Dude! Mel Gibson has signed on for a new Mad Max movie!

You know what that means? Well, do you?

The return of the big, black, bad-hiney Falcon!

Oh yeah, I am so down with this film.

"Goota hand it to ya Max - the last of the V8 Interceptors"

Clevland 5.8l, Rootes based air clutch supercharger, toploader gearbox wrapped in a Aussie XC Hardtop with Cobra wing kit. The most seriously orgasmic bit of this car is that damn supercharger and it's air clutch. I'm tempted to say your gay if you dont drool over this thing's scream and it's open piped bellow.

No stuff it. You dont like the Interceptor, your gay. This is macho with a capital M.

Man I hope they have a Monaro or a newer Falcon. Blower out the bonnet too, with the air clutch. Ooooooooh yeah.

Oh, how I so want that engine. I would give, um, lots of things for it.

But, sadly, it is illegal to have that setup in the USA. Grrr... and me with a Falcon with an engine bay and driveline capable of handling it...

That is so unfair. I mean, look at this sexy beast! It is car muscle beauty incarnate!

That's illegal?????

Why?

Sejah Haversh
Dec 13th, 2002, 02:10:04 AM
Too powerful, was the reason. The engine was not built to US specs, and was deemed dangerous in vehicles here.

So, you Aussies got all the good ones, and the ones we got were the castrated ones, but we were told they were good because they hid the fact that yours were better. Many of those engines were made for use outside of my hemisphere.

Too powerful?

You got to be kidding me. What are you guys goign to think when some Aussie cars start landing in the USA next year? The Holden Monaro GTO (you see it as the Pontiac GTO), or the turbo Falcons????You minds are goign to melt - and even then your not seeing the Monaro 427 HRT - 7 litres of 420 Kw Porsche and Ferrari killer.

What are you goig to think when you realise the average family car in Australia can drop 14 sec quarters and do less than 10 L per 100 km? That Mum can have for 25,000 USD a wagon that can blast a WRX?

These are or normal family cars, not sports cars mind....

I think we're spoilt

We'll be kicking, no, wait, I will be kicking people saying, "See! Look! Awesome cars! Now, beat yourselves silly for not letting us have them the first time!"

The rest of the world just does not realize how good those cars are. I mean, who would want a Corvette or a suped up Mustang when they could have a Holden ANYTHING? Or an Aussie Falcon.

Marcus Telcontar

Wait till you get a load of the BA Falcon GT 300 Kw of 4 valve quad cam goodness.

Jeez, a blower on that would be earth shaking

Dec 13th, 2002, 02:22:14 AM
Stop it! Stop it, Marcus, you're going to make me go rob a bank or something!

The beauty of that car is so, oh, so miraculous... I want one. Please, Ford Motors Company, I'd be willing to trade in my old '67 Falcon for a new one. Really, think of it as gaining an antique. I won't mind, I assure you.

Oh, so much power, such understaded design. The ability to smoke a Camaro off, and DOWN the line in a family sedan is a thing of beauty.

Oh, and compare that Falcon's 300 Kilowatts of power to the 2001 Toyota Camry's 67. I dunno about you, but, I like 300 more than 67 by a long shot.

And the good thing about Aussie cars is that they handle and stop too. The BA Falcon is a truework. Even a Holden fan like me... I would want the BA XR6 Turbo. 4 litres of turbo fun. Apparently can be boosted to 350Kw without hurting the motor. Gearbox on the other hand......

The base XT starts with 184Kw with a 4 Litre twin cam 6.

The Holden Commodore gets a 157 Kw V6 baseline.

And then add superchargers and V8's.......

I really wish I knew what the hell you guys were talking about. But I'm a Jeep guy and I doubt I'll ever own anything but a Jeep.

:lol!!!

The only thing I care about when it comes to cars are

1 - it runs and doesn't break down constantly
2 - comfy interior
and...
3 - it's pretty :)

But...I don't know how to drive, so the bus is my "car" :lol

Yeah. The local uber-store has Mad Max on DVD in special edition, and I'm trying to count my pennies so that I can buy it. It is old and rather hokey in places, but....

That car...
