Okay time to get started, weekend three is upon and this time it is a Harry Potter weekend bonus. So whoever guesses Harry Potter the closest gets double points, for a possible 50 points that should improve one of your scores. Okay you have until Saturday 9AM or around that to get your guesses in, good luck.

Damnit Yog. I hate you. I wanted the highest Potter guess. :(

Master Yoghurt
Nov 16th, 2002, 02:13:17 PM
Looking at Friday estimate, I think neither of us will do any good on Harry Potter. 97 or 101 million seems too high.

(If you REALLY want the highest Harry Potter figure, we could trade our #1 predictions ;))

Admiral Lebron
Nov 16th, 2002, 02:59:01 PM
I think it will hit in the 95-105 area.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 16th, 2002, 05:32:31 PM
I say it makes between 85-90, which will make it tough because all but two picked it between that range, (I went a little higher, I took in inflation :p) It also looks like we all will finally get the five films right. SC 2 was only like 100 thousand behind the Ring and it will do better on Saturday and Sunday to get it pass the Ring (It has done this the last two weekends) Now we will have to wait till Monday to see who gets those double points.

JMK
Nov 16th, 2002, 05:58:57 PM
Well if 85 and 90 is what it makes then I may have a chance!

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 01:39:27 PM
Here are the estimates
Harry Potter 2 87.69
8 Mile 21.33
Santa Clause 2 15.06
The Ring 11.03
Half Past Dead 8.20

Well it looks like it is between JMK and Sene if the estimate holds and it isn't off by more than a million. Everybody will get 25 points at least because everybody got the top 5 right.

ReaperFett
Nov 17th, 2002, 01:43:07 PM
Santa Clause 2 looks good for me, but 8 Mile was WAY off :)

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 01:55:41 PM
8 Mile Tanked badly, also I was wrong it looks like Dizzy is pretty close, (he posted before Yog posted the theater counts so I didn't see it) It will depend on if they over predicted or not, if they did JMK wins if not Dizzy takes it Sene would only win if they underpredicted it, which is possible.

Admiral Lebron
Nov 17th, 2002, 02:20:08 PM
Maybe they underpredicted by 10mil?

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 17th, 2002, 02:42:10 PM

JMK

IIRC, Yog overtook me last time with a huge one week :)

Sene Unty
Nov 19th, 2002, 01:30:05 PM
well I am snapping at your heels.

*snap. Snap*

Feel the pressure?

(I love talking smack!) :D

Admiral Lebron
Nov 19th, 2002, 01:51:53 PM
IIRC I overtook dizzy in a week and it stayed like that for most of june through gold member.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 19th, 2002, 10:46:33 PM
Ok as you can see I changed the bonus, me and Yog discussed and we felt that we make some changes with it this is how it will be if you get as close as he did
You guess #1 and you get 50 points
#2 25
#3 20
#4 15
#5 10

I think this is the fairest way to do it so that somebody doesn't guess the #5 movie that close and get 50 points and might get more points than the person who guessed the #1 movie. Still Yog has taken a good lead, but I think the rest of us still have a chance.

Not bad :)

I just noticed an error in the maths calculating accuracy last weekend. I will just use the same system as boxoffice mojo from now on. My percentage accuracy this weekend is:

Title - Prediction/Actual - Accuracy

Harry Potter 2: 101/88.36 - 85.69%
8 mile: 25.25/19.34 - 69.44%
Santa Clause 2: 12.88/15.10 - 85.30%
Ring: 10.66/10.66 - 100% :D
Half Past Dead: 6.85/7.82 - 87.60%

Average accuracy: 85.6%

Master Yoghurt

I got to hand it to sirdizzy, he predicted excellent this weekend!

Sirdizzy
HP2: 99.5%
8mile: 64.99%
SC2: 94.97%
Ring: 95.87%
HPD: 97.19%

Avg 90.50%

sirdizzy

hey at least i have the balls to go first instead of waiting to snipe people

Quadinaros
Nov 21st, 2002, 12:24:41 AM
Brave of you my boy... but foolish. I try to reach a middle ground by waiting until Friday evening after I have seen the Thursday box office numbers, then coming up with the best predictions I can, allowing only about 12 hours for my predictions to be 'sniped.' ;)

Well, so far it ain't working.

sirdizzy
Nov 21st, 2002, 12:44:04 PM
somebody has to go first afterall

and anyways it appears i am doing better then you
