Currently I like the look of the GJO, but I am always a stickler for change so.....whatever happens I think I will be for it.......:D

I'm up to other projects at the moment but if someone wants to go crazy in photoshop...

What type of look would people want though?

Sum rules before you start. It must work at 800x600 for those who run that. People @ 640x480 can burn. Its so 6 years ago.

2nd - I like blue for Jedi. Its calm and peaceful. Blue is a good Jedi color. Furthermore, curves are good. Gives a sense of grace, unobtrusiveness.

3rd- I found it hard as hell to make anything that felt anywhere near "right". What we have here is my best attempt and also the result of telling ezboard to die die die die die. It could look a wee bit different but after pouring 18 hours (half of them trying to get it to work) into the thing I wasn't about to modify it for SWF.

So, referring to the top images, have you tried slicing them in Photoshop?

I did slice them in Photoshop.

I could make images that would rock your socs off, but to get the right "feel" is difficult. Unless the feel and look matches what GJO is, it wont work.

Ya, I think padawans would get scared if they walked in and our "peaceful" jedi order was filled with flaming, sharp edges and a giant nuclear bomb cursor...

Not to mention I would hit someone. Do not play with my windows cursor.

After careful review of the thread I have found no such question, unless Ryla presented it.

And the answer was yes.

Ok, I could have sworn I posted it. I was having a bit of trouble with my home internet the other day, perhaps it didnt submit. I asked what slicing was?

Cheers

Making one large image then chopping it into little bits to fit in with the layout or something like that, I think.

aFew other uses for slicing, but that definition does work.

Probably allows you to make the file size a lot smaller too, whilst retaining quality.

Not slicing. Slicing is useful for image mapping and stuff liek that tho.

Somewhat smaller. The real benefit is that you can use gif/png transparency more easily without running into palletitzation issues. Smaller images mean more specific colors for certain areas.

Image mapping allows you to use one big image and cut "buttons" using HTML code.

The easiest way to tell if someone is using one big image or a bunch of smaller ones is to highlight the image(s). Or, in IE: View -> Source.
