View Full Version : The City That Never Sleeps (Plo, Open)(Completed)

Estelle Russard

Coruscant - the city of endless lights. The planet-city teeming with life forms of every color, race and creed. An immense melting pot of governmental, corporate and private enterprise bound together in one seething, broiling megalopolis of existance and opportunity. Its incredible sky-scrapers which blocked the sun from reaching the lower depths, condemning the neverending stream of repulsor craft and city denizens to bathe in neon and artificial lighting which hummed and flickered in monotonous continuity.

Coruscant - Seat of great thinkers of the governing bodies, bed of wild dreamers and eternal optimists; craddle of corruption and criminal deviants. It encompassed it all. From the Noble to the Nefarious. The Innocent to the Guilty. The Righteous to the Wicked. And everything possible in between.

Coruscant - Always bustling, constantly moving, ever restless, never sleeping.

Coruscant - New home of the Greater Jedi Order.

*****************************

Estelle met Plo Koon as planned (http://www.swforums.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22708) and together they left the living quarters of the Jedi Order. Their speeder joining the neverending flow of transport craft flowing in the traffic lanes heading north into Coruscant.

Plo had wanted a taste of the nightlife - or even just a look-see - of Coruscant, and so the two had arranged to do just that.

As with any forray into the city-planet, this promised to be an interesting evening.

Plo Koon sat beside Estelle and had the jitters cause he was so excited. He hadnt really left the order or even came close to it. It was his first night on the town. He felt like a kid in a candy store and he couldnt wait to see what was going to happen. He also expected some unfriendly locals so he made sure he always had his trusty sabar beside him

"You should slow down a little..."

Estelle cautioned Plo, but in her mind she assumed his present driving of the speeder was probably a lot more sedate than it usually was.

"...So many crazy drivers around, its a good idea to drive defensively."

Lights streamed before and aft, left and right, it was all a person could do to keep from going cross-eyed with it all.

Plo Koon
Oct 20th, 2002, 10:57:59 AM
Plo looked over at her

"alright"

Koon slowed down a bit and kept up a defensive.

"So where are we going?"

Estelle Russard
Oct 26th, 2002, 09:44:48 PM
She reached over and on the control panel of the dashboard, entered in the name of the "Skipping Gungan Cafe."

The GPS (galactic positioning satellite) instantly went to work and announced "turn left on 45th street" and other such directions for Plo to follow, which would take them to that particular destination.

"We are going to get something to eat, and then walk around some. That sound ok?"

Plo Koon
Oct 26th, 2002, 09:49:12 PM
PLo fallowed the directions.

"Sounds good to me"

He couldnt beleave it was his first time out into the city

Estelle Russard
Oct 26th, 2002, 10:38:51 PM
Plo managed the speeder well, easily darting in and out of traffic and within a short time, they were parking it in a overhang parking lot.

Stepping out in the hustle and bustle that was Coruscant at any time of the day, but even more so on an evening such as this, she could see Plo was excited and a little awe-struck at the sheer mass of lifeforms that filled the streets.

She pointed to a neon flashing sign across the street.

"Thats it over there. I hope you are as adventurous as you are hungry" she joked.

Plo Koon
Oct 27th, 2002, 11:28:07 AM
Plo's eyes widened as he say how big the structures were. He saw Estelle pointing to a sign

"Oh boy...Food. Lets go"

He grabed her hand and they made their way to the building

Estelle Russard

They crossed the distance to the Cafe, their Jedi robes making some heads turn to look, but mostly the populace hurried by them without a glance, eager to be on their own way to their own pressing matters. Estelle thought it strange that Plo took her hand, but perhaps it was customary from where he came from. He let it go once they got to the sidewalk, and she flipped her hood back from off her head, allowing her hair to be free from its confining folds.

As they stepped into the restaurant, a tall alien with an extremely elongated neck and matching elongated arms, held out two menus to them from his greeting station about 4 feet away. Plo and Estelle both took them and as the alien stretched his neck toward them, they could hear him quite clearly over the din of the crowd.

"Table 78, over there by the dancing "Sy Snootle" impersonator left of the bar. Server will be over in 2 minutes or free drinks on us!"

Menus in hand, Plo ahead, Estelle about four steps behind because of the press of the crowd, the two made their way over to where the alien had directed.

Plo Koon
Nov 1st, 2002, 11:44:25 AM
Plo held the menu in his hand as he made his way to the table. As both of them reched it they sat down. Plo removed his cloak and hung it on the chair behind him. He looked at the menu and was a little confused at what was on it.

Estelle Russard
Nov 2nd, 2002, 08:41:45 PM
Estelle noticed Plo's confusion immediately.

Reaching over, she pointed to a page at the back that listed dishes from other galaxies - some of which Plo might recognise.

"If those dont appeal, can I suggest you order the Seafood pasta? Its very tasty and not too heavy."

Plo Koon
Nov 5th, 2002, 06:47:34 PM
Plo looked over the menu and didnt see anything to appealing until he came across somehting called "Chinese". The plate lokked delicious.

"What is in this platter"

He pointed to the picture

Estelle Russard
Nov 7th, 2002, 01:05:30 AM
Estelle looked over to where Plo was pointing on the menu.

"Hm..thats the...cashew chicken. One of my favorites, actually. You would be safe with that I think."

A sparely dressed Twi'lik server came over, true to the hosts words, and asked for their orders.

Estelle ordered the very dish Plo had referred to, and a large orange juice to drink.

"What about you, Plo - have you decided?"

Plo Koon
Nov 11th, 2002, 10:07:58 AM
"I think I'll have what your having"

He told the Twi'lik that he wanted the same dish as the lady and ordered a glass what was called "Root Beer" as a drink.

Estelle Russard
Nov 13th, 2002, 09:46:15 PM
The Twi'lek took their order and sashayed off between tables to enter it into their system.

It would not take long for the food to arrive.

Estelle was happy to be out and having some social time. The Order was a hectic place, and so the chance to eat a good meal, with some good company in an interesting surrounds was a nice treat.

She noticed Plo was looking about him, taking in all the different life forms that literally swarmed about the restaurant. She leant forward to say something to her padawan, when a bump at the back of her chair made her turn around to see what it was.

Behind her stood 3 Aqualish, one looking at her, the other two scanning Plo over. She asked politely, "Yes?"

Plo Koon

Watching the Twi'lek scuttle off, he had watched all the different forms of life in the restaurant. It was a real treat to see all different types of races and species. He was looking around when he had noticed three little bug eyed spider looking people walk up behind his master. He woundered what they were and why they were here?

Estelle Russard
Nov 16th, 2002, 10:22:43 PM
The first one spoke - the larger of the three. He did not speak basic, and so the second - the smallest of the three, translated.

In a nutshell, the Aqualish were asking Plo Koon how much he would sell Estelle to them for, promising him a good price.

Plo Koon
Nov 17th, 2002, 12:59:45 PM
Plo couldnt help but laugh. He did not mean to disrespect them but it was to funny for him. After he got all the laughin out of his system, he spoke

"actually this is my Mast...What do you mean good price?"

Plo grinned under his mask. He wanted to have a bit of fun.

Estelle Russard
Nov 21st, 2002, 12:12:56 AM
Estelle frowned, despite the fact it was obvious Plo was enjoying himself. It was good to hear him laugh.

The Aqualish however, failed to pick up on the joke and the small one spoke up quickly at the prompting of the first.

"Many credits, what is your price?"

The middle alien - the one who had yet to speak - leaned forward and sniffed Estelle's hair and peered closely at her with his arachnid-like eyes. This made both the Jedi sober a little.

"Friend, I believe you have made a mistake. This is a restaurant, not a flesh market." She shifted in her seat to widen the distance from the Aqualish.

The trio did not take kindly to Estelle speaking as to what they perceived "out of turn" and a low garbled exchange took place between the leader and his translator.

Estelle gave Plo a warning look.

Plo Koon
Nov 21st, 2002, 06:00:55 PM
Plo held his hand up to make them stop

"I am sorry... She is not for sale. She is still worth keeping around"

He cuckled softly at how funny it was to see his master look tto him for help.

"If you will excuse us...We have a meal to eat"

James Nairalix
Nov 21st, 2002, 08:01:16 PM
As the three aqualish attemted to buy the woman from her "owner" they didnt notice a man listening in behind them. They seemed a bit disappointed when the Kel Dor refused their offer. With a sharp grin on his face, James stepped up behind them and spoke...

"I'll sell them both to you...15,000 credits. You cant find a better deal anywhere else...."

Judging from their body language, and their dress, the two "slaves" were actually Jedi, and the female seemed to be in charge, despite the Kel Dor's amusing rhetoric. Either way, the aqualish that served as the translator now held a datapad in his hand, ready to complete the transaction.

The look the woman was giving James was priceless, but he knew what he was doing. James offered her a slight wink and a sly grin, signaling for her not to intervene.....

Estelle Russard
Nov 22nd, 2002, 09:16:31 PM
Estelle was already lifting herself out of her seat to stand and set things straight. She did not want herself, and Plo, to become the new "basement bargains" of some alien slavers. But the mischievious smile the stranger flashed her, coupled with a wink, made her hesitate.

Her instincs told her that this situation was not as dire as first glance may appear, and that the man across from her and Plo meant them no harm. Ok, she would play along...a little.

She sank back down into her seat and smiled at Plo, shrugging her shoulders slightly as if to say, "Well, strange things tend to happen in a city like Coruscant."

The Aqualish convened together for a moment, and then gaggled again excitedly to one another.

The translator spoke once more.

"It is a deal."

James Nairalix
Nov 22nd, 2002, 09:34:36 PM
James smiled nonchalantly as he handed over a datapad to the Aqualish so they could complete the transaction. He looked over at Estelle. she was quite the beauty to say the least. The aqualish would probably have her serving drinks, or entertaining guests. Plo would probably be passed on from owner to owner. He would be nothing more than cheap labor with a strong back. Too bad for the aqualish that they weren't getting what they hoped for out of this deal.....

James waited patiently for the transaction to complete. He gave a sharp look towards Plo, as if asking him not to say anything.....

Plo Koon
Nov 25th, 2002, 01:52:30 PM
Plo looked at the man under his eye patchs. He was messing with his own fun. Koon kept himself quite for a bit, knowing Master Russard would intervein if anything bad happened. Crossing his arms infront of him, Plo kept his eye on the mysterious man

Estelle Russard
Nov 25th, 2002, 09:52:50 PM
She was a bit uneasy about this development with the Aqualish and the stranger, though her calm exterior hid such reservations.

Estelle watched on as the Aqualish bobbed and nodded their heads to the stranger and to one another and turned to take possession of their new aquisitions.

The Jedi knight arched an eyebrow in question toward James as to what he planned to do now. She would not like this to deteriorate to violence, but there was no chance in Corelia that she and Plo were leaving that restaurant other than under their own volition.

Her candid brown eyes were clear and a little challenging to the blonde stranger as she and her padawan waited to see just how James handled things.

James Nairalix
Nov 25th, 2002, 10:18:42 PM
The transaction was complete, and James was now 15,000 credits richer. The look Estelle was giving him was entirely expected, as no one like to be enslaved by a stranger on a whim.

As one of the Aqualish reached out to put his hand on Estelle, James stepped in between them....

"Whoa whoa....What are you doing.......You weren't trying to purchase two slaves were you?!"

James' mock surprised tone brought a look of confusion to the three aqualish.....

"Dont you know the New Republic has very strict anti-slavery laws, I dont know if I can turn my head to such a blatant defiance of the law!"

James' face broke into almost an evil grin. The aqualish knew they'd been tricked. Even clearer to them, was the fact that there was nothing they could do about it.......

James stood between the Aqualish and the Jedi. The look on his face told the story. He had tricked the aliens. It was time for them to leave....

Estelle Russard
Nov 25th, 2002, 10:33:04 PM
The Aqualish were indignant and quite offended at Jame's duplicity.

They immediately drew dirks and blasters and grabbed for Plo and Estelle.

"WE HAD A DEAL, SCRUULDOOSH!" (derogatory Aqualish insult meaning lying pastey-skinned scumbag)

James Nairalix
Nov 25th, 2002, 10:45:32 PM
As the aqualish began to make a scene, James eased backward, gently pushing Estelle back as he did. He spoke sternly to the Aqualish...

"You three.....watch your manners"

A look of uneasiness came over the three Aqualish as customers stared on in shock. A stern command, along with subtle force persuasion apparantly went a long way, as the Aqualish drew back their weapons...

Security had already taken notice and were on their way to the scene, as James calmly turned around toward Estelle and Plo....

"Im terribly sorry about that, next time, these three will behave..."

Estelle Russard
Dec 1st, 2002, 02:21:20 AM
As the security moved in, they ushered the Aqualish away with very little protest, in fact none, from them.

James gestured as if asking if he could sit, and then sat anyway. Estelle and Plo exchanged glances.

Estelle turned her frank open gaze onto James.

"So, do you intened to introduce yourself, or shall we guess who has just apparently sold us?"

James Nairalix
Dec 1st, 2002, 02:33:36 AM
James smiled a bit with a confused look on his face...

"You seem a bit, annoyed...."

A security guard that was helping escort the Aqualish out looked over to James for what seemed to be an approval. James nodded his head affirmatively then looked back to Estelle and Plo, laughing in a somewhat confused manner....

"Its not like I was actually going to let them take you, I was just teaching them a lesson, thats all"

Estelle Russard
Dec 1st, 2002, 02:38:56 AM
"I expect you think we should be grateful? Perhaps... but I dont like deception even if it does seem to stem from a desire to help.

You still havent offered your name.."

James Nairalix
Dec 1st, 2002, 02:45:01 AM
"Well if you'd like, I can bring them back in here and hand you over to them. At the time, I didnt think you wanted that...."

The smile didnt diminish from James' face as he spoke...

"James Nairalix, and who might I have the pleasure of speaking with..."

Estelle Russard
Dec 1st, 2002, 02:56:56 AM
Estelle broke a smile at James' comments.

Oh, she knew his type now - the charmingly infuriating type - yes..didnt she know some of those.

"My name is Estelle Russard, and this is Plo Koon. It is nice to make your aquaintance, Mr. Nairalix."

Plo and Estelle's order arrived and the food smelt so good as the steam from it rose up from the plates.

"And we have the pleasure of your company...because...you are just a good deed-doer who helps out complete strangers from the goodness of his heart..?"

Plo Koon
Dec 4th, 2002, 08:33:42 PM
Plo kept himself quiet. Smelling the food as it wafted into his mask. He picked up two sticks that came with the food. Woundering what they were used for. He looked at the man that almost sold them for pennys. He looked at Estelle to show he was uncomfortable with the man but he still was interested in his story. He finally spoke

"Ummm...What are these for?"

He held up to two sticks in his hands

Estelle Russard
Dec 7th, 2002, 09:15:24 PM
Like Plo, she too, was curious as to what this Mr.James Nairalix would have to say for himself. He seemed to carry some authority in the restaurant, judging by the speed and obedience of the security men that removed the Auqalish from them.

Estelle picked up the two sticks that sat also on her own plate, and taking them in one hand - one resting over her thumb, the other threaded between her first two fingers - began to scoop up some of the rice, chicken and cashews in her plate.

She smiled at Plo....she knew it was a lot harder to do than it looked..

"They also have forks for those who find the sticks too bothersome."

James Nairalix
Dec 7th, 2002, 09:41:09 PM
"And if you find the forks too bothersome, we have a Twi'lek girl in the back who will hand feed you"

James leaned back slightly in his seat. It was appartant that he was joking, though the seriousness of his delivery, accompanied by the fact that he didnt laugh, hinted that there may have been some truth to what he said.

Plo Koon
Dec 9th, 2002, 08:18:36 AM
Plo chuckled

"An intergalactic pimp..."

He picked up the forke and began to eat the food. He pushed a little button on the side of his mask witch made it slightly stretched out. It looked like a little box that came out of the center. He picked up the forke and braught it to the fron of his mask. A little panel opend as Plo put the food in. It shut and he tasted the sweet, delicious food. It was a great sensation

"WOW!!!....This food is amazing...I must have more"

Koon began to eat the food more rapidly as with every forke full came the delicious taste.

Estelle Russard
Dec 9th, 2002, 03:33:05 PM
The way Plo ate was...remarkable. And Estelle could see he was enjoying himself by the enthusiasm with which he was polishing off his food.

Finishing a mouthful of her own, Estelle grinned wryly at James, "And do you hand feed patrons also, Mr. Nairalix?"

James Nairalix
Dec 11th, 2002, 08:08:18 PM
James lofted his eyebrows slightly at Estelles's remark...

"Only certain ones who ask nicely enough..."

Estelle Russard
Dec 14th, 2002, 03:49:15 AM
She smiled mischeiviously.

"Well, Plo is not huge on manners, but Im sure he could manage a polite enough request..."

And she popped another helping of rice into her mouth.

Plo Koon
Dec 14th, 2002, 07:39:11 PM
Plo stoped scarfing his food down and poped his head into the conversation

"Are you trying to sell me again?"

Estelle Russard
Dec 14th, 2002, 11:20:14 PM
"Im still making up my mind on that one, Plo"

Her grin took any seriousness from the remark and she laughed
good-naturedly.

"Well, Mr. Nairalix - how long have you worked here as one of the Aqualish removers-slash-personal feeders?"

James Nairalix
Dec 19th, 2002, 10:16:45 PM
James laughed a bit at Estelle's remark about feeding Plo, opting to let her get her own shots in...

"Actually, ive been here since this place opened..."

Estelle Russard
Dec 21st, 2002, 08:18:23 PM
"Really? And how long is that then?"

She continued, by way of explanation "We, Plo and I, are both fairly new to Coruscant, and though I have been to this restaurant once before, am hardly familiar with this amazing city."

James Nairalix
Dec 23rd, 2002, 10:30:26 PM
James smiled a bit...

"We've been open for the past few months now. Business has been going pretty good..."

Though he hadnt asked, a waitress brought him a glass of ice water, then quietly walked away, as if she didnt want to disturb the conversation...

"So what brings you to this part of the city..."

Estelle Russard
Dec 26th, 2002, 06:04:11 PM
"Curiosity, mainly."

Estelle preferred to keep her answer somewhat vague. Mr. Nairalix had been very helpful and most courteous, but the Jedi Knight saw a shrewdness behind his blue smiling eyes that triggered slight warning alarms in her mind.

"Coruscant is a fascinating place."

Jamel Croko'yn
Dec 26th, 2002, 06:26:46 PM
The young boy headed out of the Trail arena's and down the halls. The brown haired youth was on route to an exit, he was told to go to the recruiting room, but after a bit of chitter-chatter about the situation he directed himself to a small vacation of not pleasure, but to gain knowledge as the code of the Jedi says. He wanted ot see Coruscant again, since he had been reassigned to this place when he turned 8, he hadn't seen anything outside of the Jedi Order's Temple.

Another attraction to the never sleeping city of Coruscant was the unbelievable ports for construction. He needed to have someone create the ship that he was choosing to use, as he had been training in the arts of flight on a normal basis during his canidancy, so it was a full fledge plan for him to buy one after his canidancy was over, just as a self-present in congradulation.

Adventuring down the steps he was presented to a carriage speeder that would lead him down the streets to the closest of the resturants, or one of the best for a bit of relaxation before his self-adventure thorought the city for a credit currency built appliance of the ship of his dreams. Seating himself comforotabally inside, he pointed the man to a map that he had wielded in his palm and suggested him to go their instead of that of the closest restuarant as the Jedi Council had assigned him. He didn't like going against their word, but it was them who gave him the freedom of adventuring, they never gave any paticulars. The carriage driver of the Zarbrak race nodded in agreeing gesture adn was off, taking a quick, and sudden path down to the lines in the sky.

Swinging through traffic, he scaved downward to one of the streets that would path him to the restuarant. Quickly dashing thorugh that traffic, managing a 9 minute drive before parking abruptly, and to the pleasure of the boy, before the restuarant of the boy's choose. Tipping the carriage driver a credit or two, he was on his path to the door, strolling in slowly, but concealing his lightsaber under his robe so that he wouldn't offended or result as a confrontation. Taking a quick gander around he noticed someone form the Jedi Order that was within these shelters. Smiling in pleasurment, he strolled optimistically down toward the two. Tapping the Padawan and the female Jedi Master upon their shoulder he gained their full attention and gave a self-welcoming gesture with his hand.

"May I sit?" The boy inquired, rolling his hand to the seat beside Plo.

Estelle Russard
Dec 27th, 2002, 12:12:51 AM
ooc: just fyi Idris - Estelle is a Knight, not a master :)

************************

A little surprised by the arrival of the young teenager, Estelle nodded for him to join them.

"Who might you be, young man?"

Jamel Croko'yn
Dec 27th, 2002, 12:17:41 AM
As he sat comfortbally in the seat, pushing Plo over a bit, but gesturing a hand in apologies, he shifted his head over toward that of whom questioned him. Smiling toward her he leaned back in his seat and his mind adjusted like a radio to the frequency of the question. It was a very easy one, but he wanted to place the words in the perfect content for that of the Jedi Knight Magnititude.

"I am of the Jedi Order, I reside at the Jedi Temple--the name if Jamel Croko'yn." Responding to the statement, he gestured his hand for a shake. Staring at her for her response, the young boy's eyes were kind in gentle. A smile drew upon her face, attempting to draw her into the a shake so that he would know where her respect was.

Plo Koon
Dec 27th, 2002, 01:57:29 PM
Plo liked the young man that sat beside him, not to mention that he was part of the Order. He woundered where he came from

"I dont mean to be rude but...What are your origens? Where did you come from?"

Koon did not want to sound rude but he loved learning about new races that he hasnt heared of or planets for that matter

Jamel Croko'yn
Dec 27th, 2002, 03:43:10 PM
The youth turned his head, and leaned back in his seat once again. His mind rattled with the answer, and as his eyes shifted his mouth opened to reveal and respond.

"Im from Lok, but as you know I reside on Coruscant now under the Temple Council's watch.." Jamel said, as he came to a stand suddenly. Placing his hands onto his robe's hood he drifted it over his head, placing his hands in the sleeves comfortable warmth.

Bowing in a show of respect, a faint smile could be seen through the shadow of the hood while his eyes sparkled with delight. Staring down at the group which were evidently confused by the abrupt gesture. Jamel opened his mouth as he began to reveal the core of his sudden stand & bow.

"I shall be leaving, I must get to the closest shop for I must buy a ship. I will be taking my leave off this planet before I'm granted the Padawanship. So, may the force be with you in these dire times, as I feel a sudden wave of darkness coming, but I must know for a certain." When the last setence was casted out his mouth like a cannon, he shifted himself in a 180 motion, and was down on his path to buy as he wanted and do his self-needed task.

ooc: o_O

Estelle watched as Idris left, not really sure what to make of him and his sudden appearance and abrupt exit.

"How very odd."

Plo Koon
Dec 30th, 2002, 10:28:35 AM
Plo finished his plate and slicked his lips under his mask

"AHHHHH...That was the best tasting meal I have ever had. Nothing like back home"

Koon sat back in his seat as he felt refreshed and full

Estelle Russard
Jan 5th, 2003, 07:18:02 PM
Seeing how much Plo had enjoyed his meal made Estelle glad that they had taken the night off.

Sometimes it was in the everyday things of life, such as talking over dinner, that built bonds - not just training and lessons alone.

"We dont get food like this on Tr' Nuva either, Plo." she agreed, downing another forkful.

Plo Koon
Jan 6th, 2003, 04:23:27 PM
Plo was a bit puzzled about the planet she said she was from

"Tr'Nuva...Where is that? Is it like Courrasant?"

Estelle knew alot about Koon but now it was his turn to learn about her origens

Estelle Russard
Jan 12th, 2003, 11:54:32 PM
She laughed a little.

"No, nothing like Coruscant. It is a small farming community - very quiet, very backwood-sy. Where my family lives is fairly isolated, though there is a bigger town not too far away.

I left there to seek a life that would have greater purpose and meaning than milking cows and baling hay."

James Nairalix
Jan 13th, 2003, 12:28:32 AM
James listened and watched as the two chatted back and forth. When Estelle brought up her past, he decided to join back in..

"Pretty strange how that is. I was born on Kuat. All my life I was meant to be a Telbun. Grow up, get bought by some rich family, so I could be their butler. It would have been an easy life really, and I would have lived in luxory, but I guess we all just want more sometimes..."

He made eye contact with Estelle as he spoke, his voice somewhat trailing off into silence...

Estelle Russard
Jan 13th, 2003, 01:23:42 AM
A smile tugged at her lips as James' point was subtly made.

"And did you, Mr. Nairalix? Get what you want..?"

James Nairalix
Jan 13th, 2003, 01:39:12 AM
James kept his gaze on Estelle...

"Not yet, though the prospect of negotiation would be nice..."

A warm smile slightly crept to his face...

Estelle Russard
Jan 13th, 2003, 02:10:44 AM
She laughed self-consciously, and felt her cheeks heat.

"Well, I wish you the best of luck.."

She put her napkin on the table.

"I think we should be on our way now. "

She looked around for the server to get the bill.

Plo Koon
Jan 14th, 2003, 10:12:29 AM
Plo felt refreshed as they were getting ready to leave. He was glad that they made there way to this place, away from the order. The server droid came back to their table with there bill

"So Mr. Nairalix...If your so use to luxory, why dont you pay for our meal?"

Koon smiled under his mask while looking at Estelle

"If you are lying to me, so help me..." his voice trailed off as he waved a stern finger directly into the face of one of the Aqualish. If what they said was true, apparently Mr. Nairalix owed the three 15,000 credits. He wasn't sure what to believe, but he hadn't gotten any kind of word from his employer. That, in itself, warranted further investigation. He flashed a quick look at the two security guards who stood in the room. Each wore light armor and sported heavy blaster rifles. Not a relaxing sight.

"They don't so much as speak until I return." His words were sharp as he swiftly exited the room.

"Yes sir," they replied in unision, Aaron closing the door behind him. He smiled to himself--he could never have imagined two years ago that he would end up in this position. He was Aaron Vilnaldi, Mr. Vilnaldi to many, second to James Nairilix. Much was to be said about his position, and he never took one second of it lightly.

Reaching the security office, he found the table and location of Mr. Nairilix and then continued on his way. Leaving the security room, past a few of the resteraunt offices and through the kitchen, he paused at the sink. Washing his hands off (it was kind of a complusive disorder) and straightening his suit jacket, he checked his face for anything out of the ordinary. He looked fine...no, he looked good.

"Evening, Mr. Vilnaldi," the chef spoke, passing by him. He was a heavy-set man, in his mid-thirties. His name was Randtu, and he had been minding his own business and operating a fine resteraunt for as long as Vilnaldi could remember.

"Good evening, Randtu." Aaron replied, flashing a smile. "The dewback stew was excellent tonight, might I just compliment you."

"Thank you, sir," he spoke with a flushed smile. He was very conscious of his cooking. Aaron continued, making his way through the kitchen and to the doors that opened to the resteraunt. Coming through, he scanned the dining room. It was tidy and quiet, small voices comprised the backround noises of the pleasant atmosphere. Showtime.

Coming closer to the table, he thought of how to address the situation. He was good with words, and even better with addressing his superior--that's why he had this job. James liked how he worked--it was that simple. He was concise, responsible, heartless, and accountable. The kind of person that could be trusted to do the job he did. It was truly as simple as that.

"Excuse me Sir and Madam," he spoke very softly and with a rich, kind tone to his voice. "I am truly very sorry to interrupt your meal. Mr Nairilix, if I may trouble you for a moment."

"Excuse me," James spoke, rising from the table and accompanying Aaron to a few feet from it. They were just far enough from the others so that they could still hear the conversation, but far enough away so that they weren't talking at the table.

"The three gentlemen you had escorted back to the cashier's office seem to have a problem. They claim that you owe them compensation from a different occasion, and that they will not leave nor be satisfied until that debt is reconciled." He had a slight hint of something to his voice, something only he and James really understood. A code--a type of body language and annunciation that he and his employer could detect.

Even though the Aqualish were still being a problem, James was pretty much unaffected. It took alot to shake him, and tonights incidents hadnt even started to scratch the proverbial armor. He took a moment to think, only a moment though, barely long enough to take a breath. Aaron was smart, but he wasnt too forward, a trait that served him well. He already knew what James wanted, but made the effort to double check. Thorough, very thorough.

"Have them recompensated for what I owe, and send them on their way. My comlink's on, let me know if you have any further complications."

James offered a polite pat on the shoulder and made his way back to the table where Estelle and Plo were preparing to leave....

"Im sorry bout that, and im sorry that things werent so pleasant. The meal is taken care of, its the least I can do."

James' smile brightened up slightly...

"And maybe the next time you're in town, I can make things up to you....My card...."

He followed up his statement by handing Estelle a business card. On the front was the number and address to his office. On the back, another number was written, presumably a more personal number....

Surprised at Plo's forwardness regarding the bill, and even more surprised that James Nairalix agreed to pay it. Estelle could only manage a gracious murmuring of "thankyou" and "thats very kind of you Mr. Nairalix."

The young man that had just been speaking with James stood a little apart from them now, and then turned to complete the business that had interupted them. He struck Estelle as smart, efficient and he carried himself with a polite charm.

James was a clever man, and surrounded himself with clever men it would seem. Not for the first time that evening, Estelle thought there much more to Mr. Nairalix than what one could see.

She took the offered business card, flipping it over and seeing the second number on its back. She blushed a little, and in the back of her mind knew she would never dare call it..

"Thank you once again, Mr. Nairalix. It has been our pleasure to meet you, and be purchased - or was it sold? - by you." She joked and laughed a little.

"Im sure we will be back again, sometime."

"Of course, sir," he replied. He wasted no time with his exit. He nodded back to the other guests and turned sharply on his heal to leave. The female--she was very attractive. Upper class--maybe royalty or of political leadership. He didn't know which, but she was quite a site. The other was...a...a...Kel Dor. That's it. He almost couldn't remember the name. Though he had never met one before, he was quite aware of the galaxy and its different races.

Making his way back again, through the kitchen, he stopped at the sink. Rubbing some soap onto his hands and scrubbing it off with warm water, he ran through a few thoughts in his head. He knew what needed to be done, and he knew exactly how James would want it handled. The aqualish would not be leaving here with any compensation--no, that was too easy. They had come onto Mr. Nairilix's own property, insulted his guests, insulted him, and tried to corrupt his credibility.

As he neared the door to the back room, he went over the final details in his head. They had two choices: the smart one and the foolish one. The smart one was to accept nothing, apologize, leave quietly, and never come back. The foolish choice was to fight for what they thought was theirs.

For their sake, he hoped they made the smart decision.

He entered the room, the door sliding shut behind him. His hand slipped down, silently, behind his back and pressed the locking key. The door made a soft click as it locked into place. Aaron continued to the table where his three "guests" sat. Removing his suit jacket, he laid it neatly across an unused chair and pulled another one up to the table. He sat in it backwards, his arms resting on the back.

"You have spoken with your--"

"Shh, shh, shhhh." Aaron spoke, his finger coming up to wave off the translator's words. "Allow me to explain the situation. You find yourselves now at a turning point. You decided to enter my employer, Mr. Nairilix's, establishment and you acted unruly. Then, you further insult his intelligence by brining up matters of old debts, and attempt to humilate him by making them a public matter. This behavior cannot be tolerated, gentlemen." He stood, sliding the chair aside.

"You now have a choice. You can leave here peacefully and on your own two legs with the intent never to return," he stared into the eyes of each figure. "Or, you can hold on to whatever indignity you have left and be taught a lesson." One of the aqualish slammed his hand down onto the table, rambling in native toungue.

"He says...he says that...they will choose to...get..." the traslator seemed nervous. "They will choose...to get...get their money back." Aaron rolled up his shirt sleeves and gripped the chair beside him.

"You've made your choice, then." He swung the chair violently, breaking it's wooden supports across the head of the angered Aqualish. The being grunted and fell to the floor, clutching his face. Aaron then threw the table over, the heavy tabletop slamming down on top of the translator, pinning him to the ground. The other Aqualish stood, but Aaron was too quick. He tackled him to the floor, coming on top of him, throwing a barage of fists into his face, pummeling him.

"I...hoped...you...would...make...a...smarter...DEC ISION!" He threw a final punch, the aqualish's grip went limp. Aaron stood up, his face contorted with rage, his white, button-up oxford shirt splattered with blood, fists covered in it. He took a look around the room--they were still breathing as far as he could tell.

"Get them the hell out of here." He turned back to face the translator. "And if Mr. Nairilix ever sees your faces around here again, he won't be so forgiving." With that, Vilnaldi exited the room. Another employee approached him.

"Sir, are you allright?" The employee spoke. Not all knew of the dealings behind closed doors that this resteraunt housed.

"I'm fine. Send for a new shirt and tie for me. I'll be in my office." With that, he made his way back to his office, where a sink and a cold drink waited for him.

James laughed. He was glad to see she had found the humor in the situation. James bowed his head slightly.

"Its always a pleasure to meet a Jedi, Ms. Russard. And you Mr. Koon, I trust you wont remain a stranger either."

James offered a handshake to Plo. Behind them, the server droid was already cleaning up their table. The droid noticed that the bill was still sitting there and started to take it to them, til It noticed the word Paid printed in larger letters, with the signature James S. Nairalix scribbled underneath.
