I know about Kazaa, and Morpheus, but I would like some opinions on other Downloading programs. I want a good, reliable one. If you guys have any recommendations, please let me know which one you like. No dissing/flaming in your reviews, please. Thank you.

If you wish to use the Fasttrak network, I'd reccomend uninstalling KaZaA, running AdAware, and installing KaZaA-Lite. Other than that, I use Direct Connect++. I hear eDonkey isn't too bad.

I don;t have a downloading program, that's the thing. I want to get some opinions before I go out and just get any old thing.

I've used DC++, WinMX, Morpheus and Kazaa. Out of those I recommend Kazaa and have no idea what Kazaa-Lite is. :\

1 - Don't use stock Kazaa
2 - Don't use stock anything but WinMX or Direct Connect.

The reasons are rather compelling. Morpheus, Kazaa etc all install stuff that tracks whatever you do on your computer and devours resources, adding non-web popup ads.

If you use most of these programs, go download Ad-Aware now. www.ad-aware.com

A lot of common crashes and weird quirks can suddenly dissapear when this terrible, borderline illegal software is removed.

Kazaa lite instead of Kazaa. Same program, sans crap.

I use Direct Connect and Kazaa lite. I wouldn't reccomend DC to others for various reasons.

I got ad-aware. I need to get ad-aware for my family at home, then. That comp is screwed up. I think that'll help it out. If anyone can direct me to the page that lets me download Kazaa-lite I would appreciate it.

DC++ is very complicated and requires a lot of faffing around. PLus the hubs are rather snooty: "We require you to have at least 10GB of shared files before you are even concidered membership for our refined group of intellects and share our divine files!" They say before taking a sip of Bollinger.

There is a group out there demanding a tera before you can join. My A+ teacher has a program where it makes them think hes got a tera. ^_^

I use my friends!

^-^

They already have any songs I'd want on their comps, so they send 'em to me.

I have 50~something gigs shared, but some of the slot requirements are rather inane. I'm on a private DC++ hub, and its simply excellent.

The google refers to www.google.com :p

Christ, I remember back in my ignorant days of using stock Kazaa.

But they gotta make the money somehow.
