but he was looking to the sky......"

I let my voice trail off and smiled. My eyes flashed a little, and I hoped I would get some applause. I stepped down from the stage, and walked back to my table. My badge was in my pocket and I was wearing my beret. I picked up my glass and took another swig from it.

Satine applauds, and tries his luck again, this song being a slower, and lower key song.

"Wish I was too dead to cry
My self-affliction fades
Stones to throw at my creator
Masochists to which I cater
You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

Wish I was too dead to care
If indeed I cared at all
Never had a voice to protest
So you fed me <smallfont color={hovercolor}>-Censored-</smallfont> to digest
I wish I had a reason;
my flaws are open season
For this, I gave up trying
One good turn deserves my dying

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds
Wish I'd died instead of lived
A zombie hides my face
Shell forgotten
with its memories
Diaries left
with cryptic entries

And you don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on:
I'll never live down my deceit"

Giving a small smile, Satine gives a little bow.

Kanji applauds through each performace, and Drake's just for the attempt. Slightly smiling to himself, he tried to recall a tune..

"I'll have a shot at it," He spoke, standing from the chair and moving onto the platform. Coughing into his claw, Kanji brough the mike up and let the music play for a moment..

"Shout shout let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on I'm talking to you
So come on

In violent times
You shouldn't have to sell your soul
In black and white
They really really ought to know
Those wondering minds
Who took you for a working whore
Kiss them goodbye
You shouldn't have to jump for joy
You shouldn't have to

Shout (for joy) shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out

They give you life
And in return you gave 'em hell
As cold as ice
I hope we live to tell the tale
I hope we live to

Shout (the tale) shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out

Will you never shout
Feeling different
Are you ever gonna let it all out

And when you've taken down your guard
If I could change your mind
I'd really love to break your heart
I'd really love to

Shout (break your heart) shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out
Shout shout let it all out"

The rocking beat thumped out, and Kanji slipped off the stage amounst clapping.

Ki-Adi Kindo
Dec 19th, 2002, 05:15:24 PM
Kindo dashed to the stage and immediately yanked the microphone to himself. It was his turn to show everyone what he had, which wasn't much, but was something.

" The warden threw a party in the county jail.
The prison band was there and they began to wail.
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing.
You should've heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.
Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone,
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone.
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang,
the whole rhythm section was the Purple Gang.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Number forty-seven said to number three:
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

The sad sack was a sittin' on a block of stone
way over in the corner weepin' all alone.
The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don't you be no square.
If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Shifty Henry said to Bugs, For Heaven's sake,
no one's lookin', now's our chance to make a break.
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, Nix nix,
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock. "

Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay,
Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay.

My horse, is a shackled old man,
His, his remorse, was that he couldn't survey,
The skies, right before,
Right before they went gray,
My horse and my remorse,
Flying over a great bay

Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay,
Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay.

My, source, is the source of all creation,
Her, discourse, is that we all don't survey
The skies, right before,
Right before they go gray,
My source, and my remorse,
Flying over a great bay,

Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay,
Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay
Where were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay,
Where were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay.

Drake swing s the mic around and grabs it in the air

"And now for my next song, ONE WEEK"

It’s been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side
and said I’m angry
Five days since you laughed at me saying
Get that together come back and see me
Three days since the living room,
I realized it’s all my fault, but couldn’t tell you
Yesterday you’d forgiven me
But it’ll still be two days till I say I’m sorry

Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You’ll think you’re looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish,
Although I like the Chalet Swiss
I like the sushi
‘Cause it’s never touched a frying pan

Hot like wasabe when I bust rhymes
Big like Leann Rimes
Because I’m all about value
Bert Kaempfert’s got the mad hits
You try to match wits
You try to hold me but I bust through

Gonna make a break and take a fake
I’d like a stinkin, achin shake
I like vanilla, It’s the finest of the flavors
Gotta see the show,
Cause then you’ll know
The Vertigo is gonna grow
Cause it’s so dangerous,
You’ll have to sign a waiver

How can I help it if I think you’re funny when you’re mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I’m the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can’t understand what I mean?
Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt

It’s been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air and said you’re crazy
Five days since you tackled me
I’ve still got the rug burns on both my knees
It’s been three days since the afternoon
You realized it’s not my fault not a moment too soon
Yesterday you’d forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait till you say you’re sorry

Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin’
Watchin X-Files with no lights on,
We’re dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man’s in this one
Like Harrison Ford I’m getting Frantic
Like Sting I’m Tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy

Like Kurosawa I make mad films
Okay I don’t make films
But if I did they’d have a samurai
Gonna get a set of better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
Just so my irons aren’t always flying off the backswing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing

How can I help it if I think you’re funny when you’re mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I’m the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can’t understand what I mean?
You soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt

It’s been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides and said I’m sorry
Five days since I laughed at you and said
You just did just what I thought you were gonna do
Three days since the living room
We realized we’re both to blame, but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause it’ll still be two days till we say we’re sorry

It’ll still be two days till we say we’re sorry
It’ll still be two days till we say we’re sorry

"okokok now for my last song for today. It's called Jerry springer"

It's been one week since we got to see
Cheatin' lovers and cousins that marry
Five days since they had the show
With the hermaphrodite, the slut, and the crack ho
Three days since we heard the tale
About the guy who learned his woman was a she-male
Yesterday it occurred to me
That I've been watchin' a bit too much Jerry Springer

Holy cow, d'you see it last week?
Well, they had this one freak
Who sucker-punched his whole family
Do you recall when the brawl
Became a total free-for-all
And Jerry's in the middle tryin' to be the referee
Hey, see the stripper with the implants
She likes to lap dance
And date the boyfriend of her mother
Now here come's Jerry's next guest
And it's a slugfest
'Cause it's her trailer trash brother
Nymphomaniac is back on crack
It's like "When Animals Attack"
They all exhibit reprehensible behavior
Hit 'em in the nose, tear off their clothes
Step on their toes, that's how it goes
They get so violent they have to sign a waiver

They're always swearin', cursin', kickin' butt, and pointin' blame
On the air? They don't care, they've got no shame
There was one guy who I'm sure felt a little strange
When he found out that his wife had a sex change
They have a tendency to scream and yell constantly
They have a history of ripping off their shirts

It's been one week since they had the fight
With the Siamese twins and the transvestite
Five days since that awful brawl
They still haven't got the blood off the wall
It's been three days since the bitter fued
Between the KKK and that gay Jewish black dude
Yesterday, finally dawned on me
I'm spendin' way too much time on that Jerry Springer

Guy Guest : Baby, I've been sleepin' with your sister
Gal Guest : Oh? Well, which one?
Guy Guest : All of them
Gal Guest : Oh! Well, I've been sleepin' with your best friend Jake!
Guy Guest : Yah? Well, well me too!
Gal Guest : Oh!
Guy Guest : And I've sleepin' with your dog Woofie!
(barking)
Gal Guest : Woofie, you b-tch!
Gal Guest : Well, I'm also sleepin' with your pet goat!
(baaahhing)
Guy Guest : That goat doesn't love you!

Once you start watchin', there's just no stoppin'
Your brain shuts down, then your IQ's droppin'
Jerry's the king of confrontation
He's a sensation
He puts the 'sin' in syndication
It's totally worthless, like a bad check
It's like a train wreck
Don't wanna stare but you can't look away
Like Sally Jesse he does talk shows
But with more weirdos
The ratings jumpin' higher everyday
If you've seen the show, well then you know
It's just as low as you can go
The guests are tacky and they're lacking in their hygiene
And pretty soon some ugly goon
Comes in the room and then it's BOOM
In the face of some unsuspecting drag queen

Well it's the kind of show where people scream obscenities
Yankin' hair, throwin' chairs at their hubbies
"Jerry! Jerry!" Now the crowd starts their favorite chant
Should I turn off my TV? I just can't
I have a tendency to watch it religiously
I have a history of taping each one

It's been one week since the show about
Psycho killers with problems they should work out
Five days since the big surprise
When some loser's wife said she's still dating twenty guys
Three days wince he interviewed
A bunch of psychic porn star midgets who were all nude
Yesterday, it occurred to me
That I've been watchin' a bit too much Jerry Springer
Tired of wastin' my time on that Jerry Springer
I've got way too much class to watch Jerry Springer
Come over here and pull on my finger

"Thank you very much and now, because you have been a great audience ill sing one last song. its xalled THE SAGA BEGINS. "

A long, long time ago
In a galaxy far away
Naboo was under an attack
And I thought me and Qui-Gon Jinn
Could talk the federation into
Maybe cutting them a little slack
But their response, it didn't thrill us
They locked the doors and tried to kill us
We escaped from that gas
Then met Jar Jar and Boss Nass
We took a bongo from the scene
And we went to Theed to see the Queen
We all wound up on Tatooine
That's where we found this boy...

Oh my my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

Did you know this junkyard slave
Isn't even old enough to shave
And he can use the Force, they say
Ahh, do you see him hitting on the queen
Though he's just nine and she's fourteen
Yah, he's probably gonna marry her someday
Well, I knew he built C-3PO
And I've heard how fast his pod can go
And we were broke, it's true
So we made a wager or two
He was a prepubescent flyin' ace
And the minute Jabba started off that race
Well, I knew who would win first place
Oh yes, it was our boy

We started singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

Now we finally got to Coruscant
The Jedi Council we knew would want
To see how good the boy could be
So we took him there and we told the tale
How his midi-chlorians were off the scale
And he might fulfill that prophecy
Oh, the Council was impressed, of course
Could he bring balance to the Force?
They interview the kid
Oh, training they forbid
Because Yoda sensed in him much fear
And Qui-Gon said "Now listen here"
"Just stick it in your pointy ear"
"I still will teach this boy"

He was singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

We caught a ride back to Naboo
'Cause Queen Amidala wanted to
I frankly would've liked to stay
We all fought in that epic war
And it wasn't long at all before
Little Hotshot flew his plane and saved the day
And in the end some Gunguns died
Some ships blew up and some pilots fried
A lot of folks were croakin'
The battle droids were broken
And the Jedi I admire most
Met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast
Well, I'm still here and he's a ghost
I guess I'll train this boy

And I was singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

We were singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

Good night! Drake steped down from the stage.
