Sliff

It had been the "Raptor," Eldorack and Mockadane's transport ship that had brought the wee little fellow thus far. Sliff was just along for the ride, unbeknownst to the crew that is. He also had deep fascination and curiosity for the unknown, every new place held new adventure's that awaited him at every corner. Little did the skilled thief know, he was in for more then he bargained for.

Sliff waited for Eldorack and Ambrose to leave the cab of the Raptor before he climbed out of one of the metal container's that was in the back cargo bay of the ship. When he slowly emerged from the container, his light blue eye's were wide as he cautiously looked to see if the coast was clear. After a few moment's he managed to crawl out, Sliff straightened his small tunic then he garbed a few belonging's and quietly made his way to the landing ramp. All was clear!...

With blinding foot speed he dashed to the nearest hiding place where he slid to a sudden stop and crouched down behind some large crates. The place was dark and quiet in the odd hanger bay as he scanned the docking port...He had over heard Eldorack saying something to Ambrose about a strange planet called Roon and a destination known as the Shrine. But to Sliff it was just another place that had potential goodies for the taking. He knew how people could be careless and leave their most cherished belonging lying around. But Sliff made sure that if he ever ran into such a person who had lost something by accident, an item he happened upon, he'd pick it up for them to return it to it's rightful owner if they asked nicely. More often then not this never occurred, so he found himself having to sell a few of the thing's he found along the way just to find and return the more important trinket's he came across.

Sliff after a bit dashed over to a near by causeway that had little to no lighting. This place that was known as the Shrine was most freighting and creepy but to the wee little Kindermor the lay out was just as any other he had encountered, a treasure-trove waiting to be examined.

Huge endless hallway's filled with extravagant tapestries and statues lined the walls as he walked slowly and cautiously through it's enter sanctum. Sliff's kindred kind knew nothing of what fear was, it was a foreign feeling to them. However, the Kindermor people were not immune to a good scare from time to time. They just found it annoying and rude when people tried to scare or sneak up on them...

"Wow...Look at all the stuff here. I think this place is abandon." Sliff mumbled to himself as he continued on down the massive arched hallway. As the surrounding's grew dimmer and darker with each step, Sliff was forced to retrieve a glow rod from his satchel. Snapping one of the end's of the rod, Sliff held it over his head to get a better look around. There were so many path's and door's to choose from, what was a Kindermor to do in such an immense undisturbed place? This place looked as though no one had touched it for a thousand year's!

"Hurmm...Let's see. Enie meanie mynie mo...Sliff's stubby little finger went back and fourth between two oaken door's that now stood before him. Now Sliff knew that right was always right but in this case it was a bit more complicated then that...The Meanie choice tactic was a favorite decision maker when time's were rough and when a Kindermor didn't have the luxury of a compass device. Sliff unfortunately sold his compass chronometer only two week's prior to a merchant that offered him a sweet stick for it. It was an offer Sliff could not pass up. After all Sliff figured the merchant could use it more then himself so he parted with it without a second thought.

"Catch a Taun-Taun by the toe, and if he holler's make him pay, fifty credit's everyday..." Sliff paused for a moment, trying to remember the rest of the Meanie chant, but no word's came to mind at the time so he just shrugged it off and figuring that was where it ended.

"Yup...this is the door." Sliff smiled and approached the door without further hesitation. After checking for possible nasty trap's, Sliff pulled out a set of lock picking tool's his grandfather Weldon the Sneak had given to him on his sixteenth birthday. Within moment's the door creaked on it's hinges as Sliff poked his head inside peering around into the newly found treasure box...

"Mmmm...Smell's really good in here." Sliff thought to himself as he looked about the chamber that was dimly lit with candle's. After closing the door behind him and locking it, the wee tot of a man made his way over to a desk filled with wonderful and exciting object's. Sliff glanced down and noted a name on what appeared to be a leather bound journal of sort's...Sliff turned to the first page were he read the strange name "Alana" appeared.

"That's a funny place, I've never heard of it before." A moment passed and Sliff just shrugged his little shoulder's and continued to anxiously look about. After some time Sliff had the place in shamble's, dresser drawer's were left open, paper's strewn about the floor, cloth's that he had no interest in were cast aside. Then the tuckered out Kindermor made his way to the large soft king sized bed. Sliff climbed up the side of the bed then laid down in it's engulfing fluffy blanket's and fell fast asleep...Dreaming blissfully of all the countless room's he could adventure in on the marrow.
