I doubt I'll be bringing home 10 wins this week. I'm finally going against the Dolphins and they'll probably get their act together. The Redskins play halfway decent every other week so they'll probably up end the Giants. N.O. probably isn't going to get swept by the Falcons, but I'm still going with Vick and the boys at home. The Niners will probably continue the Charger's slide, but I'm letting anti Niner sentiment and home field cloud my judgement. The Jets have looked better, but you never know. Finally, Oakland looks like it's ready to step up and play some decent ball. That rematch is the game of the week. The Oakland fans are going to be calling for blood.

Man, I could win big this week or barely break .500.

I think I'm going to cry if Green Bay chokes this weekend. They're dominately better then Minnesota in every facet of the game, so on paper, they should pummel the Vikings... but they aways find ways to suck when playing at the Metrodome, no matter how good they are and how bad Minnesota might be.

Moe picked the Atlanta Falcons.

It was Carl or Lenny that picked Denver.

A combination of their traditional trouble at Minn. and this season's curse of being labeled "the best team in the league" doomed them. We BOTH should have gone with our instincts. But hey, at least Atlanta pulled through for me. :)

Figrin D'an
Nov 17th, 2002, 05:20:44 PM
I'm just hoping that the loss will be enough to motivate them to a win against Tampa Bay next week...

The Eagles are in deep trouble now... they'll need to get some major production from Staley and Levens if they want to stay on top in the NFC East, and hope that they get McNabb back in time for the playoffs.

Pittsburgh could now be in the same boat... nothing has been said yet about the seriousness of Maddox's injury, but it's hard to believe that he will be on the field next week. Stewart, once again, may have a chance at redemption.

JonathanLB
Nov 17th, 2002, 05:23:56 PM
I don't want to jinx it or anything *knock on wood*, but if the Niners hold their 10 point lead, they will almost surely be considered the league's best team.

The Niners are for real.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 05:44:38 PM
The Eagles are done. Withouy McNabb that team will be lucky win 2 more games. The Giants should be able to take that division now. Now it looks like the Dolphins are going to finish off the Ravens. Friggin' Dolphins, I should have known. >(

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 05:45:44 PM
Don't go that far Jonathan, they'd be top 5 but not the top team in the league. Sadly the Packers are probably still better and the Bronco's are still one of the best. Eagles would be up there but without McNabb its hard to put them there.

I really don't think any one team can be classified as the Leagues best, this season has been way too up and down and its obvious any team can lose to any other at the drop of a hat.

I had considered taking the Vikings as well but its still too long of a shot IMO to base the pick on it, and if your wrong then everyone else gets a free game up on you....not fun!

Figrin D'an
Nov 17th, 2002, 05:47:04 PM
There isn't a league's best team this year... every week, the experts pin the label on someone new... there are a lot of good teams that will jockey for playoff seeding, but there is no one team that is dominant and a clear-cut choice to be in the Super Bowl. It'll make the stretch run that much more interesting, though, which will make for many exciting games.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 06:48:47 PM

What does everybody think of the Falcons? I've been watching them because of Vick, and I have to say they've made huge strides since the beginning of the season. Their defense has been solid all season, and now Vick and Dunn are clicking. They've swept the tough Saints. They could make some noise this year.

JonathanLB
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:05:34 PM
They are still the best team in the league, there is no doubt in my mind of that.

Playoff time, they will prove it.

Who is better? The Bucs? No, their defense isn't even as good as the Niners, and their offense is much worse. The Packers? Garcia has a better QB rating, Niners have a stronger defense, they're the better team. New Orleans? Two losses to the Falcons? I think not. Miami? Yeah, right, not after the last few weeks (nice win this time though).

This game was already decided. The Niners won 17-10, but the refs screwed up yet another game despite this great replay system. Of course, you cannot challenge (by replay) that type of call, so it doesn't do any good. That pass interference call was total nonsense! The ball was uncatchable just as the announcers said, but the refs screwed it up and there we go to overtime.

THEN, of all things, that F****t Cortez missed yet another key field goal. I really hate him, I just hate his guts. I wish he'd be thrown off the 49ers team plane at 30,000 feet and would fall to his death like the little <smallfont color={hovercolor}>-Censored-</smallfont> piece of crap he is. WORST. KICKER. EVER.

I've never seen anyone worse than him and I watch both college football and pro football. He is unacceptably awful. What good is ANY football team that has no field goal capability? You cannot win games like that.

So I will say that unless the Niners get rid of him immediately, they are not the leagues best team, but if they bring in this other dude, they will be ok, even if the other guy is only mediocre, at least he won't suck this bad.

The point stands that the Niners outplayed the Chargers and should have won that football game, but through a poor call and (most of all) Cortez's idiocy, they managed to snatch defeat from the hands of victory.

The Niners are just such a vastly superior team to the frickin' Chargers, who are nothing but a bunch of little whiny losers. They are not a tough team whatsoever, falling down all over the place, injuries left and right, they are like little peewee football players. It was pitiful. I can't believe the Niners let a game like that slip away. They should all be ashamed and most of all, they should take that wussy Cortez and shove him into one of the Chargers lockers and leave him in San Diego. If he somehow gets on the plane, they should push him out of the cargo bay door.

On the plus side, I did well this week. Got most everything right except the unpredictable upsets (ahem, you suck Green Bay, New Orleans, and you idiotic POS Cortez I'm going to hunt you down like the cockroach you are!).

Jedieb

Falcons and Chargers, paying off big for me this week! If only I'd kept faith in the Fins....>_<

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:05:55 PM
I see that Jedieb, should be interesting there, I have no clue who is going to win, so it should be interesting. As far as Atlanta, well I honestly am not sure about them, they will not win that division, I think the Bucs will do that, they could easily get a wild card though.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:08:36 PM
That ball wasn't uncatchable Jon. Even with the Niner defender grabbing his shirt and pulling him down, he was only 6 or 8 inches from the ball. Unimpeded, he could have jumped up and gotten a hand on the ball. :)

Let's see all the best team in the league candidates that lost this week:
Packers
Niners
Steelers
Saints

Four strong teams all coming away as losers. What the hell is going on here!

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:10:51 PM
I took some risk with Tennessee and that payed off. The Titans are starting to come on, I think they would be a team to watch that AFC South is going to be a dog fight. Then there is my Chiefs, they won a close game with the Pesky Bills, they got the Seattle next, and they should win that game. Arizona at home is very winnable and the Rams they could beat too, then they would be 8-5 and would need to win 2 of there last 3 to make the playoffs, I honestly think they can do it. At worst it looks like they will be a very competive 8-8 team.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:14:00 PM
Rams/KC should be a barn burner. Is Vermeil going back to St. Louis or is the game at KC?

Figrin D'an
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:17:05 PM
Sounds like a lot of sour grapes, Jon. The Chargers are a pretty good team. They stayed close the entire game, and made plays when they needed to. San Fran is a pretty good team. One of the better ones in the league at the moment. But there are a lot of teams that can match up with and be competitive against them. Saying that San Diego sucks and that the 49ers lost the game because they played poorly just flat isn't true.

Figrin D'an
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:20:07 PM
BTW, the latest reports say that Tommy Maddox has regained feeling throughout his arms and legs, and was conscious and alert, but will be held overnight in the hospital for observation.

Hope he is okay. He's been one of the best "feel-good" stories in the league this year.

JMK
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:20:24 PM
Supposed "best teams" dont need overtime to win a game. And if they do, they put it away early, regardless of what the refs are up to.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:20:29 PM
The Rams-Chiefs is in KC again, last time they played there the Chiefs put 50 points on the Rams, not sure if that will happen again. At least the Chiefs' defense is playing better, if there offense could just start scoring more points than we be getting somewhere.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:32:44 PM
I missed the Maddox injury because I wasn't watching that game closely. That's good news. The Steelers really need him. Kordell is not the QB that can take them to the Superbowl.

Jon, there's no way you can say SD sucks. That's just silly. Like Figrin said, they stayed close throughout the game. They dominated that 4th quarter. If not for Brees' endzone INT the game might have been won in regulation.

JMK
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:36:16 PM
The Bolts may be a good team, but the Niners should not have blown that lead!

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:38:56 PM
And SD never should have blown their lead against the Rams last week. Great comebacks are happening every week.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:39:12 PM
Hey I think the Chiefs should have beaten the 49ers last weekend, they lost that game themselves, Holmes should have had 2 long runs for TDs instead some lineup was called for holding and in both cases wouldn't have affected the outcome of the run.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:48:34 PM
Exactly, the Niners haven't been blowing everybody out of the water. They could have lost opening weekend to the Giants. They're winning, but they're winning a lot of their games by close margins. They're a good team, but not the best in the league.

JMK
Nov 17th, 2002, 07:59:45 PM
Fair enough, but no one is saying DS or STL are the best teams in the league either. ;)

This parity-laden NFL is making my head spin.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 08:05:17 PM
I agree with you. I honestly can't pick a frontrunner right now. But even last year, who were the two best teams in the league, the Rams and the Steelers? Only one of those made it to the Superbowl and they didn't even win. I really think any playoff team could get hot in late Dec. and make a run to the big game. That's why a team like KC can be so dangerous. If they make it in they could ride that explosive offense to the big game.

JMK
Nov 17th, 2002, 08:11:49 PM
I've always been a preacher of defense winning championchips, and that's how I gear my ladies softball practices. It must work, I'm 2 for 2! ;)

But offense is always more exciting to watch. And of course, if you can score 80 points, who needs defense? :lol

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 09:14:08 PM
The Niners haven't been close to dominant. They've had some good wins, they've had some ugly wins and they've had some losses. Last year they did very well but weren't as good as their record.

Niners lost, regardless of when or how it happened it happened, they lost as a team and a loss is a loss. Tampa Bay could be considered the best, very good defense and a moderate offense, that paid off big time for the Ravens. Bucs could be the best team going into next week, course then they'll probably lose by like 30.

Man my poor Pats, they've shot themselves in the foot in this game. The Raiders have had one really good first half drive and that was helped by a very lucky bounce, so the Pats aren't doing too badly just gotta take advantage of those opportunities that they've missed. I mean 2 long bombs that were touchdowns...d'oh! Course that Brady fumble doesn't help, that one really hurts.

They can come back and win this, lets see how bad they want it. The way things are going now I'd have to say the Raiders will win, the Pats have a shot but unless they start making something happen then they're gonna drop this one.

Good news they'd only be one game behind Miami so still in the thick of the playoff hunt.

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 09:15:04 PM
Oh and those Falcons, very impressive. I don't think theres a team right now that the Falcons couldn't take and come playoffs thats going to be scary. Who's gonna want to play them?

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 09:25:34 PM
I'm just amazed at how well Vick has taken care of the ball. The INT I saw him throw today wasn't his fault. The receiver fell making his cut and that caused the INT. He's also got some of the best game speed I've ever seen. A lot of guys are fast, but they can't go full speed quickly, Vick can. He's much farther along then I thought he was going to be. He could be a yearly MVP candidate starting next year.

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 09:26:50 PM
Vick is flat out awesome, his lack of interceptions is very impressive for his first full year of being a starter.

Ok 2nd half, lets make a play Pats!

Game over....
The Raiders defense really played well tonight. They were all over Brady. The offense should just run a couple of minutes off the clock now and put the game away. Although with the Pats you never know...

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 10:47:33 PM
Yeah this ones pretty much over, the Raiders defense played very well. THe offense had its moments but it wasn't that impressive, the Raiders D did all the tough work in this one.

Sadly the Pats had their shots and pooched them between the two missed TD's and the fumble.

Note for the draft next year, get some big D Lineman so you can actually put some pressure on the QB. They've been awefull this year and have hardly put any pressure on the QB, that is so key and they've been awefull at it this year.

The Pats schedule is fairly easy the rest of the year so they can get back in it, this game could have been totally different so if the Pats play the Raiders again in the playoffs I think they could take them.

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 10:47:50 PM

LOL...gotta love the Pats, never know whats gonna happen.

Jedieb
Nov 17th, 2002, 10:51:52 PM
That was a horrible onside kick. The Pats didn't deserve to even have a chance here at the end. They didn't score an offensive TD and their offense was dominated by Oakland's D. But their special teams and defense made some plays. Now it's really over, finally!

jjwr
Nov 17th, 2002, 10:52:40 PM
Well thats game. Would have been nice to pull off the win but the Raiders out-played them and deserve the win.

The line played awefull this game, last year they came together so strongly but this year its been so makeshift that people have been getting all over Brady.

Decent game though, they had their shots and if they had made a few plays could have easily won this game but didn't get them, thats the NFL :)

Yeah the kick sucked, as they said with 1 player on 3 Raiders why bother, just kick it to the other side and hope for the best.

Yup they sucked that game, that was also their 3rd straight Road game so I'm sure that was taking its toll on them, glad they took 2 out of 3 on the road trip.

FINALLY! A good week, I waited HOW LONG for this now? Jesus, I suck this year, but I have recovered well after that terrible start I had I think...

"JonathanLB: 12-3"

That's so nice looking, but you know I want to see 13-3. I think I will, though, I mean St. Louis is at home if I remember correctly and Chicago sucks, the Rams are recovering.

That Oakland pick was excellent, I finally had luck on my side for once.

Looks like we all had a good week, spare a few exceptions, but mostly good. You know, I was thinking of calling that Vikings over GB upset, but I'm not that gutsy. I just don't have the balls to call those ;) I stick to the odds and hope I get more right than wrong...

Maddux; concussion & bruised spinal cord (career, season, weeks, who knows?)
Griese; knee (4-5weeks)
McNab; broken ankle (8 weeks)

The bodies are piling everywhere! Denver may be in the best situation. Berlien(sp?) should be able to carry the team for a month. Although this injury could cost the Broncos their lead in the division. Maybe some Bronco fans shouldn't have been so proud of knocking Fieldler out for a few games. ;) The Steelers have a proven QB in Kordell. Unfortunately, what he's proven is that he's inconsistent and incapable of carrying a team if the running game falls apart. The Eagles however are DONE. There's little chance of Detmer leading that team. It's not that he's that bad a QB, it's that McNab is that GOOD. Aside from the Packers, no team relies on their QB more. Even with McNab the Eagles were inconsistent. I think they'll now be consistently BAD. The Giants should be able to win this division now.

No pop up here.......damn I am in 4th place now.......:(

Oh and the Pack showed me something today......Favre has bad day=Pack loss. Without Favre that team is a bunch of nobody's.....sorry to say it but it is true.....

Vick is just plain scary....did you see that 70 yard touchdown pass he threw! Damn! He was on the run and kinda just flung it and it goes half the distance of the football field. That is amazing! :D

As for the 49ers.....they are a good team, but they are not great and I would say they are not the best team in the NFL. Sorry I just can't see it.....

Now to the fins (you had to know I would go here) I couldn't watch the game because they have broken my heart these last three games, but watching the highlight reel showed me that they are a pretty good team. Lucas seems to have found his quarterback skills this past week and they came out strong, escpecially on defense. 7 sacks! That is not something to laugh at. Though I think the defense has been rather good despite the losses. If Ray can come out for the next couple of games, at least until Fiedler returns, and can play strong, this team has a good chance of rolling strong into the playoffs......I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and my eyes closed.

The steelers and the Eagles? Both teams are out of it...I will be surprised if they can do good with those injuries they suffered. Denver as a good chance of keeping up there winning ways because Beurlein is their backup and they dont rely to heavily on their QB's.

The Chargers looked good and the teams that can squeek out those wins late in the game, are the kinds of teams that go to the Superbowl.....lets see if they can keep it up.

The Raiders looked awesome....and the Patriots looked like chumps. No offensive touchdowns????? You can't win games like that.

The Chiefs looked good, but so did the damn Bills. Grrrrr. I hate the Bills.

And what about those Jets?!?!?!?!??! Where have they come from all of a sudden. That is a team that is not that good, but somehow finds ways of beating teams. Then again they played the Lions so.....hmmmmm......I don't know how convincing that is.

No, I don't get it.

I'm all the way down in 7th now. Going down like the Titanic! :(

As sad as the Giants are, it's amazing that now they will have a golden opportunity to win their division. That's nuts!
And it looks like Michael Vick is starting to be a ticket draw all on his own. How many in Atlanta yesterday? 70+ thousand? That's ridiculous! I was at the CFL Eastern conference final yesterday and there were 57,125 there yesterday and I thought that was alot!

Jedieb
Nov 18th, 2002, 10:11:16 AM
The Falcons owner and Dan Reeves have done a pretty good job with a franchise that hit bottom after their Superbowl appearance. Reeves had the smarts to draft Vick, and the new owner actually lowered ticket prices to help bring fans back to the stadium. I think some seats are actually only $10! That dome will be an awful place to play if it's continually packed like that.

I think home field advantage, for what its worth, is going to be tight. The Niners look like they have a soft schedule that could give them 13 or 12 wins. Tampa, GB, and NO have some tough games. They're also playing each quite a bit so SF could jump past all of them and gain home field throughout the playoffs. GB is the team that would benefit the most from home field. That's why GB V. Bucs is going to be the game of the week. That game could make the difference between Warren Sapp having to chase Favre on the fronzen tundra in the playoffs or the new Sombrero. That should be an AWESOME game. Go Bucs!

The AFC is just a mad house. I think there's only a couple of teams with records below .500! So almost everyone has a shot at a playoff spot. These last few weeks should be pretty sweet.

jjwr
Nov 18th, 2002, 10:25:25 AM
4th Place...I'm making my run!

The AFC is crazy, with the exception of the Bengals and Texans there are no soft teams and thats why everyone has such similar records, no gimme's to boost their records on like the NFC has. Figure Vikings, Cardinals, Giants, Lions, Panthers are all roll-overs.

From here on out will be key for every AFC team, the AFC East will be very tough, luckily the Pats have 3 of their last 4 vs the Jets, Dolphins & Bills so they can write their own ticket if they can just pull out some wins.

Jedieb

Whoever comes out of the NFC East will probably be nothing more than playoff road kill. Even McNab is ready to start, he may be so rusty and gimpy that he'd get killed. The Eagles will more than likely be on the road and that won't help matters.

The AFC could send some teams with average records (Steelers, Colts), but they've got so much parity that the records are result of tough opponents, not poor play.

I wouldn't put much stock into the Packers troubles on Sunday. They always lose in the Metrodome. It's a mental block. Even in the Packer's back-to-back Super Bowl apperance years, they lost badly against the Vikings in the dome each year. It's bascially expected. It's a matter of seeing how they rebound now. If they win against that tough Tampa Bay defense, they'll be right back in the driver's seat again for home field.

The Eagles aren't finished, but they'll struggle down the stretch. If they manage to go 3-3, they should still make the playoffs. Then, if they get McNabb back, they'll be just as tough as any other team in the NFC. The defense needs to step up, though. The Giants are right on Philly's heals, and could overtake them in the next two weeks.

Atlanta, even if they don't make the playoffs, could ruin the season for someone. New Orleans could tumble if they don't shake off getting "Vicked" twice this season. The only "locks" for the NFC playoffs (if you can even use that term this year) are Tampa Bay, Green Bay and San Francisco. It'll be a mad scramble for the other three spots.

One would have a better chance of picking the AFC playoff teams through drawing straws than through on-the-field performance. The only ones discounted are Houston and Cincinnati... in the last 6 weeks, anything could happen. The rest of the AFC East better watch for the Jets though. They're playing the best football in that division at the moment.

Don't diss the Bronco's there a great team and Steve Beuerlein is a great back up he through two touch down pass in seahawks game and this was he first seasonal game in like Two or three years.

I haven't heard the word on Greise's Knee last I heard its just a sprane which won't keep him out long.

AFC will have get there Butts kicked majorly in order almost all there teams not to make it to the payoff. Right know I could maybe Kansas city Get knocked off at this point but there doing exceptional.

while griese is a better QB then steve i think the broncos are still in good possition because steve can get the job done considering he has that great offensive line in front of him a good running back and a good defense to back him up

heres the info on griese
Brian Griese's sprained left knee will keep him out of Denver's lineup against Indianapolis next weekend and could sideline him for three weeks.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said his quarterback will not practice this week after being injured in a 31-9 victory over Seattle on Sunday. Griese was hurt late in the third quarter when Seattle defensive tackle Rocky Bernard rolled into his knee.

The Broncos initially said Griese could be out up to a month, but lowered the estimate Monday after an MRI exam showed a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament.

"It might be a little quicker than we first anticipated with three to four weeks,'' Shanahan said. "You never know for sure until he actually gets treatment and we see how he reacts to it. But Brian's tough. He'll get back as soon as he can.''

Shanahan said the good news was that Griese didn't have much swelling or a dramatic loss of motion that typically comes with such an injury. He said Griese's return will depend on how quickly the ligament stabilizes.

"I'm sure it's the stability of the knee,'' Shanahan said. "A lot of guys can play with pain, but when it's not stable and you can't make the cuts, you can't put too much pressure in that area.''

Steve Beuerlein, who threw two four-quarter touchdown passes in relief of Griese, will start against the Colts on Sunday night.

It will be the 37-year-old Beuerlein's first start since the final game of the 2000 season, when he played for Carolina. He missed last season with an elbow injury.

"I've been in this position so many times in my career I know how to handle it, I believe,'' said Beuerlein, who's in his 16th season. "I'll be very focused and very determined to go out there and keep an even keel. I'm going to go in there confident, poised and ready to execute whatever's asked of me, and hopefully do my job at a level that's acceptable to everybody.''

Shanahan nearly replaced Griese with Beuerlein in the third quarter of Denver's season-opener against St. Louis, but he said Monday there's little doubt who will start once Griese is healthy again.

"No questions asked -- unless Steve plays really well,'' Shanahan joked. "I just figured you'd have nothing to write about for a few days, so I thought I'd stir it up a little bit. Brian will get his job back.''

Figrin D'an
Nov 18th, 2002, 10:01:26 PM
The Rams are winning 14-6 at the half, but they don't really look very impressive. Bulger missed one series because he bruised the index finger on his throwing hand, so Warner actually played a few downs. They'll probably pull away in the second half. Next week will be a much more accurate time to gauge them for the stretch run.

JMK
Nov 18th, 2002, 10:06:14 PM

Although... the Bears took the opening drive for a touchdown, and did so rather impressively and methodically. They kicked the extra point, instead of going for the two point conversion to tie... I'm not sure I agree with that strategy...

Warner has to earn his keep each game, as far as I'm concerned.

Right now, he is one of the worst quarterbacks in this entire league this season. He SUCKS. Until I see that he can play this year, then I don't have any respect for his ability to keep the Rams going.

This Bulger dude is obviously a lot better this year. He's actually turned the team around and deserves credit for the Rams not absolutely sucking, but being a mediocre team.

Giants in the playoffs....scary. They're such a boring team to watch too, being near NY the Fox affiliate seems to think it needs to show every Giants game rather than a good game and my god are they boring. I like watching football but quite often will just not watch if the Gaints are on.

Its like watching the Knicks or Heat in Basketball...blech!

Bronco's may do ok, Buerlein had some very good years and may be able to run things without any problems. Its not like Griese has been a franchise QB the past few years, heck he was almost pulled on opening day.

Rams, curious to see how they do. Warner deserves a shot at his job back. The whole team sucked those first 5 games and the play calls were awefull, had they given Faulk the ball 25+ times a game I'm sure they would have won some and Warner would have had better numbers. The guys the reigning MVP, he deserves his shot.

The lead is mine with only 5 weeks remaining! Victory is within my grasp! Now, like most of the "best" teams in the NFL, I will probably go down in spectacular flames...:x

Everyone, including Jon's blind monkey, has been doing better as the season has progressed. By now, you get a feel for teams and how they match up for certain games. Aside from upsets, what's going to trip me up is sentimentality. I've been able to control it with the Cowboys because they suck so bad I rationally can't pick them to win very often. The Bucs are a different story however. They've got some big games against some tough teams and I'm bound to go with them every time because I've been rooting for that team and its defense for years. Then there's the Niners and other teams I hate. I can't let emotions make me pick against them in games I know they should win.

Thank the maker for DirecTV and Sunday NFL Ticket. I can watch any game I want and not have to suffer through weekly Redskin telecasts. I'd go insane if I had nothing but Skins and Panthers all season.

In the AFC they either show Tennessee or Jacksonville or a lot of times the best game on.
