That is awful news, I didn't realise he was in his seventies. He will be missed sorely.

He did a great HBO film a few years back called Duel with Kirk Douglas that I loved. I just recently saw him in the old Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn classic Charade on AMC. I even bought The Magnificent Seven on DVD a few months ago. He is one of my Dad's favorite actors. He had a great voice as well. I'm pretty sure he was doing the voice overs for Chevy's 'Like A Rock' commercials. C'ya Coburn, thanks for the memories!

I thought he was great in Maverick, he has been is so many movies its hard to pick his best. I was also glad he got that Oscar a few years ago, he will be missed.

He was always my favourite in the Magnificent Seven, just ahead of Bronson. DItto the Great Escape. And then there was Payback and Maverick.

He was a great actor I think. You may also sign me me up on the list of people who loved his performance in Maverick. One of my all time favorite comedies.

Eh it wasn't too bad for a chick flick. Fried Green Tomatoes will always be better though. But its the same as Walter Mathau, his last movie was Hanging Up, which was arguably worse than Ya Ya, inspite of the fact that it has a better name.

I would like to go on record to say that is is James GARNER who is in the Ya Ya Sisterhood, not James Coburn. ^_^; oops!

I didn't think about it till now I didn't think Coburn was in Ya Ya but I hadn't seen the movie so I didn't know. I know Garner is still alive.
