What are they, if we have them here :lol Need to know for a specific reason

I think they're aren't any ranks at TBH beyond "whelp" or whatever ya want to call em.

*shrug* LD is a Sith Master, who is now a Dark Jedi. So I call her a Dark Jedi Master. If I were to venture a guess the workable ones would be apprentice, knight and master.

well, I assumed that but didn't wanna assume because well, I don't know what you guys did while I was gone :p

Wargrave's a Dark Jedi Master same with Hob I believe too.

Nov 3rd, 2002, 10:59:05 PM
The initial idea was that there was just Apprentices and full-fledged Dark Jedi.
Lilaena De'Ville
Nov 3rd, 2002, 11:36:19 PM
Hob is not a master, just a Dark Jedi. And Nup's idea works as well, but Im' still holding onto LD's Sith Master rank to scare newbies with. :)

Hey Taja! :lol this thread was about you anyway so since you are here ... after our thread we did in ST ... which yes, I know I have to do an end post still, AND WILL! :D Yousa a full fledged Dark Jedi ^_^
I presume I can just do that right? Or does that actually need to be RPed out?
Either way, Taja deserves it :)

Having no specific ranks, just Apprentices and Dark Jedi make things easy EXCEPT for when people will say "But I'm a Jedi master and you're just a Dark Jedi, so I can do this to you.." So I think it is up to the individual and their master to determine what sort of skill level their character has, even if it is not in their 'title' so to speak.

Nov 4th, 2002, 04:14:41 PM
Everybody in this group is mature enough, I think, to determine what level their character is at without having to have a title assigned to them.

I was fairly happy with just being Dark Jedi and Apprentices.

Nov 4th, 2002, 08:16:53 PM
Well, I know that I was to judge Taja's ability .... but I just wanted to make sure what was going on here.
So I be agreeing with LD .... this thread does clear things up tho

I agree with Taylor, although I always thought there were Dark Jedi Masters as well for some reason. Even though no one ever said they were one. I think it'd be cool to only have the titles of Dark Jedi and Dark Jedi Apprentice/Acolyte/Newbie/Trainee/Fresh Meat. Titles don't mean that any particular character isn't good enough to actually be a master of the Force, like say De'Ville. Anyway, I like the thought of there only being two titles. It's less divisive, for one thing. And people won't be able to fight you and say, "aha, you're a Dark Jedi Master, I'm going to get my butt kicked". They'll just have to find out for themselves how good anyone from here is when they fight them. Really, it's already almost like that now.

I always refer to Vega as a Dark Lord.. do I need to change that? o_O
Lilaena De'Ville
Nov 6th, 2002, 02:48:35 PM
;) you were probably confused because I always call LD a Dark Jedi Master. I'll stop that, I guess....maybe not though. Dang it I worked HARD to earn that title..Sith Master, though, not DJ Master. hehe DJ master.... :lol
Vegs, I think Dark Lord is fine. Sounds more like a pet name, not an actual title. ;)

I've always thought of it as..
Apprentice, Dark Jedi Knight, Dark Jedi, Dark Jedi Master.
But that's me.
Maester Wargrave
Nov 7th, 2002, 12:28:14 AM
I think the point of TBH was to have no ranks or something. We were all a group of equals. We each had the same say etc etc.
Hence only the Apprentice/Dark Jedi difference.
Me personally, I'll make rank distinctions when need be (against some GJO members when I have to), but overall...I just call Wargrave a 'Dark Jedi'

Although title-wise I call Hob a Dark Jedi, I have an OOC conception of ranks along the same lines as Zasz does. In my mind, Hob is equivalent to a Sith Lord or experienced Jedi Knight. He won't really be a Dark Jedi Master until he finishes training Jibrielle.
Regardless of what OOC rank I have, though, I will be calling him "Dark Jedi" more frequently than "Dark Jedi Master."

I rarely if ever refer to my rank IC, unless I'm talking about the Sith Order... So it's not an issue for me.

He won't really be a Dark Jedi Master until he finishes training Jibrielle.
Aha ! I knew there was a reason why you kept bugging me about my training. ;)
Evil Hobgoblin

I haven't bugged you all that much. :p But I do feel a bit like I'm letting you down. Salem got promoted before Jibrielle did, and Jib's your first character.

Took Zasz 2 years to get promoted.

Hmmm... true, but remember you weren't my apprentice for all two of those years. :) At least I don't think you were... o.o

,..maybe that was the problem? :lol You didn't remember that he was your apprentice...:lol

I was your apprentice for like...6-8 months.
The rest, he was a wanderer.
But still!

Dec 6th, 2002, 03:53:44 AM
Hey, be glad it only took you that long. Jeseth didn't get promoted to Knight for a year because his Master just stopped role-playing! But I can't curse Darth Tholuem - he was such an interesting guy. Too bad he's never around anymore... I should give him more credit in my role-plays. I hardly mention him at all...
Zasz Grimm
Dec 6th, 2002, 07:53:34 AM
He just quit roleplaying for a while and came back 3 months later?
Oh wait, that was you.
:mneh
Anyways, at least you came back. ^_^

I've never RPed with him (well, not as Seth or Nichos, anyway) and didn't know him very well OOC, but... he should've said something. Even if he didn't want to RP it out, a nice little note saying goodbye wouldn't have hurt... :|
Lilaena De'Ville
Dec 19th, 2002, 03:12:42 AM
I don't really think he's a prick. Still, a good bye, or something would have been nice. Esp. since he IS still online, albeit someplace else. He was inconsiderate.
Morgan Evanar
Dec 19th, 2002, 11:13:43 AM
I don't really see it that way. If I were to quit, I'd just quit. No "goodbye" or anything else. No drama.
Evil Hobgoblin
Dec 19th, 2002, 07:20:45 PM
I dunno. At least telling people you're quitting would be nice. Doesn't have to be a goodbye, but that way they know not to expect you to post anymore. Makes planning easier, IMO.

In the middle of an RP? Blarg. Anyway, this thread was about ranks.
Its nice to know that Morgan might suddenly never be seen again. So much for being friends. :( :mneh

I'm sorry, but half the people on the boards are Drama attention specialists. I'd probably finish most of the threads I was in... but it would really depend on what was going on in my life. I fully understand why he did what he did, and I mostly support it.

I guess I agree with Morgan, though as his OOC friend I wish he'd have left me an e-mail telling me "hey, I'm not going to be around much" or something.
In reference to the ranks thing, I thought we had pretty much already talked it out.
Evil Hobgoblin
Dec 20th, 2002, 12:03:52 PM
Yesh, I think we did talk that one out. We came to the conclusion that everyone has their own conception of ranks, but that around here there were two titles of importance: Apprentice and Dark Jedi. Or at least, that was my conclusion. :)
I gotta say that I really do miss Seth. His fight for entry was one of the more fun ones I ever did, plus his Gauntlet challenge was a lot of fun, too. If anybody runs into him, tell him "Hob says hi" for me, would you?
Jeseth Cloak
Dec 21st, 2002, 04:50:56 AM
I'll let him know next time I speak with him... and Hob, I think I pretty much came to the sam ranks conclusion a well.
