View Full Version : Running Late (open)

It was a cold night on the city-planet of Coruscant. Colder than most it seemed. Silus was on his way to Logan's, an upscale bar, a far cry from the seedy run down bars he had become accustomed to while dealing in the Coruscant Underground.
Despite dragging himself away from his ship 5 minutes early, Silus was running late. "Shes probably there already" he thought to himself, as he trudged through the crowd.
He traveled them purposely though. Run in's with NR guards and even a Jedi were just cause for him to choose routes of which he wouldnt be recognized as easy.
It would be another 10 mins before he arrived at his current rate of travel. He was already supposed to be there....
If it took much longer, Silus would be forced to take a shortcut.....leaving him more vulerable to being seen....

A beautiful young woman sat along the shadowed perimeter of an upperclass bar known as Logan's. Clad in black velvety robes that hid her against the darkness, she seemed to be unnoticed by the common passer-by. Her blonde hair remained straight and touched the middle of her back, parts pulled forward a bit touched the side of her face and matched the contour of her bone structure.
Letting her blue eyes drift to the crono on the wall, she sighed and looked out the window, noting it was getting later and he still wasn't here. She sighed gently to herself and looked back to the door, knowing that he would not leave her hanging like this unless he had a good reason. So the young woman sat in waiting, praying that she would not be recognized by anyone....for her past had proven quite deadly.....

Sene had been simply walking to get some air, or at least as much air as one could gather in the Coruscant night. As usual, he was dressed in street clothes; since he hardly wanted to gather attention to himself. However despite his casual apperance Sene's lightsaber still lay heavy on his side underneath his long black overcoat. As he walked his eyes were firmly focused on the ground beneath him, watching nothing, all focus on the cracks in the walkway.
AHHHHHHHHHHH!
A scream in the distance sent his face shooting up. He quickly scanned the minds of those around him until he pinpointed the center of the disturbance. He smiled. Just a woman with too much liquor in her system. As he brought his head back down to the ground a warning shot through the force smaked into his mind.
A man who had something to hide.....
Rarely was this any good. Sene scanned the crowd of beings that surrounded him till he saw the one he wanted. Nothing different jumped out from his apperence. He walked like a man from Coruscant would, but the force didn't lie. There was something amuck. Deciding he had had enough air for the evening, Sene dropped in behind him and followed. He would get to the bottom of this.....

This was taking entirely too long. Breathing a heavy sigh, Silus cut down a dark alley way. Though he wasnt in a bad part of town, dark alleys still werent a safe place. Silus wrapped his arms up into his coat. It looked as if he were wrapping up from the cold, and he was to a degree, but the real purpose was to rest a hand on one of his sabers, should the need arise for him to use it....
A funny feeling had started plaguing him. It was probably just the fact of not liking his current location, but he stayed on guard none the less....

Sene allowed his prey to dart down a side alley and gain a few seconds on him. He needed to be careful now. He couldn't follow too close in his pursuit or all would be lost.
After a few seconds, Sene followed into the alley. In the distance he could see the shadow of the man he was following.
Careful Sene. Patience is necessary now.
Knowing he still had a force lock on the man, Sene slowed to a walk and tucked his hands in his pockets. Patience....

It was appartant now. Silus was being followed. He hadnt seen the person following him, he felt it...Whoever it was, they were a bit to curious for his liking, and they did seem to be using the force...Other than that, Silus was clueless....
Silus had his saber in his hand now, though it was still tucked in his coat...
Silus was glaring at the corner of the alley. Once he turned the corner, it would be a full blast run to Logan's...

It was getting kind of late and Brent was feeling a bit tired. He just got done winning a drinking contest with some of the locals. They didn't know that he could block out most of the effect the liquor which was probably a good thing in the end.
Brent left the bar and was on his way to the hotel room he was staying at. When he felt two faint force signals in the area. It seemed one of the readings was a little ways behind the other one.Letting his curiosity get the better of him he started running toward the two force signals.
After about a minute or 2 he finely got to the dark alley way which it seemed they we're both in. He looked in and saw only a fate outline of one of the men and he seemed to be coming Brents way. Making a good guess by reading the signals it was probably the one being followed. Brent put his hand on his on the handle of his light saber which was hid in his coat. Then he lead against the wall and waited to see if he could be of any help.

Silus trudged on, his pace had already quickened. As he walked, Silus noticed another person in the alley. Another force user.
Silus looked to the end of the alleyway. It was close. He didnt want to take off running right yet. If he could make it around the corner then he could get a good head start, just in case one or both of these men were faster runners than he.
Inside his coat, Silus tightly kept his grasp on his saber, though to the men following him, he just looked cold....

Something wasn't right. Sene could sense something from his prey. Could he know? Now was not the time for second guesses. He was in this now and he had to go through with it all the way. Maybe he was just cold.....
From behind him he could sense a new player in the game. A force user. Was it a Jedi or a Sith? Sene just hoped the newcomer was an ally....he wasn't sure he could deal wth two people...
Up ahead the end of the alley beckoned. The man he followed was nearing his exit. Anticipation grew within Sene as adrenalin surged in his body. The hunt was almost over.....but was he the prey?

62 watched the man still walking up the street and could still fell the other man as well. He wasn't sure who they were or if this was a trap. He wouldn't be able to take 2 people on by his self...so he was really hoping that it wasn't a trap. So 62 stayed against the wall...staying ready for any thing.

At this point, both men had probably figured out that Silus was a force user. He was sensing it from them, so it only made sense that they were sensing it from him. But the man who had initially been following, he seemed to be locked on Silus more than the other man was.
Silus expanded his awareness of the area, focusing on the buildings around him, on every little detail around. Not that he was worried about anyone else sneaking up on him, but this would make it harder to pinpoint where Silus was. It would make it easier for Silus to blend in with his surroundings.
Opting not to run now, Silus turned the corner an ducked into a nook in the building, completely masking his physical form in shadows.

Sene stopped in his tracks. The mans presence exploded to fill the alley. He couldn't pinpoint him as he saw the shadow in front of him disappear around the corner. Sene had known he was a force user....he just didn't know how powerful. Sucking in a breath he didn't know he had held, he darted down the alley, and after the man he was following.

62 was still watching the power from the two men to see when they was getting closer. Then before they reached the end of the alley the power from the first man seemed to exploded threw out the whole alley.
"It's about time now" he said to him self as he began to walk down the alley way he was feeling the power coming from. He still had his hand on the handle of his light saber so he would be able counter fast, just in case he was attacked.
As he was walking down the alley way he heard the sound of what he figured to be the second man running. But it didn't seem to bother him in the least, because he still kept walking down the alley way looking for the first man. To see what was going on.

An eerie feeling passed over the alleyway, as total silence took its grip. The only sounds to be heard were the footsteps of Silus' pursuers. Silus himself stood still, the slightest motion could possibly reveal his location.
Occasionally, the two would here strange noises. Faint and undecipherable noises. Sometimes these noises got closer, sometimes farther, but they were still present, yet their orgin was unknown.
The first man to begin pursueing Silus was the only follower in Silus' line of sight. As he darted down the alley after Silus, Sene heard the distinctive sound of a lightsaber igniting behind him....
Silus watched on from the distance. He had yet to move, his saber was still deactivated, resting under his coat...

A lightsaber clicked on behind him. Damn two force users.
Sene was at the end of the alley now and made a quick left. Nothing. The man he was following was gone....like a ghost his presence was unfelt. White noise filled his head. He must be doing this. In the street Sene spun around reaching for his lightsaber, but not igniting it. He searched the roof tops for his prey, but he saw nothing. He was gone.....

62 kept following the same path as before. He was looking in every shadow he could find. Looking at any thing strange that he seen but he didn't find anything just yet.

Silus kept still as 62 walked by. Giving the man ample time to put distance between them, Silus stepped out of hiding. Ahead of him stood Number 62, further on Silus could see Sene. Silus' force presence returned to normal. Both men were sure to have noticed him now.
Silus stood, staring at the two men. He was still a mere silhouette, an outline against the dreary backdrop. He stood with a deactivated lightsaber in his right hand, keeping his eyes focused on the two Jedi....

He was behind him......
Sene spun around putting his lightsaber out in front of him in a defensive position, but not turning it on. The man who had decided to follow was directly behind him, with the silhoutte of his prey focusing on them both furthur down.
He had played a trick and gotten the better of Sene. This was not good. He was trained in the force and was experienced. Sene hadn't fought an experienced force user in a while....
Sene decided to break the ridiculous silence that echoed through the alley:
"Who are you two strangers?"

Silus shot an unseen grin towards Sene. 62 was yet to have spoken. silus however decided to break his silence...
You are far too nosy, "stranger"
He spoke loudly, letting his echo carry through the alley.

62 looked at both of the people. He didn't say a word when asked about his name, so he wouldn't give out to much information on his self. Instead he just watched the 2 men very closely. Ready to strike, if needed.

Nosy?!?! Well as a Jedi he was taught to be suspicious...so nosy was a rather good discription of him. The second man hadn't answered and that conserned Sene. He didn't like mysterious people at all. Maybe that was why he followed the first man in the first place.
"I have been simply looking out for the safety of my fellow citizens. My name is Sene Unty. I am a Jedi. If both of you could just tell me what your intent is...I will let you be. I don't want to bother a person who is doing something harmless...."

As much as it pains me to tell you this, the Jedi hold no authority over me, so Im afraid you'll have to accept ignorance on this topic...
Silus kept his saber ready, and his eyes set firmly ahead of him. Sene wasnt a concern at the moment. 62 was closer, and Silus was keeping an eagle's eye on him. If Sene decided to procede forward Silus would have more time to react, more so than if 62 decided to proceed forward....

"I don't think you should worry about anything but your own life right now...."
A woman's voice came from behind Sene as a click was heard and the barrel of a blaster was felt being placed against the back of his head.
"It would be unwise of you to pursue this man any further....so I suggest you forget this ever happened and leave."
After thinking a moment, the woman laughed to herself and looked over at Silus, smiling and understanding why he had been late to their date.
"You call yourself a Jedi.....yet you hunt down two men and try to start fights. I guess they'll let anyone into that Order now...."
A mocking laugh escaped her lips as she shoved the barrel at his head again, jamming it into his skull. This would be quite interesting to say the least....

Brent Smiled at the events unfolding. Then he thought to his self "this might end up being kind of fun". He turned his head and looked at the woman that was holding one of his fellow Jedi at gun point then. Then he said "put the gun down". As he said this he used the force to push the woman's finger away from the trigger of the gun. Then he used the force again to force the woman's arm down to her side. Which he figured would give the Jedi more than enough time to do as he wished.

Seeing what 62 was doing nearly sent Silus into a rage. Of all the things he could have done, messing with Carmen was the worst. His blood was now boiling as his eyes narrowed on 62. Silus paced slowly to his right. As he did 62 began feeling a slight discomfort around his throat. This was becoming the focus of Silus' anger. Before 62 would have time to catch on to what was happening to him, Silus quit holding back. Silus clamped down on 62 with the force, quickly cutting of his air supply. Silus grit his teeth, and every muscle in his upper body tightened as he focused his anger on 62.
The choke brought 62 down to one knee, as he could no longer breathe. As it did, Silus drew his other saber in his left hand, letting both of the menacing red blades ignite at once...
He would deal with this one quickly........

He couldn't breath anymore and his vision was starting to fade to black. He could only see the faint sight of Silus but that was enough. He used every bit of the force he could summon at that time. Then Silus could feel a force pulling him slowly off the ground, then out of no where it threw him toward the wall of the alley with great strengh.

As Silus stalked toward 62, he was thrown through the air by 62's force throw. He hit the wall hard, losing grip of one of his sabers upon impact. The force choke he had on 62 tightened abruptly and then stopped, as the pain from the hit amplified the choke, but broke Silus' concentration.
Silus rebounded from the hit and landed on his feet, though his legs buckled and he went down to his knees. He was relentless though. Barely taking the time to draw a breath, Silus was back to his feet. The saber that was knocked from his hand was immediately pulled back with the force. Rather than reactivate it, Silus clipped it back behind him, under his coat, and continued on his path toward 62...

Sene allowed himself to fall as the man in front of him...an ally obviously...pushed the gun away from the back of Sene's head. The woman who had gotten the drop on him fell back as her blaster was pushed to her side. He had been concentrating on the wrong person. Focusing his senses on one thing and forgetting that he left his back open for an attack. What a fool he was....but now was not the time for beating himself up. Stand Sene and gain control of the situation.
Igniting his lightsaber and aiming it in front of him in a defensive position, he looked at the woman as she exerted control back on her blaster. He frowned at her:
"I don't know who you are lady, but I seriously meant no harm. I was just looking out for the safety of the people of Coruscant. We don't have to fight...."

62 took a breath before standing back up. He was still breathing deeply from being choke but he tired to not show it. The man started walking toward with one of his sabers ignited so 62 did the same. He pulled his saber up in a position that showed he would be ready to strike and began walking towards the stranger.

62 was now coming toward Silus, and from the looks of things, he meant business. A slight grin etched across Silus' face as the two neared each other.
With the distance closed, Silus immediately feinted a high saber strike, then half-circled around 62. Expectedly 62 stayed facing Silus. Silus stopped and backed up a step, squaring up his shoulders and tapping his saber against the duracrete ground beneath him.
Silus glanced over at Sene and Carmen, then quickly returned his attention to 62. He didnt want Carmen to get hurt in this, so he backstepped again, putting enough distance between himself and 62 to safely turn his attention back to Sene. Reaching his arm out, Silus force pushed Sene. The push wasnt hard enough to knock the Jedi down, just hard enough to make him stumble. Silus then squared his shoulders back up, returning his attention to 62...
