Terran jogged down the gangplank of the ship and onto the landing pad of the Space Port. They had landed in the Upper Levels of Coruscant, and Terran had lead his friend and fellow padawan of Master Verse Dawnstrider to the planet on a 'mission,' as he liked to call it. He grinned to himself as he thought of his plans. It was going to be a fun night.

"Sarr, my friend, come on out. We don't have much time." He shouted back into the ship. Sarr hadn't gotten off yet, and he thought it could be in part due to the fact that Terran hadn't told him exactly what they were here for. He would explain though. He liked the element of suprise. It was always working on his side.

Slipping the guard some credits, he paid the docking fee for the protected pad that the GJO's small shuttle was parked on. The ship was small, slow, and not armed very well, but it was all he really had access to with his current status. He looked back to see if his friend had moved out of the ship yet.

The Kel Dor followed his friend off the small shuttle after some quick contemplating. He could not figure out why Terran would have brought him here. And thinking if Terran wanted him to know, he would have said something. Whatever Terran had in store was bound to be a good experience for both of the padawans.

Sarr walked up to Terran and looked slowly around.

"What exactly don't we have much time for?"

Knowing Terran would not reveal anything until he was good and ready, Sarr said this in a jokative tone.

"Well, I have a brilliant idea. You know how Master Verse has been gone on a trip for quite some time?" He looked at his friend for a visual response--like a nodd or a smile. It was hard to read his facial expressions in the protective mask her wore, but he could tell Sarr was following him. "As a coming back gift, we should purchase something for him. Something from the both of us." He lead the Kel Dor to the elevator. They began to ride it the hundreds of stories down to the marketplace level.

"I was thinking something along the lines of a fancy knife or a dagger or even a sword. Or perhaps, we could even get him a belt of sheath. Something personalized." He continued as the rode the elevator down. When they got to the bottom, they stepped out into the lighted marketplace. He looked at all of the bustle of the night life that sweeped through the streets of Coruscant. It was amazing--people came and went as often as the shuttles and taxis above zoomed through the sky-ways.

"Have you ever been here before? Down into the busy markets of Coruscant?" The neon lights and flashing billboards beeped, sounded, blinked, changed, and shifted even the most seasoned person into vertigo. City life. He was not used to a place as busy as this. But it was exciting, and he made several trips here. He hoped that if Sarr was used to this type of thing he would not find Terran's comment offensive or degrading.

"I have not been down here before. I have visited little except for the Jedi Academy."

The site was almost enough to overwhelm the Kel Dor. Never before had he been to a place like this.

"It can be very intriguing, but be careful--it can also contain dangers unseen at first." He looked at his buddy and smiled. "Of course, they would be unwise to pick a fight with the two of us!" He put one arm around Sarr's shoulder and began to walk with him. "Come--let's do some research."

They walked into a nearby bar--it looked rather rough. It was on the outskirts of the Marketplace, in a secluded corner. He thought it best to do some research on a good weapon's dealer. Illegal or no, he wanted to find something special for his master.

"Here's what I was thinking, Sarr. We could go into this bar and do some investigation to find a good place to bye something for Master Verse." He looked at the door to the bar. It was rugged and covered with a poor smell and color. "Be careful in here--the company isn't ideal. Stick close--you'll do great." Letting go of his friend, he got into character. His face took on rough features and his eyes became intense.

The Kel Dor nodded to his friend. Unlike Terran he had no need to alter his facial expressions, it was hard for anyone to know how he was feeling. His appearace alone was enough to frighten most people.

"Don't worry, Terran. I don't think any smart person would mess with a duo of a human and Kel Dor."

Smiling inwardly, he thought about what the people walking by must think. He cared nothing about what they thought.

"I am ready for whatever may happen."

Terran nodded and acknowledged his friend. It was time to start looking.

He made his way to the front of the bar. One large male gamorean stood guard, although he did little to permit the entrance of dangerous folk. Terran thought he was surely more of a soldier when a fight broke out instead of door man.

Passing into the bar, the scene was rather typical of an institution such as this. The bar was spread out rather well--suprising that there was so much room. However, it appeared fairly full. Aliens of all species took part in the festivities within--humans, Twi'leks, Rodians, Bothans, Zabraks, and even Kel Dors. They wore various attire, though the male ratio was high. This was a rough bar--it was not a club, and many different gangs tended to fratenize in the crowd.

"What do you think? Who should we talk to first?" Terran asked the Kel Dor as they approached the bar. He had a gameplan in mind, he just wondered what the other was thinking.

"I'll have a water, and also whatever my friend wishes." He spoke to the large bartender--who was human--at the bar.

“Water, right.”

The man behind the bar nodded and set down the glass he was currently cleaning to pick up another fresh one from beneath the counter. He lifted a pump, and began to fill the glass to the brim with cool water, dropping a few ice cubes in for good measure. With a clatter he sat the glass down, and waited for the other order and credits in payment.

Unusually, he thought, he had not been recognised. There he stood behind the bar, attired in a dark cloak. Surely his face was distinguishable from the normal bartender? Did the scars not give him away or even the subtle traits such as slitted pupils and fangs – though he imagined the latter had not yet been spotted clearly.

So Vega waited.

The Kel Dor looked around the large bar and each of the different people. He noticed one human who was sitting alone, apart from everyone else.

"That guy sitting in the corner looks like he his is waiting for something. He might be a dealer. As for the drink," he said turning to the bartender, "I think I'll have to pass."

Terran glanced in the direction of the man Sarr was referring too. He looked back at the bartender. Back at Sarr. Back at the bartender. He was hinting that perhaps they should ask the bartender first. It seemed as though the owners of such establishments know quite a bit about the surrounding areas. He thought there would be a great chance that he would know something.

"You could be right. Let's head that way. But first, let's ask him." He pointed towards the bartender. "Excuse me, bartender, if someone, such as myself and my friend here, were seeking means of 'defense' in a rough place like Coruscant, where would we go?"

Vega nodded to the freak in the mask then looked to Terran as he spoke again. Watching the man, he wondered exactly what Xazor saw in him. From simply perceiving his aura he could tell he held no great power in the Jedi ways, and therefore was presumably a Padawan. The same seem to apply to his companion. Leaning forward over the bar, he motioned for his ‘customer’ to come a little closer, before whispering:

“… There are mercenaries in here that’ll guard you. Just look for the guys sitting alone. If you get desperate for an escort, and have a fair amount of credits, I’d be glad to help. I know these streets like the back of my hand, and won’t kill ya after I’ve gotten me pay.”

"I see. Thank you for your help," Terran relpied, slipping a credit under his hand to the bartender. He looked back at Sarr and spoke through the Force to his mind.

You were right. Let's go talk to the man you pointed out. He stepped away from the bar and motioned for Sarr to follow him. They headed over to the opposite table--the one Sarr had pointed out.

The approached the man and sat at the table. Terran looked to his friend, giving him a familiar glance. It said "Go ahead." He would let Sarr do the talking here.

Recognizing the look Terran directed at him, Sarr nodded and turned to the hooded man sitting in the corner.

"Me and my friend here have been told that someone such as yourself might be able to help us find what we need."

The man looked up slowly and appeared to eye both Sarr and Terran intently. In a gruff voice he replied,

"Continue."

"We are looking for a weapon for someone that we know."

"What exactly did you have in mind," the hooded man said.

The Kel Dor turned to his friend. He didn't really know what Terran wanted to get Master Verse.

OOC: I hope this is okay...

OOC: It's great!

"Something archaic--like an old blade. Non-vibro...something antique." He watched the curious man's features as he spoke. He seemed to be thinking of something that could suit the pair.

"Hmmmm..." he groaned after a long moment of thought. "I might have something to suit you. Follow me." He rose, leaving credits for his drink, and motioned to the door. He noticed that the man had an unusually large backpack on his back. Very bulky and clanky. Terran nodded to Sarr--it was ok. They would follow.

The man took them outside and a few meters around the old bar. They came to some back alleys--nearly catcombs in the old city of Coruscant. The man then took off his backpack, laying it to the ground as he paused.

Be mindful. If he tries anything, be alert. Terran spoke to his friend in his mind, hoping he would understand. He knew that Sarr would. He felt for his saber at his belt.

"Here is what is currently in stock," the man said, opening his pack. It showed several old blades--both daggers and short blades. One highlighted piece was a large, centered sword. It was a thin bladed-long sword. Much the same size as a saber.

"What do you think, my friend?" The Jedi spoke to Sarr.

The Kel Dor stood with his arms hanging loosely at his side. He was not one to take chances. Sarr was prepared for anything that might happen should this obviously shady character attempt anything. He was ready to draw his lightsaber if it was necessary.

Seeing the sword that Terran was interested in. Sarr thought it was very appropriate for a great man such as Master Verse. The blade was sleek and beautiful. One that Verse would admire very much. The Kel Dor turned to his friend and nodded.

He nodded back. The blade was beautiful and it's hilt was even more so. It's silver build was etched with blue stones and engraved with shapes and elegant designs. He looked back up at the dealer.

"The sword--how much would you be willing to part with it for?" He asked the dealer.

"Hmm....for her...I'd say....500 credits." The dealer scratched his chin as he thought, but when he produced the figure, he smiled a bit.

Terran's eyes almost widened out of his socket as the figure was spoken. He had only brought 350 credits and he doubted Sarr had many more--perhaps some. He didn't plan on Sarr being rich. He had a small fortune that Biggs had left him--6-7,000 credits. He didn't use it much--it was for emergency and other purchases. This fit the other category, but he was asking too much.

"Surely, we could find a price that was more suitable," he said in a very friendly tone. "Perhaps 350 credits?"

"Ha! Three-hundered-fi--Hahahahaha! You're funny kid. Hahahaha!" Terran's face turned red as the dealer made fun of him. Terran was fairly skilled at bargaining, but he had a bigger ally to use now.

"I think that 350 credits will work just fine," he said waving his hand in front of the dealer's face. Using the Force to persuade him, he hoped to get help. He wasn't skilled at this kind of manipulation, but it was worth a shot.

"Uh...uh..." The Dealer shook his head. It was as if he was shaking something out of his head. "Um...ok. I'll settle for 400. That's my final offer." It kind of worked, Terran thought. He wondered if Sarr had the credits to help him out.

"Excuse us for a moment," he said, smiling. He grasped Sarr's shoulder and walked him sever feet away.

"Do you have 50 credits? I am 50 short..." Giving Sarr a sheepish grin, he shrugged his shoulders.

Using the Mind Trick was a good idea by Terran. It was better then Sarr could have done if he had attempted. It didn't work as well as Terran and Sarr and expected, but it would suffice. The Kel Dor reached his hand into his robes and pulled out credits. He handed them to Terran.

"I hope that is enough. I don't earn to much money I am afraid. Just what I have saved."

"It's plenty, my friend." He spoke with a smile to Sarr, taking the credits. Turning back to the dealer, he presented the proper amount and was returned with the sword he had purchased. He scanned the hilt with his fingers...it was a beautiful blade. Master Verse would surely enjoy it. He smiled back to Sarr and let him handle the weapon.

"Thank you my friend, it was a pleasure doing business with you," he spoke to the dealer, as they left the alley. It was a few blocks back to the mouth of the dark alley, and the dealer scurried off in the opposite direction. He was pleased with their find and anxious to present the gift. As they proceeded down the alley, he thought of how they would--

Something made him stop. The hair on the back of his neck stood up as he paused. Something churned inside of him. It was a feeling. It was a presence...an aura...a tremor in the Force...

"Did you feel that?" He turned to Sarr, wondering if the Kel Dor had felt the same thing. Reaching to his belt, he felt for the hilt of his saber. It was there--resting in the place it always had. "Someone is...out there...I feel it..."

The Kel Dor had come to a dead stop at the exact same moment as Terran. Sarr had felt a tremor of evil radiating from some nearby place. Instinctivly he reached for his lightsaber hung on his belt. He drew it but did not ignite it.

"Yes...someone...or something IS out there."

Looking around he didn't see anything out of the ordinary. But then again, looks can be deceiving. Someone was out there. What did they want? Who did they want? Were the after Terran and Sarr? A long list of unanswerable questions popped into the Kel Dor's mind.

"What should we do?"
