On last nights ep of King of the Hill, they posed a serious issue.
Bobby's new girlfriend's parents were new age and lax, and Hank over compensated somewhat.
The parents let thier son drink at home so he wouldn't get wasted where they couldn't keep an eye on him, and left thier daughters duel-sex sleepover party unattende, and made it clear they had no problem with a little, you know. And by the way, these kids where 13 or 14.
But, Hank also was a bit hardlien on the other side. He monitored everything Bobby did so closely, he was a bit totalitarian.
So, whats your stance on this? Please leave religious dogmas at the door, this is meant to be a serious disscussion about the state of parenting today.
I think both were wrong. While it was a good idea with the alcohol thing, the lax parents were WAY twisted. And, Hanks action were counterproductive. If you try to "clean someones mind" as Hank Hill put it, they will just try harder to slip away.
