Well, when you say decent, do you want top of the range? Is money of no object?

400 AUD is what I'm looking to max out on - but then again, it's for a home entertainment system, based around a PC, so maybe left of field expensive solutions may be okay.

I'm just not the hardware geek anymore and I just dont keep up with the latest

I'm very happy with mine. :)

I'd stay away from anything by Creative. I've been very dissatisfied with their driver support.

It might be called the Videologic Sonic Fury instead. Rest assured, its the same card.

Also, the Philips Acoustic Edge ( =D ) or Sonic Edge are solid choices.

The Hercules GameTheater XP is great if you can get it to work. Some driver issues there, but they generally work.

Gaming cards are pretty much the only way to go for Home theater setups. Both the Acoustic Edge and Sonic Fury/TBSC have digital out.

Also, ATI is the best for video playback. Get yourself a Radeon 9500 Pro when they come out.
