At least Buffalo won! :):)

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 29th, 2002, 03:01:54 PM
Yeah I was surprised my Chiefs won, sorry JMK, I should have picked them but I figure they lose another close high scoring game. Their Offense is awesome but there defense is horrible, oh well at least they will be in every game :D

JMK
Sep 29th, 2002, 07:12:28 PM
I couldn't believe Fiedler threw 5 interceptions today. Just as I was starting to have a little faith that he could run a simple yet dazzling and effective offense, he lays a huge egg. Good thing the Pats lost too, I don't want the Dolphins staring at their rear in the standings. Speaking of the Pats, only 4 of us picked them to lose this week. And I knew the Saints weren't for real! Way to get spanked by the Lions! :lol

Jedieb
Sep 29th, 2002, 07:49:55 PM
That Miami/Pats game next weekend is going to be HUGE! Damn, the Chiefs' offense looks impressive. Too bad they can't stop ANYONE. The Dolphins can take solace in that they were still able to run the ball effectively. The fist are going to be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time. Maybe they needed a good wakeup call.

The Rams have now cost me 4 wins. I'll be picking the Niners next week which probably means the Rams will pull off an upsest. Stupid Rams. :mad

Nathanial K'cansce
Sep 29th, 2002, 08:01:19 PM
He threw 5 interceptions!?

For crying out loud that bugger lost me 15 fantasy points! I needed those... I'm playing the only person in our league that has scored over 100 FP's a game in the first three games...

I'm pretty sure my butt was handed to me on a silver platter now.

:(

Sep 29th, 2002, 08:34:22 PM
I'm tempted to do the day's tallys now... the Vikings could pack up, get on the plane and go home, since it would make no difference... Shaun Alexander is running over them like they aren't even there...

200 all-purpose yards and 5 TDS in the first half?

Talk about a fantasy leaguer's dream...

Figrin D'an
Sep 29th, 2002, 09:09:46 PM
And now the Vikings, who actually started to take advantage of sloppy second half play by the Seahawks, have shot themselves in the foot with dropped balls.

The crowd in Seattle is really getting after Randy Moss, and he's only making it worse with poor play....

My Chiefs looked really good offensively, finally they decided to throw it to the best TE ever and he had a heck of a game. Their defense is a huge problem, part of it is they need to get to the QB, because their secondary is average at best (I am probably being kind there), The Chiefs will finish at .500 I think, could go 9-7 maybe, but to get to playoffs I think there defense has to get better.

JMK

You're right JMC, Gonzalez absolutely burnt the hell out of the Dolphins. I give full marks to the Chiefs for recognizing that Surtain was out and exploiting that weakness. They just couldn't do a damn thing to stop him yesterday.

Sene Unty

First of all I dont want to talk about the dolphins. I couldn't believe they lost........

Next I want to say......NO ONE TOUCHES MY SHOES!!! THEY"RE MINE!!!!! :D

Oh and I picked San Diego to come out on top against the Pats....I'm a genius :D

Jedieb
Sep 30th, 2002, 12:59:13 PM
I thought the Lions and the Bills would lead to me to a big week, but teams llike the Vikings and Dolphins let me down. Could you imagine how we'd all do if we had to go against the spread? And how the hell is Jon picking games, with the help of a blind monkey?:p

Figrin D'an
Sep 30th, 2002, 02:11:48 PM
There were a fair number of us that pick San Diego to beat New England. It's hardly a major upset, in my opinion. The Chargers might have the best defense in the league, they have a strong O-Line, a great running back, and a quarterback that plays smart and can make the big throws when needed. KC proved last week that it's possible to put up huge rushing numbers on the Pats defense. Holmes ran wild against them, and now Tomlinson has done the same. As long as Tomlinson stays healthy, the Chargers are a playoff contender, even in a very good AFC West. I've picked the Chargers each of the first four weeks, and for good reasons.

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 30th, 2002, 02:32:21 PM
Looks like me and Reaper have had the best week, I credit my success for going on a limb and picking Arizona and Buffalo, I had a feeling about both teams there. I wish I hadn't went against my Chiefs then I would have had a heck of a week.

JMK
Sep 30th, 2002, 02:45:24 PM
Figrin, only 4 of us took the Chargers, so roughly a third of us are geniuses. In hindsight, it may not have been a big upset, but not that many people are going against the Pats at this point. I only took the Chargers because I hate the Pats!

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 30th, 2002, 03:36:03 PM
I picked the pats myself, I thought the game could go either way but I went with the pats. Just curious did anybody pick Baltimore tonight? If not they I think its safe to say we can a win to everyone's totals, Baltimore is horrible.

JonathanLB
Sep 30th, 2002, 04:57:35 PM
I really suck at picking this year. I'm doing awful.

Shuddap Jedieb, haha. Damnit, why must I be so bad this year. I just can't get anything right.

Nobody would have called most of those upsets unless they were just being silly, which makes me think that someone who knows nothing about football honestly would be doing far better than me because at least they wouldn't have any assumptions, like "The Rams are good," or "The Panthers cannot really be good," hehe, etc.

Hey thats my blind monkey! *steals it back from Jonathan* :mad

Right now, the way Denver is playing, I wouldn't jump the gun on adding that win in just yet...

Jedieb
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:18:57 PM
I'm surprised Denver's defense hasn't been more dominant. The Ravens are feeding off the crowd and it's their defense that's taken control. Right now, O'Neal, Denver's best corner and punt returner, just lost his head and touched an official and he's been disqualified. This could end up costing Denver big, especially if Heep makes it back into the game.

Lilaena De'Ville
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:20:37 PM
:) And everyone laughed at me for picking Baltimore.

Heck, you'll probably still be laughing at me when its over. :D

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:33:06 PM
I have no idea how Baltimore is beating Denver, Baltimore is terrible one of the worst three teams in the league IMO, Denver is playing just horrible right now, I think I will have to take back about them winning the AFC West.

Jedieb
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:35:55 PM
This looks like a typical Ravens game from their Superbowl run. Denver just looks totally outmatched against the Raven defense. The Ravens looked simply horrid against the Bucs, while the Broncos were smacking the Niners all over the field. What the hell is going on this season?

Figrin D'an
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:39:15 PM
It's one game... even if they lose, they'll be 3-1, which is just fine at this point, because division play hasn't kicked into high gear. I wouldn't worry about it. The main reason Denver is down is penalties. On the Ravens second touchdown drive, the Ravens only had 30 yards of offense... the rest of the 51 yards was covered through foolish penalties on the Broncos. They're just having an off night... there is still another whole half to play as well.

Jedieb
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:43:41 PM
Heap is just abusing them. Denver will be 3-1, but they could just as easily be 2-2. I think Denver could come back in the second half and make a game of it, but this is just a horrid effort form a team that was looking a serious contender just a few days ago.

Jedieb
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:47:02 PM
Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you see that?! Can this season get any weirder? Denver just looks completely inept. As they were lining up for the kick I thought to myself; "This could easily get blocked and give the Ravens a TD." But returning the short FG attmept 108 yards for an NFL record is just unbelievable!

Figrin D'an
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:47:45 PM
Although that 108 yard return doesn't help Denver's chances in the second half...

Good lord... that's horrible special teams coverege... even if it was a field goal attempt... that's just pathetic...

JMK
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:50:17 PM
This is just shocking! I guess the Broncs figured they were being presented a week 4 gift, just like the Saints thought. Never saw this one coming.

This has been a strange season so far, and it makes for tough choices. Have the Lions won their only game of the year? Are the Ravens going to come to "life"? Difficult questions to answer. Meditate on this, I will. :D

Jedieb
Sep 30th, 2002, 08:56:07 PM
I think the Lions can win 5-7 games this year. Harrington can make enough plays to give Detroit something to hope for. I'm just wondering if we're going to see any team be consistent this year. New England looked like world beaters the first 2 games of the season, but they've been literally run over the last 2 games. The Dolfins got overwhelmed at home. The Broncos are being throttled by a winless Ravens squad. The Rams may not win a game until late October. And Quincy Carter may end up keeping his job as a starting QB in the National Football League. What's next, a team from New England not named the Celtics actually wins a World Championship? Wait a minute, that already.....

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 30th, 2002, 09:08:07 PM
Yeah the Ravens looked awful in there first two games, they only had 80 some yards in 3 quarters against the Panthers, maybe it is because it is monday night football and they are just playing above there heads, I don't think they will play like that this whole season, I doubt they will win more than 4-5 games.

Lilaena De'Ville
Sep 30th, 2002, 09:18:28 PM
Yes but they will win tonight, and thats all I care about :D

Hey Sene, my buddy's getting me an official Dolphins jersey for selling a certain amount of shoes at his sports store. The bonus is that it comes with free numbering and lettering. So who should I get? The obvious choice is Williams, but everyone's gonna get him, so I don't know. But Ricky is so damn good! Surtain, Madison, Thomas, McMichael, Chambers? I don't know!!! Help me!!! And don't even date suggest Fiedler! Marino, however is still an option...

I was tired and didn't feel like rearranging them... all I did was copy and paste from the first post of the thread, then change the numbers...

I'll do it now that I have time...
