View Full Version : What do you call a sequel to Oceans 11?

I dont know, but we'll find out soon :)

Soderburgh has confirmed hes planning the sequel, and is in talks with the entire Eleven. Apparently set in Europe.

Only shame is the cool casting rumours wont be so impressive. I mean, the original nearly had Wahlberg, Douglas, WIllis, WIlson brothers, Coen brothers......and they still ended up with a top notch group :)

That's easy..."Ocean's 22". ;)

"What do you call a sequel to Oceans 11?"

This is a riddle right? My answer is "a bad idea." :)

:lol

I'm inclined to agree, despite the return of a very good cast... Oceans 11 was a good remake... I liked it, as I enjoyed the original... it has a happy and fulfilling ending... continuing the story further might seem forced and trite.

Oceans 11 1/2, as one has a kid :)

If the script is good, I think its good.

A sequel to the remake or original? If it has the remake cast (since the original is all dead I think) it could work.

Oceans Eleven 2: How to Spend 150 million Dollars.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel, but wouldn't expect to see much different from the first one.

Unrelated, but I love that signature CMJ.

The Rock is one of my favorite action movies, top 30 or so anyway, I just really enjoy that film. The music is fantastic, I think one of the best maybe 25 overall scores I have heard, and the movie is just super exciting.

That reminds me, I really want to buy the Criterion Edition of that DVD, but I already got the original and I just hate doing that. GRR, I did that with The Sixth Sense and with Terminator 2, but that's because in the case of TSS, I got the special edition one for $13.88 brand new, pretty awesome deal.

Thanks Jonathan.... :D

BUT as I told Reaper, don't get too attached...I constantly change. So many great film quotes to choose from. :)

yeah do love changing them :) as far as Oceans 11 sequel, I don't know I agree with Figrin, it might seem forced, it isn't neccessary, I mean it could work but I don't know, have to wait and see what happens.

Then again, a sequel to Oceans 11 seems a lot more plausible than a sequel to the MATRIX

:x :x :x :x

Well I am not saying the movie will suck. After all I loved the remake here, so it could be good, but sometimes I just think, hey, risk isn't worth it, leave the poor movie alone...

The Matrix is perfectly setup for sequels and prequels, IMO.

Ocean's 11 part 2: If your girlfriend did not pay you attention on the first one, wait till she sees this one...

Crap she had Clooney, Damon, and Pitt in one screen at the same time!, no wonder the day I bought the DVD she came home and saw it twice!

No it isn't! At the end of the Matrix...Keanu is essentially CyberGod. There's not much more you can do there!

Oceans 11= the drool :D :mneh I love it!

*smacks Charley around* He is, but there isn't all that much he can do to LIBERATE ALL OF MANKIND! Can you imagine the space they'd need to support and care for 6 billion people the way they took care of HIM when he got out of the Matrix???? Sure he can survive agents, but there are a lot of loose ends. Can the real world still be saved? WHat about Zion!? Stoopid you are if this you cannot see.

I simply don't care.

JonathanLB

That is your problem, then. If you don't care, then you can stay out of theaters when the ENTIRE REST OF THE WORLD is in line to see The Matrix 2 and 3, lol.

Now for us normal moviegoers who are smart enough to realize that there is PLENTY more to explore with this idea presented in The Matrix, we will all enjoy seeing how the story unfolds, as it was never complete. You sound like someone in 1979 saying, "I cannot even believe they are making The Empire Strikes Back! I mean, at the end of ANH, Luke is basically the hero of the whole galaxy! Nobody can beat him! The good guys already won, the Death Star has been destroyed, and anyway, who cares what happens after that? That was the whole story!" LOL, gawd. History repeating itself :)

Actually, a fair number I know said the flying thing stops anything good being explored :)

I mean come on, the guy cant die. He can fly. He can destroy agents.

So far, the sequel has A bad name, some bad guy that look like men with dreadlocks in Talcum Powder, Keanu fighting many of the same person, sword fighting and a sex scene. If it wasnt for the fact theyll ruin it all with the camera work, it might be watchable. But Im expecting something worse than the original.
