Tempist the Uncaring
Sep 17th, 2002, 02:02:49 PM
A tall shroud stood infront of the gates of Bast, with a long cloak trailing behind him. As destructive as the land was, and as ominous as the keep had been, the man seemed to fit right in, almost as part of the secenery.

Vjun was unlike any other planet he'd ever seen, creating death, a constant repellant from most pests. This was one pest who wouldn't leave. The tall man shouted up to the gate keeper, without any hint of any feeling in his voice.

"I request to speak to Lady Loraan."

Although several membrers of The Black Hand had encountered this man before, none would physicly recodnise him. Those that had encountered him in a more violent manner would emediatley recodnise his force signature though; Rogue Sith Tempist Opps was a rather unique character.

A woman walked up behind him and knocked on the gate. She looked at him, frowned, and then slipped inside as the door swung just wide enough for her to squeeze past. The doors shut again, leaving Tempist alone once more.

Taja was humming quietly to herself, one foot tapping in time with the music, when she heard her name being called. The castle was so isolated and silent that even from where she was sat - in what was perhaps Bast's highest tower - the man's words could be understood clearly. Nose scrunching up, she raised herself on her knees and peered out the only window.

Ah. Tempist Opps. Sith Knight. Standing at the gates.

A Sith on Vjun.

Well, he shouldn't be too surprised then that her sister by the Hand ignored his presence completely. Folding her arms on the narrow shelf, Taja rest her chin on her wrist and watched.

Tempist watched this woman pass by, and paid about as much attention to her as she did to him. He hated this place. He hated almost everyone here, with only one exception, and Taja seemed not to be present right now. He sensed her though, her force signature was strong enough for any who knew what they were looking for to feel her there. He decided to stay for another few minites, and if there were still no answer, he'd simply leave.

He wasn't wanted here, and he didn't really want to be here.

The door creaked open, and De'Ville looked out. "I cannot help you with the location of Loraan, as it is her business alone. But, if there is anything else I can assist you with, please, let me know." Sarcasm tinged the last sentance, but not too heavily.

Maybe it was his imagination.

De'Ville slipped outside again, and the doors closed behind her. The woman leaned against the doors, awaiting a response from the Dark sider.

Slayn Cloak

This fool believed he was so different, he was fae folk. This indeed made primitive forms of identification hard, but Slayn knew all to well who he was...

Stepping out from a shadow, one that had been a doorway for him before; He addressed the man. Slayn was nowhere to be seen at first for in fact he was deep within the holdings of Bast. He had made his way to the gate traveling through the darkness and now emerged not much more than a meter away from Lady De'ville.

"Whatever it is you think you're doing here, She has no need of you."

Slayn's words pierced the mind of the mystic, bring an eructation with it, the very thing that gave Sith their great power. Much like a child feeding off the fit of angst.

" However if you feel it so necessary; I'm sure residence in one of our many cells can be provided. Perhaps one of the pendulum variety that hang outside the walls, the rain is quiet refreshing?"

Slayn simply stood their the tenebrous ink flowing behind him. Tempist wouldn't strike him, nor take well to his threat...

The Sith shook his head slightly at the woman's words, not needing assistance of any kind. He seldom did, he'd gathered enough experiance to deal with 'most anything.

"No, thank you."

He knew she wasn't entirely serious, but he honastly didn't care. People could treat him however they wanted, it didn't matter one way or the other to him anymore, hadn't for a long time. He then replied to an old aquaintance of his, Slayn Cloak, in the same manner he'd been spoken to; through the force.

Be silent Slayn, I've no business to attend to with you at this time. I'm simply here to talk with an old friend.

Atleast the female grey-sider before him had been fairly curteous, the young Cloak had came off as nothing more than an infant, kicking for attention.

De'Ville felt the buzzing pressure on her mind, a sign that people were using telepathy near her. She frowned at no one in paticular, and looked up at the skies. A storm was brewing.

"If you do not want help, then there is nothing that can be done for you. If Loraan will not appear, then it seems you will rot outside our gates for waiting." She still lounged against the gates, but had edged away from Slayn a little.

Tempist said nothing at first, deciding to wait only a moment more for her. If she didn't respond to his request, then he would simply strike her from his short list of 'friends'. He knew she was around here somewhere, but it was her descision about revealing the location. Everyone is entitled to free will, this was her decision alone.

"Thanks anyway then."

True, the sky would open soon, and acidic rain would soon fall down upon him unless he got back to his ship soon. If Taja didn't come, then he would just leave.

After having heard the verbal exchange between those gathered by the entrance, Taja rolled her eyes and slowly rose to her feet, sighing exasperatedly. She had been sitting here for so long that the cold stone floor was actually starting to feel comfortable, and to have to walk now was a rather bothersome ordeal. Nonetheless, she paced (without hurry) toward the stairway leading to the lower levels.

A message echoed in the mind of her former comrade, but the channel left unguarded so Slayn - and De'Ville, were it possible - could easily eavesdrop if he so wished.

Coming, love.

Inwardly, Tempist smiled. He hadn't talked to Taja in a long time, and they had much catching up to do. He sensed somthing odd about Slayn, he seemed over defensive somehow. True, the greysider could just be having a temper tantrum, but Tempist didn't really care all that much. He shifted his weight from foot to foot, and continued waiting.

So what if she couldn't see him smirking? Taja felt it all the same. Quit smiling. You'll spoil your reputation.

Stepping outside the gates, she nodded to De'Ville in greeting. She knew very little of her Sister, but now was not the time for newly bridging these empty spaces. No ... this was when near-ancient bridges would be tried and tested for cracks and splinters, lost over time.

And few bridges were more aged than this. Fewer still were older than this Sith.

"What do you want, Tempist?" She leaned sideways against Slayn and canted her head in question.

"Just to converse, catch up on lost times. I think it's safe to say that much has happened in the period of time that has elapsed since we last spoke."

He also wanted to make sure that Taja was still a friend of his. He hadn't many left in the universe, and only one in TBH. To be alone in the universe is to have nothing at all, not even your soul.

"Well, you certainly picked a nice location for that," she scoffed, sticking her tongue out at Tempist playfully. Standing straight again, Taja moved away from Slayn and walked up to the Sith.

"You sure you want to do all that here? Now?" Her tone carried a slight hint of impatience. At least, that was what the other Dark Jedi present would hear: Tempist felt a slight nudge in his mind, indicating that he should leave. De'Ville had been more than hospitable so far, and Slayn... well, Slayn was Slayn. The Sith's invitation was liable to wear out at any moment, and Taja wasn't too keen on seeing her one-time ally beheaded.

He wasn't sure weather he'd rather stay here and talk, or satisfy her current request. He wasn't afraid of the dark jedi, and had nothing to hide from them. However, if he did stay, he'd probably wind up aggrivating Slayn, and a fight would break out... and Slayn would have the home court advantage.

"Perhaps not then. Have you any plans for tomorow afternoon?"

"No. Why, what did you have in mind?" she asked, looping her arm around his and leading him away from the gates of Bast, back towards his ship. The skies would be bleeding their acidic rains soon.

"I was thinking maybe we get somthing to drink, a few planets away from here. I know a small place with some very good tea and things. One of the better places to sit and talk."

Morphling, the ship he had 'obtained' from a smuggler a while back, wasn't too far from Bast. They should have enough time to get there before it started to rain.
