I have a question for those who know the books more, as I saw the movie, I was confused by one thing The thing with Tom Riddle being Lord Voldemort, I understood that he was, it was did he have complete memories of everything he did after he wrote that diary? He said he was just a memory I just couldn't fully get how he was completely Voldemort if you understand what I mean. Does the book go into more details about this?

It sorta does. I haven't seen the movie, but according the book I believe that the diary had all his memories and thus formed a person through the end of his tenure at Hogwarts.

no according to the books, gini weasley is in love with Harry and she is writing back and forth with him and she explains all about how Harry defeated Lord Voldermont. Tom Riddle is all the memories of Voldermont tell he leaves hogwarts but him knowing about everything that happened afterewards he got from Gini writing him

does that help

That makes a lot of sense Dizzy thanks. I think I will pick up the book and read it too, and I might just go ahead and read the next two since it will be two years before the next Harry Potter movie will be coming out.

Two years? I thought they were one a year like Lord of the Rings.

Well as the book go on the story gets more complex, I guess they will need more time for filming and pre-production for the next installment. And remember that Rowling is being extremely slow writing part 5, so if they keep making movies each year they will run out of material soon.

I think that is why they haven't started on 3 yet. I think the current plan is to film 3 and 4 in back to back years (3 to come out in 2004, 4 in 2005) then take a year off, and pray she has finished 6 by then and then film 5 and 6 (5 would come out in 2007 and 6 in 2008) finally 8 would come out in 2011 I think. Man, I hope the kids haven't out grown the parts by then.

They will have. Didn't you notice the difference in them in THIS movie? Pre-pubescents go through about a million changes in five years. You're talking going from 12 years old to 20 years old. :lol Unless thats the ages she's writing them as.

I think they will be 18 in book 8 and heck 20 year olds have played 18 year olds a lot, think of the Scream movie some of them were playing nearly 30 playing teenagers

Of course they're going to have outgrown the characters! Maybe the last batch of movies could be about Harry Potter's little boys!

That is what Columbus think, he feels they will stop after 4 or maybe 5, who knows maybe they will get them all made. Also are there only going to be 7 books? I thought I read somewhere 8?

Last I heard there would only be 7. I also thought I read somewhere that she was basically done with book 5, but wanted to make some last minute revisions, so maybe she isn't as slow in getting this one out as we thought...

Where have you heard that Dizzy?!?!?!?!???!?!?! I need that book so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are only going to be 7 books, because their school only has 7 years. She might do an after school thing, but nothing has been mentioned. I think she has planned these books only up until 7 so I think that is a pretty safe bet.

That makes sense, have to see if they can finish the movies. I guess they could end at four or five and change the ending so they could ending so it would wrap up better.

If they're doing more than just one (which obviously they are ;) ) they should go all the way and do all seven, IMO. Unless the same actors won't work. I'd hate it to turn into a Land Before Time Sequel thing, where the little dinosaurs look slightly different and sound completely different each movie...

:x

No they must complete it and change nothing!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! The books are perfect as they are and should stay the same!

I think a lot of it will depend on how fast Rowling gets the books out, if after they completed four she has finished 7 then I think they probably could film 5-7 back-to back and let them come out on a yearly basis. Of course if here writing slows down, I doubt they could keep the actors from aging.

LOL, they probably couldn't get them unfrozen though. Heck they got a mess with part three they already working on it and I think their main problem is in replacing Harris.

Not yet. :p Besides I'll never be that rabid, I guarantee it. I'd much rather read the next opus from George R. R. Martin :D

Well you should read them (though I am not trying to influence you in any way). They are all very good, escpecially the fourth one (WHICH NEEDS TO BE A MOVIE SO BAD! THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS I NEED TO SEE FLESHED OUT!)

Oh I am sure I would......but I would be heartbroken if I didn't see them, just like we would all be if they stopped making Episode 3.

Didn't mean to scare you :(

But I find the HP series so magical. It really makes me happy to see movies like that being made.
