Sorry if this has been already been discussed in this forum or elsewhere, because I don't really roam far outside of the Roleplaying discussions, but are there any plans for the release of the Trilogy to be released on Dvd? I asked a guy at Blockbuster about it a few weeks ago and he tried to tell me something about Lucas having no plans on releasing them -- any light somebody can shed for me?

There won't be any official DVD release until after Episode 3 is released...so at least in 2005-06.

There are OT DVD bootlegs on ebay, but they're bootlegs. The quality can't be all that great, but if you're desperate, you may try there.

Supposedly the quality isn't that bad at all. Better than VHS, but not as good as DVD, or laserdisc for that matter.

I saw a set the other day that looked kind of weird. They had ROTJ artwork on the Empire DVD. (The great looking red poster with the big Vader and Luke & Vader battling). The ROTJ DVD had artwork from ESB! It made me think the whole thing was a bit shady.

Hmm... thanks for the information, but I believe I'll wait until there is an official release, which includes all of the special features.

Yeah, the covers are all mixed up, but then again, on the widescreen covers Leia on ANH is in her Bespin gown, Vader's TIE is on ESB's cover and the pic of Luke & Vader on the ROTJ cover is from ESB's duel.

I'm not touching those bootlegs. Just thought you might want to know what's out there. I get all dizzy when I think of all the special OT features they're bound to have.:rollin

Yeah, but if I bought the bootlegs, I'd also buy the real things when they came out.

I saw ht emovie over again, haven't seen it with the clips in. So Im not sure, but its very nice quality, and it was played on my X-Box, which makes it even better, not as much money as a dang DVD Player. I liked the movie alot, as I did the first time, Im going to tonight look at the disk 2 with the clips in...
