Nicholas had not been here long, but was time even relative to him anymore? Probably not he reminded himself, after all now he had all of eternity.

Walking out of the Shrine he just began to walk in the darkness of perpetual night. The moons light almost leading him away from the Shrine towards an outcropping of rock nearby.

Once he had scaled the jagged rock to the top, Nicholas looked out over the darkened landscape. Never had he thought that he would live forever seeing things in their darkened state, or for that matter finding that darkened state beautiful.

Sightseeing was not why he had left the Shrine this "night" though. No, in spending the amount of time in the library studying the ancient texts as he had been since he arrived, Nicholas had neglected his fighting skills. A sharp mind was only half of a warriors need, the other was a sharp body.

Withdrawing his sword from the sheath strapped to his back, Nicholas gripped the two handed grip tightly. Slowly he began a traditional practice technique taught to him years before. Silently his blade slashed through the still air. From years of practice the motions had become second nature to him and they soon increased in speed until the blade was almost impossible to follow with the human eye.

Finishing his warm up, Nicholas began again with a more difficult and complex set of movements. He would have preferred a real opponent, or even a target drone, but neither were around so he continued alone, the only signs of his presence in the darkness was the reflections of his sword in the moonlight.
