It wasnt an ordinary deep space exploration, the books would say different, but the books were altered. Corners had been cut, credits saved here, a little there, all till they added up till this point. Many had been involved, many pay offs, many outside sources contacted, far from Omerose, far far away in the deep inky blackness of space.
The sphere was tiny compared to the station, but in aisthetic beauty it blew the place out of the water. It resembled a plumbers nightmare, a large block of what seemed to be pipes and ducts. Albiet it wasnt built with the same business touch that most stations its size were, it was built for pourpose, and in a hurry.
"Are we in range of the station?"
"Yes Dave"
He grumbled to himself, his head programmer had some sense of humor...
"Begin docking procedures, alert the staff to prepare for my arrival, we have work to finish"
"Yes dave, should I activate the stations dampening feild Dave?"
"As soon as we dock, i dont want any undo complications"

[I]The block had many protrusions and indents to be able to dock many variety was designed for spherical vessels. It was an ugly assortment, but then again, it was a deepspace complex and not intended for sight...
