Yes, Marcus, I loved that bit... I thought this version really reinforced the idea that initially Aragorn is a reluctant heir... moreso than Elrond's "He turned from that path a long time ago. He has chosen exile." line. The scene with his mother's grave, and him singing about Beren and Luthien... just beautiful.

Well, I have spend an ungodly amount of time goingthorugh 4 discs - havent even gotten to the fifth!. 3 days so far and not on repeated play on anything. This is an amazing amout of stuff - good and worthwhile stuff - they shovelled on. Best DVD set released ever by a mile, just for the additions and the special features.

And the really great part about the added stuff is that, for the most part, it's not just a rehash of another special, it really is stuff we haven't seen before. And of course the easter eggs of the mtv spoof of the council scene is... interesting.

The added scenes really give the film a lot more depth and sense in spots. I'm really pleased. I have the only other thing I want on my list.

I got the SE of LOTR the other day... I really liked the extended/added scenes.. Aragorn.. singing.. :mischief

Some of those things, I swear were in the trailer, like when the elfs give the Fellowship the cloaks.. and the wood-elfs leaving middle earth.
