"Congratulations to our newest Knight of the Order. My former student Hunk!

May the Force grace him with its wisdom through the new trials that await him in the future!"

HOO-WAY! GO Hunk!

Sep 18th, 2002, 05:21:10 PM
Congratulations Hunk! May you serve the Order well and may the Light guide you in this dark Universe......

Zeke
Sep 18th, 2002, 05:21:25 PM
Zeke entered decked out in his rap gear. He set down his ghettoblaster and started.

"Go Hunk! It's your birthday! Go Hunk! It's your birthday!
Now you're a knight and a strong Force user
You got a room full of friends, a bottle full of drink
Everyone's here for you and it feels pretty great!
You're the man of the hour, the V.I.P.
You get the first slice of the P-I-E
So draw out your saber and fight for peace
Put a smile on, you've been knighted, Hunk!"

Zeke handed him a bottle and made his exit.

Hunk
Sep 18th, 2002, 09:18:06 PM
He popped the cork, watching it fly across the room as the contents of the bottle bubbled over the top, spilling on the floor.

*sniff* "Thank's Zeke, that was beautiful, man."

He signalled the bartender, getting a half dozen empty glasses which he quickly filled with the champagne. Drinks are on me, folks, help yourself.

"Now where's that dj? It's time to party!"

ooc. YAY! :D

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 19th, 2002, 07:43:42 PM
In a quick motion, Diego caught the flying cork, sending it back to where it came.

"Congrats...chief."

Diego passed by the Jedi...his words mysterious as to their true meaning.

Hunk
Sep 19th, 2002, 08:52:00 PM
"Hey, it's....(he thought for a moment, remembering the face) Diego! Still as cheerful as ever, I see," he said clapping the passing man on the back.

"Sit down for a bit, enjoy the celebration. It'd be good for you."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 19th, 2002, 09:06:06 PM
"I'd rather not. Celebration isn't my forte'."

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 19th, 2002, 09:08:01 PM
"Who is this?"

She asked her former pupil. It was a familiar man to Hunk but not to her.

Hunk
Sep 19th, 2002, 09:11:20 PM
"Diego, may I introduce my instructor, Miss Navaria Tarkin. Navaria, this is Diego, very clean fellow, but not much of a sense of humor. I've been doing my best to get him to loosen up, though," he said with a grin.

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 19th, 2002, 10:24:37 PM
Diego paused, frozen in a moment, his eyes locked with Navaria's.

"Navaria Tarkin. A pleasure to meet you."

He nodded to her, blue eyes seemingly piercing her soul.

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 19th, 2002, 10:29:56 PM
"A pleasure you to meet you as well, Diego."

She replied, smiling warmly, even under the his gaze. Her own eyes only reflected a softness.

Salemn Lysce
Sep 19th, 2002, 10:36:47 PM
< Uhm .. Congratulations, Hunk ! >

Salemn stepped up from behind the newly promoted Knight, looking at Navaria then at Diego, hoping she wasn't interrupting anything.

< It's a well deserved title .. >

She smiled at him and ran her fingers through her hair whilst beginning to walk away. It was always a joyous event when one rose in so much knowledge of the Force that their status was risen.

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 19th, 2002, 10:37:56 PM
His attention was fully detatched from Hunk now, finding something far more intriguing for him to pursue.

"So you trained Hunk? He must be quite honored."

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 20th, 2002, 10:14:41 AM
She watched Salemn leave and then returned to her little gathering.

"Well, I would like to think the honor was mine."

Navaria flashed Hunk a smile.

"I enjoyed teaching him."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 01:07:25 PM
"Thats a very modest thing to say, from somebody so beautiful. Quite an oxymoron."

He allowed a small, civil smile.

"And what else do you do, when you are not harrangued by an endless line of eager trainees?"

Hunk
Sep 20th, 2002, 03:21:57 PM
He heard the voice with his mind, not with his ears. He was a bit surprised that someone would be using their telepathic powers in a social situation, like this. Momentarily forgotten by Navaria and Diego, he turned, trying to find the source of the telepathic message.

He turned and saw no one. Confused, he turned again and found himself face-to face with a young woman, running her hand through her long, blonde hair. He knew he had seen her before, but her name escaped him. In that brief moment of hesitation she turned and began to leave

"Wait," he said, placing his hand on her arm, "Unfortunately, I don't believe I've ever caught your name. Though, apparently, you know mine. I'm flattered, to be sure," he continued, hoping to put her at ease with a smile.

Salemn Lysce
Sep 20th, 2002, 04:30:40 PM
She was beginning to depart when he placed a hand on her arm, deterring her.

< I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, then. The name is Salemn, and I believe that I am now one of your fellow Knights at the Order. >

His smile was reassuring, although she had no reason to be "afraid" or nervous, at the least.

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 04:42:43 PM
"STOP IT!"

Diego's face was locked in a grimace as he looked at Salemn. His hands pressed against his temples as he tried to ignore the buzzing in his head.

Hunk
Sep 20th, 2002, 05:12:33 PM
He had been about to comment on the woman's use of telepathy when Diego's outburst drew his attention.

"whoa, Take it easy, Slim. You need to get a few drinks in you, relax a little."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 05:23:11 PM
Diego's hand was quick, grasping Hunk by the collar as he pressed him against the wall. Through gritted teeth, Diego spoke, eyes closed.

"You don't understand....she has to stop, now!"

Salemn Lysce
Sep 20th, 2002, 05:35:07 PM
Salemn's head snapped towards Diego when he yelled out, realizing he was directing it towards her. A look of confusion flickered across her face when she realized that he meant the way she conversed with Hunk.

Taking a step back, she didn't try to "speak anymore", and broke her gaze away from the man.

Hunk
Sep 20th, 2002, 07:23:19 PM
"No, you don't understand, you have to settle down," he said, reaching up to remove Diego's hands from their precarious position near his neck.

"I swear, you are the most high strung person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting," he continued, never losing the friendly smile. "There, now you see, the gir's stopped, you ok now?"

He glanced over at Salemn with a reassuring gaze, as if to apologize for the other's actions.

"Now, how about that drink? Have some champagne, it's a celebration, after all."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 07:28:10 PM
Diego paused, letting out a long breath, and wiping away a sheen of sweat. Taking a moment to console himself, he backed away from Hunk.

"You take the Force for granted." He finally spoke. "It is dangerous...around me."

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:01:17 PM
Diego's reaction to the Force in use around him was a puzzling one to Navaria.

"Hunk, perhaps you and Salemn can continue your conversation at the bar counter?"

She threw both of them a consoling look, smiling as she stepped between Diego and Hunk. A look of concern flash within her eyes as she searched his own for an answer to this strange occurrence.

"Why is that so, Diego?"

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:11:51 PM
He sighed, scratching at stubble.

"I'd....rather not....discuss it."

His nostrils flared slightly, and he arched an eyebrow.

"Alcorian vanilla spritz? With aloe?"

He smiled, attempting to change the subject to something more...comfortable.

"Good choice."

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:25:06 PM
"I am sorry. I meant no..."

She quirked a brow and chuckled.

"How did you know?"

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:32:07 PM
His smile broadened.

"Its my business to know. Anyways...I apologize for the scene here. I just...well...I'm not the most comfortable person around Force users."

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:35:28 PM
Her brows raised in amusement, but harmless amusement.

"Well, I am a Force user and you seem all right around me. Of course, I am not using my abilities and will refrain from doing so in your presence."

She offered him a short, polite bow.

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:42:49 PM
"Thank you."

He nodded.

"It must seem a strange request...but you'll have to take my word for it."

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 20th, 2002, 08:47:52 PM
"It is no bother. Really. I do not wish any discomfort from those I am around, nor do I meddle with things that one does not wish to discuss."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 09:13:28 PM
"Can I buy you a drink?"

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 20th, 2002, 09:20:59 PM
She really didn't have anything to do ... for a change. It seemed to be a curse when there were promotions at the Order. Navaria only enough time to congratulate the newest Knight and be off to do work.

If she stayed, Hunk and anyone else could talk to her if anything needed her attention. A night off would be nice.

"Very well. As long as it is a namana juice."

Also, she was curious about Diego. There was something different about him, besides his sensitivity to the Force. Navaria would keep her word and no infringe upon his spirit to understand him more through the Force. She will just have to do it the old fashioned way.

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 20th, 2002, 09:34:34 PM
"Of course."

Diego smiled, escorting Navaria to a seat. The serving droid arrived, and Diego placed Navaria's order, followed by his own.

"Jagermeister...and a clean glass, please."

Sending the droid away, Diego returned his attention to the Jedi.

"You're very selfless. It must require much of you to train so many."

OOC: Congrats Hunk hugs :) Go teach man lol

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 21st, 2002, 05:11:18 PM
OOC~ :lol Maia :lol

IC~ "Since when do you need to order a clean glass?"

Her nose scrunched up, confused.

"Is that not part of the order? Anyway ... Well, it does take a lot of time to train. But I love to teach. I learn about new beings, their lives, their struggles. With teaching, I give them a new strength to overcome obstacles physically and mentally. It provides an avenue, for myself, in helping others while teaching them the ways of the Jedi."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 21st, 2002, 09:24:14 PM
"Sorry...its a habit, I guess. I'm not used to restaurants."

Diego listened to her explain.

"It seems you're always there for your students when they need you. But is there someone who is likewise there for you? I imagine you can carry a heavy burden at times. "

OOC: Well I'm kinda lost about all whats happening this unusual party thread but Hey congrats Hunk! :)

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 29th, 2002, 06:38:18 PM
OOC~ Diego decided to have a chat with me for god knows what reason.. hence why I said we moved away from everyone else. Other people are welcomed to post but I thought the way I moved us away made sense. If not, my apologies.

IC~ "Oh. Okay."

She merely smiled at his explanation but then frowned, thinking about the personal nature of Diego's question. It wasn't in her nature to skirt around any questions put forth because she was a very open individual. It was just that the question had hit a nerve.

"Well, there is someone. Mostly. He is always called off planet a lot and I end up by myself. I do not mind. I knew what I was getting into."

Diego Van Derveld
Sep 29th, 2002, 06:52:15 PM
"And you trust him?"

Diego searched her eyes for any diversion or hesitation.

Navaria Tarkin
Sep 29th, 2002, 06:59:09 PM
"Yes."

She answered quickly.

"Of course. He has given me no reason to not trust him."

Diego Van Derveld
Oct 8th, 2002, 10:31:14 PM
"But no reason to affirm that trust?"

Diego pried upon a contrary venture.

Navaria Tarkin
Oct 9th, 2002, 04:24:41 PM
That statement had forced Navaria to really stop and think. The answer was really no, unfortunately. Sanis was always gone doing the Force knows what across the galaxy and Navaria hardly saw him. But when they were together, there was no doubt in her mind that he had ever broke the trust that was between them.

"His actions have shown me enough to not doubt him."

Her eyes narrowed as the droid set down the ordered drinks.

"Why are you asking?"

Diego Van Derveld
Oct 9th, 2002, 11:35:58 PM
"Because you hadn't stopped before to ask yourself."

He closed his eyes momentarily.

"I apologize if I have made you uncomfortable. I speak frankly, and at times, recklessly."

Navaria Tarkin
Oct 10th, 2002, 09:21:35 PM
"I do not mind talking about myself."

She tucked a strand of brown hair behind her ear, smiling down at her drink.

"It was just how direct you were with the question that took me a bit off-guard."

Diego Van Derveld
Oct 10th, 2002, 11:16:55 PM
"Beautiful women require direct men. Look around you, and see the way others see you."

He smiled in an uncomfortable way.

"You might say that you're a wanted woman. I hope this companion of yours is worthy of your affection. No doubt, there are suitors lined up to challenge him."

Navaria Tarkin
Oct 13th, 2002, 04:27:39 PM
"You must be kidding."

Navaria started to look around the room with much scrutiny.

"I have hardly notice any such thing directed at me. Granted, sometimes I am rather naive about how my friendliness comes across, being mistaken for for something of a more personal interest but ..."

As her eyes wandered, but without using her ability in the Force because of Diego, all she could rely on was intuition. Lust was evident in the eyes of drunks and the spacers that came through Arcan. Others held great respect for Navaria, which could be interpreted as respect for her beauty, station, or powers ... she could not ascertain.

Eventually her eyes led themselves back to Diego. The way he shifted in his seat told the Jedi he was uneasy about something... Then her eyebrows lifted up slowly in understanding. The direct questions he was asking, the drink he offered to buy ....

Diego was not only talking about the patrons in the bar, he was also talking about himself.

"You are too kind, Diego."

Diego Van Derveld
Oct 13th, 2002, 06:10:02 PM
"Am I kind? Or is my honesty incidentally pleasing? I with-hold my views on your religion. My honesty can be selective, same as my kindness. But there is also unsaid pragmatism. I cannot dissuade you from the Jedi no more than I can remove your feelings for your companion."

Again, a smile that was pleasing and passively unsettling.

Navaria Tarkin
Oct 14th, 2002, 08:19:02 PM
Now she was confused and her eyes betrayed that to Diego.

"What is it ... that you want. Now you speak in riddles almost."

Diego Van Derveld
Oct 22nd, 2002, 11:24:19 AM
"I want everything. Once you stop wanting, you become content, and you can be beaten, because you have lost desire.

What about you? Don't you wish your companion were more like you? Or that you were more like him? The differences can't be easy to cope with."

Navaria Tarkin
Oct 22nd, 2002, 09:36:51 PM
"No, they are not easy but that is what keeps things going. Our will to want it to work. Honestly, this is one of the hardest points of my life, being in love. We are not as close as he probably wants it to be but he is willing to wait and be patient."

She was waiting for Diego to say the obvious. How patient was Sanis? Navaria didn't know but where was the time for them to be close and alone? Sanis was always off-world and their time was few and far between. Especially with Navaria's work on the Council. Time was slipping away ....

Diego Van Derveld
Nov 4th, 2002, 12:13:37 AM
"You are willing to put your mutual desires on hold, for the sake of your obligations here?"

Navaria Tarkin
Nov 4th, 2002, 08:42:10 PM
"It is not really a choice. It rather just ... is."

Diego Van Derveld
Nov 4th, 2002, 10:01:48 PM
"And when it ceases to be....what do you do when your glass menagerie crashes to the ground. You can't live two lives, Navaria Tarkin. It will only cause you to lose what little of each you have."

Navaria Tarkin
Nov 4th, 2002, 10:11:42 PM
"Then I will deal with it when it comes. I am not a quitter just because things are difficult."

Diego Van Derveld
Nov 4th, 2002, 10:46:37 PM
Diego paused. It seemed, they had finally reached an impasse. He smiled, the skin at the corner of his eyes tightening.

"I'm sure you're not."

He nodded, rising from his seat.

"Good day, Miss Tarkin. I hope you keep your sense of balance in the future."

Navaria Tarkin
Nov 5th, 2002, 09:15:33 PM
The debate was over.... oddly.

"Thank you. And I hope that you find whatever it is you are looking for."

One thing was certain, the conversation with Diego was an eye opener. She would have to speak with Sanis at the first opportunity....
