I thought last week was tough, but this one's worse, at least for me. I just can't get a feel for a lot of these games. I'm afraid I'll blow it so bad even Jon and his blind monkey will get more games right than I will.

WIN Tennessee at Cincinnati
Seattle at Dallas WIN
WIN Oakland at Kansas City
WIN Chicago at Minnesota
Atlanta at New Orleans WIN
Cleveland at NY Jets WIN
WIN Tampa Bay at Carolina
WIN Pittsburgh at Baltimore

I wouldn't be surprised if any of these teams won;
Giants
KC
Cleveland
Baltimore
Minnesota
Atlanta

Crud, I could easily go 7-7 or 6-8. :x

I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the teams win that Jedieb picked. I also think that if there was any week for Cincy to win, it would be this one. Wouldn't it suck if they blew it and actually won a game?

Dallas-Ok, so I was wrong about Carter..lol, lets hope that the new qb will play better than him. I think it would be wonderful to see Emmit rush for over 100 yard this Sunday, to own the title for most rusing yards for a running back, and to have it at home!

So Sene, it looks like the bigs games for us are Bungles/Titans and Bears/Vikings. I wouldn't put it past the Bungles to win their first game on the road. Stupid Bungles. >_<

JMK
Oct 25th, 2002, 09:03:47 AM
I'm very nervous about that game too. The only thing that propels me to pick the Titans is that every team should have an overriding fear of being the first team to lose to the Bungles. That fear of humiliation should be enough to drive every team to beat them.

Watch... Corey Dillon will run for 250 yards and the Bungles will win... :rolleyes

Emmitt Smith will have a big game and break Walter Payton's rushing record at home... the team has a huge incentive to get him the mark since their next two games are on the road.

Pittsburgh/Baltimore is going to be interesting... Bettis is out, but Ray Lewis may still be out for the Ravens as well. I'll still take the Steelers, as their passing game is starting to show signs of life with Maddox at QB, but it could be close.

Oakland/KC will be a shootout... KC can't stop the pass... Oakland can't stop the run. The team with the last possession might win this one.

I'm tempted to take Atlanta to upset New Orleans. The Falcons have gotten a little bit better each week, and even though the Saints D goes against Aaron Brooks every day in practice, Michael Vick could give them a lot of problems. The Saints could be ripe for an upset after beating San Fran last week... tough to call.

Sort of unrelated but Emit Smith just took the record with the 11 yard carry.

Oct 27th, 2002, 03:17:57 PM
I saw that, congrats Emmitt. While we are on that makes you wonder if Barry Sanders hadn't retired what he would have done. I think he would have had the record and probably kept it out of reach of course he decided that he didn't want to play any more and that was his choice. Also my Chiefs finally played some defense beating Oakland 20-10. They are now 4-4 and maybe they can use that as motivation in the second half. I actually think they could make the playoffs if their defense improves.

Oct 27th, 2002, 03:18:20 PM
Wow, what a terrble week so far. The Jets blew it. The Bears didn't even show up, the Bills are looking like they're going to blow it, but they just come up with a MONSTROUS 4th & 1 stand on their own 19. The Saints have gone back on top of the Falcons...what a week indeed. Haven't they all been like this recently?

JMK
Oct 27th, 2002, 03:31:37 PM
I can't believe the Saints blew it. :mad What a bunch of idiots!

Figrin D'an
Oct 27th, 2002, 03:36:12 PM
I was soooo ready to pick Atlanta in that game... I was right about a potential letdown after the big win against San Francisco... I need to start listening to my own advice...

Jedieb
Oct 27th, 2002, 03:51:10 PM
Vick was AMAZING! That guy has so much potential it's scary. I've been busy moving and focusing on the Cowboys game so I've got little idea of what's happened around the league. It doesn't sound like I've done too well though. Uggh.

I just noticed Sene and I split the two games we differed on so I'm staying two behind. Everybody else should have a great chance to make up some ground as we head into the halfway mark. Some teams will have half their schedule played but the season won't really be at the halfway mark until the following week because of byes.

Figrin D'an
Oct 27th, 2002, 04:07:35 PM
There are two people that went 7-2 on the early games... most people were either 5-4 or 4-5 though. Denver/New England will split a lot of people, as will Indy/Washington in a few cases.

Taylor Millard
Oct 27th, 2002, 04:38:16 PM
Boy I'm happy t'be a Dallasite today.

Those who saw the game...outside of the Emmitt gem (I'm so proud of him. I can't think of anyone else who'd I'd rather have taking over as NFL Rushing leader) what'd we think of Hutchinson? I know it's one game...but whatta ya think?

JMK
Oct 27th, 2002, 06:21:30 PM
Stupid Stupid Jaguars! Only Reaper was smart (or lucky) enough to take the Texans! It's almost as embarassing as losing to the Bungles! :mad

Are there no safe bets anymore????

JonathanLB
Oct 27th, 2002, 07:07:00 PM
That really made me mad. I need to benefit from some of these close games, but instead I'm losing them all. The Saints blew it, the Jets were WAY, WAY ahead at the half, and somehow found a way to snatch defeat from the hands of victory, hehe.

Oh well, my Niners just kicked the crap out of the hapless Cardinals. My god, that game was a far bigger blowout than the score leads you to think, especially since the Niners could have went for 7 more at the end of the game, but it was over, so no use rubbing it in.

The Jags, ugg, come on guys, I needed you to win! Idiots. That would have really helped my record.

I think I am 7-5 with two games left. 9-5 would be great, 7-7 would suck, just like last week.

Wow, I know the Bungles are a wreck of a football team, but from what I can see, the Giants are just as bad. One lonely field goal, they've allowed almost 300 yards on the ground alone. I've never seen a team look as disinterested as I have seen tonight. Kerry Collins is fumbling snaps that are picture perfect, and not showing any signs of life. I tell you one thing; if the Bungles ever play the Giants this year, I'm taking the Bungles.

Talk about right down the middle. 7 of us finished with records of above .500 (8-6 to 12-2) and 7 of us finished at 7-7. What does that say about the NFL????

Still, as poorly as I've been doing, I'm still only 3 games out of first. :)

Now if I can just get over 500 completely next week. :)

JonathanLB
Oct 29th, 2002, 01:47:47 AM
It is fairly early in the season I suppose, or not quite the half way mark I guess, so I can still make a comeback and have a respectable finish.

I climbed back to 50-50 now, which is a good start. I've been in the top half of the field here quite a bit lately, even though my ranking is like last overall.

I just need a few breaks one week and I need a few 12-2 weeks myself, hehe.
