Everyone wants to walk on eggshells, afraid to hurt someone's feelings. But having to walk on eggshells means you lose a lot of the ability to have a friendly and fun atmosphere. I really wish this place had an amtosphere more like TTLG (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/) There, the admins get down and chat with the posters without the fear that something they said will be taken the wrong way, everyone gives each other a friendly ribbing and yes, there's even some friendly insulting going on.

For example: There's one image which reads "Old Hat, Mother****er". They post the image when a thread has already been posted before. :) Everyone gets a laugh out of it there. On this board, it would start a 10 page argument.

Now, I'm not saying we should be going around posting an image like that here at SWFans - we're not exactly the same. But walking on eggshells really gets tiresome.

As is usual, when it involves Dara it becomes a great big drawn out drama that sucks in her troops from the woodwork. As you saw, we had the sudden appearances of several posters who have not been active here for months or evenb longer than that. Why I ask? Most likely because they heard through the grapevine that someone was offended and they rallied to her cause.

I have now received a several PMs and a few emails, only one of which from a currently active member of this community complaining about this, and its pretty sad to see so much effort being put in to discredit the staff here.

I know for a fact that there have been many threads at the SWR board before its closure trashing the staff members of this board, yet we didn't bombard there administration with complaints, or more often than not, even post regarding the matter. Why the hell do they have to pop up all of the sudden? Oh wait, to make hemselves look better than us......yeah sure.

Drama queens the lot of them. I'm too busy visiting with family that I only get to see every few years to reply to all these PMs or emails right now, and at this point am not certain how to respond. I want to tell them to get the hell over it and crawl back into the shadows they crawlled out of, but will probably decide on something else eventually.

The drama and the ones who now operate SWRPG never seem to stray far apart. It really is still quite comical to watch unfold without end.

I believe the thread to be nothing more than a flame bait and the posts it incited thereafter did nothing more than provide an outlet to flame someone who does not post at the board. Here is the thread I refer to:

I am lodging a formal complaint that a SWFans Moderator, Sanis Prent, used privileged moderator information regarding my login status/visitation habits/lurking status in an attempt to expose me in an unprofessional display of harassment/embarrassment. I also would like to point out that this thread and treatment of myself comes unprovoked by me and takes the stance of being "on behalf of the mods and admins of SWFans" as if it were a consensus of staff sentiment being conveyed regarding those who choose to login and read, but not post.

Although my full roleplay name was not defined, the reference was
unmistakable. When the thread first started, Sanis posted the initials of my character, "D.S." but then edited it after approximately 15 minutes (see the time of the edit by Sanis in the first post) to just refer to the first name of my roleplay character as "D". You can ask Figrin D'An to confirm the D.S. vs. D editing if you would like to. Figrin saw the first version and the edited version. I don't have any reason to hide my presence at SWFans from the staff.. I'm not banned and I am not harassing anyone.. I'm just reading. I have indeed visited every day for over 6 months.

Words such as "coward" and "laughable" were used in reference to "D", and "D" and was ridiculed for being seen by the staff logging in and visiting SWFans every day for the past 6 months. The last thread I posted in at SWFans was in the Storytelling forum in the thread called Crusade: ShadowFire and the date/time of that last post was 06-16-02 04:49 AM. That was well over 8 months ago since TSE split from SWFans and went to SWR.

I do log in and read SWFans every day. I am not banned from the board nor am I there in a malicious way. I stay on invisible mode so that the regular posters will not be disturbed or distracted by my presence. I also log in because I am awaiting contact from an old friend whom I do not know the exact date of their return. I believe they will come looking for me at SWFans so it is there that I will faithfully visit until their arrival. Who knows, we may want to create new characters to post there since they enjoyed the SWFans forum alot.

I typically stay logged in at SWFans and never do the logout process. My Control Panel user options are set to make me invisible online, however as an admin of my own vBulletin board, I realize that does not make me invisible to the moderators/admins of SWFans. I have continued to respectfully abide by the initial agreement by Sums and you for those of us with past differences to not post at SWFans, and that is why there was no post by me in the thread in question tonight.

I was unaware that I was in any violation of the rules of the forum by
logging in and reading while on invisible status, and I would like to
request for this matter to be looked into by you personally if possible. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon regarding this important matter.

I’m sorry, but I see no issue that would raise any grave concern.

No one has said you cannot read threads on the board, just as no one has said that you cannot post on the board if you wish. Whatever agreement you say existed between Sums and myself has no bearing on your posting at Fans or not, because the agreement he and I made was between the two of us, not any one else..

If you were a currently active and/or contributing member of our community I would have more sympathy in this instance, but as it is there isn’t a single bit of harm done to anyone here.

I have seen things just as bad if not worse about the SWFans staff at the SWR board and even the SWRPG board, yet I never raised any formal complaint, because I am not a part of that community and what others want to say about me at a place I have no active part in is their concern not mine.

There will be no action taken and no apologies given. Making a big drama out of this situation is completely needless and a waste of your time as well as mine.

And when I brought this up to them, they told me that I don't post there so it's none of my business (I believe the exact phrase they used was along the lines of "Why come here to post when you know that most of us don't like you?"). She has less than no right to whine, IMHO.
