Well, the attachement won't open for me but more than likely it's some type of spyware software. First I would uninstall Kazaa, then download Ad-Aware and run a clean on your computer. It wipes out all of the crap Kazaa put on your computer.

If you're not already using it, download Kazaa Lite at kazaa-lite.org and use it. It's the same program without all the ads and spyware.

I recently downloaded Kazaa and I haven't such a thing on my computer so I haven't a clue what it is however I would suggested uninstalling Kazaa and then reinstall it, during this process check carefully as it might say things like "Tick box if you do not want this program installed". You might've assumed it said "Tock box if you want to install this program", whatever the heck it is.

Before you do that, try finding out the name of the program, go to control panel and select it in "Add/Remove Programs" then remove it. That's all I can really offer I'm afraid, wish I knew more to help you out but I haven't had this problem. It may be related to your internet connection, I have a cable modem and maybe all Kazaa dial-up users need that program.

I have a dial-up connection and I've never seen anything like that program. Like I said, it's probably spyware, in which case I'd recommend downloading Ad-Aware and running it. Uninstalling Kazaa by itself won't remove those files.

it didnt, and its Adware. I dont want an ad-aware thing though, as I know they can affect other files.

Never sen it before, but Grev is right. There is absolutely no reason to use KaZaA, as it's laden with all sorts of nasty things. Even if you haven't noticed a problem, Levi, I would do as Grev suggested.

Ad-Aware simply scans your computer for spyware, then gives you a list of what it found and asks you if you'd like to remove any of it. You can selectively choose what to or what not to remove.

It's found quite a number of files, loads are from Gator but most I don't recognise. How do I know which ones to delete? Is there a risk it could damage my computer if I delete all files found?

IIRC, it should have another column to the side, describing the file. If not, just remove things from Gator, KaZaA or similar programs.

It definitely shouln't hurt your computer, since it knows what are normal system files.

IMO, it wouldnt "damage" your comp, but you could lose things you use.

I had a huge problem with Kazaa...it seriously screwed my computer over. Had to save all my schtuff to CD and completely restore my computer.

Yep...Morg gave me the ad aware hookup, and canned Kazaa. I got K-Lite, and Ad Aware devoured all my spyware. I'm also running Mozilla and Trillian, which are sweet :)

This is great...its like having some amazing, PC-tweaking hobo to sleep on my couch.

Kazaa is evil... I don't use it, at all. There are better P2P programs that don't dump loads of cookies and spyware on your machine when you install and use them.

Ad-Aware is a great program... anyone here that doesn't have it... go download it ASAP... you'll be surprised how much crap it will find on your system.

The new version of Kazaa has this.. priority thing on it, whereby only people who upload lots can get downloads. It's EVIL. But I've never been able to get any other Music program to work well, so I just have the old Kazaa.

You might want to try a program that will clean the registry.

Also, if you haven't already, access "msconfig" from the Run option in the Start Menu... click the Startup tab, and uncheck anything associated with Kazaa, then reboot.
