Hmmm, last night at work I just about cut my finger off with a razor. I know I got a vein, it was squirting blood with every heart beat. I immediatly covered it up with gauze and bandages but it soaked through those and kept on bleedin. so I just kept gauzin it up and covered it with medical tape. It soaked through that too, so I did that one last time and that seemed to have held last night, but now that i changed bandages this morning, the skin is all white around the wound, like dead skin, but the cut is still bleeding, ive got it bandaged up again, but I dunno bout it, maybe I should see a doc...

yeah, I just did. They said it was too late to suture it (stitches), so all they could do was bandage it up some more and gave me a tetnus shot cuase it happened with a razor.

being that I work in a Hospital and have a vast knowledge of such..:D save your money ,wrap that sucker, throw a little antiseptic on it ever so often. splint it so you can't bend it. or if you can get some stuff called NEW SKIN(if they did not stitch it) that's what they should have put on it.Sounds like a little flesh wound and if it did not cut to the bone and you have some feeling in it you are ok. Oh do dip it in Karosene(sp) for soreness.ok now that's said my bill is in the mail;)

im not exactly sitting here bleeding, just trickling with it, but the gauze and butterfly bandages dont seem to be stoping it, and the wound isnt looking any better

You'll be lucky if you keep your finger, dude. If it gets infected, with a wound that deep, your screwed. Then, all you can do is tie a tourniquet on it and go get it amputated. Not getting emergency care right away was about the stupidest thing you could have done.

Keep it wrapped up fairly tightly, and try to tape it so that the wound is compressed, but not pinched. Clean it regularly with medical grade ethanol or hydrogen peroxide, and pray to whatever deity you believe in.

if it is still bleeding it maybe that you are using it to much. I would splint it so you can not bend/bump it. If you are doing all that, I would get some Newskin, it does a great job, I (think) you can get it at your local drug store(not 100% sure) Now do don't tighten it to much.I so suspect that if it is a good sized cut you will have x amount of bleeding for a few day's. DO NOT USE THAT FINGER for awhile.even typing with a cut finger can cause what is trying to bond to loosen up.
