Yeah, I noticed that early this morning. Perhaps the host had some temporary glitch?

seems so.

I sent this email to the host last night(this morning)
Within the last two weeks there have been over 5 hours of downtime. Tonight'
s instance being one of the longer in duration that I have yet to experience
while using your hosting service. What is the cause for the extended
downtime so that I can explain to the users of my website?

We switched hosts to get away from a site with downtime problems and now
that we are experiencing them with semi regularity at a host that guaranteed
99.5% uptime in their package doesn't make my task of convincing them that
moving to this service was a good idea. I'm in a tough spot and need to be
able to offer a good explanation and assurances that this will not be a
continual problem.

Thanks for your time.

They replied with this:
Hello:

There was a main provider doing some maintenance. They are done working on it and it shouldn't be happening again. Ususally it's middle of night when this sort of thing happens. The servers have been online continuously.

I replied to that with:
The timing of the outages means little to me and my users, since a good
portion of them are international and our night time is their prime time. It
's the fact that in the last two weeks there have been over 5 to 6 hours of
downtime that troubles them and gets them on my back.

I got a reply from OC Hosting's CEO:
We had planned maintinance about 2 weeks ago (Replaced a bad fan in the core equipments Matrix 5000) between 0130 and 0330. This issue last night, however, was unplanned

so, in other words: "We don't have a valid explanation"

The outage affected all of COC Hosting's sites, including their sales pages. It was their ISP doing maintenance from what I gathered.

I replied to their last message with:
Thanks for the replies. This issue can be marked as resolved. I have
accomplished what I wished. I made my concerns and the users of my website's
concerns known. To which the CEO replied:
:) And TRUST ME.. I made some MAJOR concerns known to our upstreams ; )

My Personal Cell phone: 949-XXX-XXXXI do like how they treat their customers, and getting the CEO's personal cell # is a reassuring thing too. :)
