I'm currently working on an RE project about War/armed conflict after the Second World War. Does anybody have something like a chronological list of war/armed conflict dates? The internet seems to lead me in circles. I'd appreciate something like the name and the date, and I'll do the rest myself (though any info would be more than welcome!). Thanks :)
Remember - after 1945 only.

Korean, Vietnam, Falklands Gulf War are there, in that order I believe.

You forgot the invasion of Grenada, the Soviet invasion of Afganistan, the Seven Day war in the Middle East, the Iran-Iraq war, the various civil wars and rebellions in Africa, and maybe Panama, when the US went in and toppled Noriega.

The war in Bosnia...
Incursions in Somalia...
and, of course, now the "War on Terrorism", so the toppling of the regime in Afganistan would count as well...

I think the Afghanistan one is a matter of personal opinion though.

Those are a few I remember off-hand...
Here's a really good site for timelines of military conflicts throughout recorded history.

This should tell you everything you need, and then some.

Good point...
Although it might warrant mention since some of the terrorist acts that have lead to it's undertaking (1993 World Trade Center Bombing, attack on the USS Cole, etc) occured in the 20th Century.

Lest us not forget the Greek Civil War which lasted in open conflict from 1945 until, unofficially 1952.
There was as well the Malaysian Civil War, in the middle 1960s
There were several Russian-based conflicts as well.
-Rebellion in Budapest: 1947.
-Rebellion in Chechnya: 1998 until now....and still going strong.
-Unofficial and denied Russian military supression of rebellion in the Ukraine, 1975.
-revolution in Romania. 1981.
that's all off the top of my head.

Telan, another to add to your list -- the "Prague Spring" in 1968 when the Soviets sent tanks to Prague to quell an uprising.

Ah yes, I forgot about that.

I personally wouldn't call Prague Spring a War or Armed Conflict. I see that as more of supression. They had clashes, but never a real Conflict per say.
What about that thing that happened in Africa? The one when one race killed off thousands of others? I forgot what country, and only remember that one race was called the Tootsies or something. Hundreds of thousands killed. What is weird is, I can remember the video in World Studies easily, but not the names, I have never been good with names. The movie was vivid and I still get sick remembering it.

Speaking of...I forgot several.
1960-present Civil War in Burma. The Karen as part of the National Liberation Army are fighting for survival for, basically, their way of life. THe government is combating them and having little success.
1954- Civil War: Congo. Belgians against natives.
1960-1999 Civil War: Africa. Almost every nation in central Africa has been engaged in continuous civil war for the past quarter century.
2001-2002 Civil War: Ivory Coast. French forces are attempting to maintain peace in their former colony, but the battle fiercely rages.
