...I think it is time TBH made itself a name with the GJO. Their impending move from Arcan IV has given me a good idea for a group-to-group clash, but since I have class in twenty, I will have to elaborate on it another day.

Ogre, your note of caution is appreciated, but I think unnecessary. When I come up with something for the attack, it will be run by the appropriate parties before implementation.
And if its' the spreading of knowledge you're concerned about, I wouldn't worry there either. About half of us are members at GJO anyway and have access to the information directly, while the other half have the good sense not to go spilling information to everyone they know.

And I don’t think you completely understand where I am coming from. I’m not saying people here would use such information for any ill intent or even purposefully spread such information to others who shouldn’t know. I am just saying no matter how many members here share memberships with GJO or not. Posting private information posted in confidence from another group’s locked forum, is definitely something that can be called infiltration and often times can lead to serious trust issues. Just try to remember to keep information posted in a private forum in that private forum until the powers that be for any particular group classify it as non private. Infiltrations, losing trust, and bannings are not fun things, but it’s a rule that we have to keep a firm stance on else things spiral out of control. There can't be "exceptions".

You have a valid point.
Which is not to say I don't have one, but, regardless of my point's validity, I will attempt to keep in mind the timing of things I say regarding restricted information.
Though honestly, if anyone here finds my motives over an incident that questionable, they can say so at any time and I'll happily back off altogether.

Thank you. :)
good and thourough lines of communication are the best way to avoid infiltration problems. In this instance I f I had been you I would have pitched the idea to have TBH possibly involved in something to do with the move in Avalon first and then if accepted, mentioned it here.
Tis all I am getting at.
Evil Hobgoblin
Sep 11th, 2002, 09:42:27 PM
Regardless of infiltration issues, I would still have mentioned the idea here first, and I'll tell you why: I know this group's tendencies. If there is no support for a plan of action, it will die very quickly, and sometimes even if there is overwhelming support, the idea still might die, just more slowly as people lose interest. I would rather see how likely the idea is to survive and prosper before wasting GJO's time.
The only difference is that I would have mentioned even less in the way of details than I did, and done my planning a little differently.

Well. I am, of course, up for such a thing. And will remain so. I don't like things where interest dies out and avoid it myself as much as possible. None of my threads die out because I haven't been participating.
Good luck planning this shindig out, though!

Dammit, I'm the in-house juggler here! Off with yer head!
Or arm, or whatever.
Anyway... the idea in its simplest form is this: we attack GJO full on at Arcan IV.
The details:
1. We cover our identities and mask our Force signitures (if necessary, I can designate Hob to "muddy the Force" to prevent detection in that fashion) and at the end of the attack, leave a single token of circumstantial evidence that points to us.
2. We make use of some of Taylor's Balmorran military to help circumvent some local military forces and sow extra confusion.
3. We each pre-plan the attack out with designated roles: We have a small group of people to act as lures while one person, for instance, seeks out and destroys the city powerstation and another starts some fires near a local hospital.
4. The thread is basically a series of damaging hit-and-fades; if you encounter too stiff a resistance, pull back and draw those forces with you. Maybe someone else will be able to accomplish your objective later if you do.
5. If anyone has an idea they would like to accomplish as a kind of sub-plot to this that doesn't involve two characters they play meeting in battle, let us hear it.
6. I think it wise that anyone who plans to play a Black Hand character in this event restrict themselves to playing only on the Black Hand side. Similarly, anyone who wishes to play the side of the Jedi or Arcan defense should limit themselves to that role alone. Although some interesting interactions could be born in the situation, leaving those for another time and place will not only reduce confusion, but also give Hand members a nice, clear, focused target.**
**You obviously are free to do whatever you like anytime, anywhere and I am not saying you can't do that- but this could be a really good group effort that may work well if we each give TBH our all.
So what do you think? This framework is pretty simple, but the addition of individual agendas could throw a few interesting twists and turns into the mix.
Navaria Tarkin
Sep 16th, 2002, 09:59:48 AM
I for one will only play Dale in this otherwise >_< Get way too confusing. Unless, Slayn wants something to happen with navaria... but I will only restrict myself to one character since what Hob brings up makes perfect sense.
Besides, I want the Dale/Nav meeting to be planned out anyway :)
I like the loose fitting attack so I believe the first thing to do is to pick out objectives since I have no problems with what was said.

Nav: That's not entirely true. At his last known coordinates, Nup was associated with Meras, not TBH. Granted, it would spoil the sneak part of "sneak attack" to have his identity available, but since his fighting style is akin to that of a juggernaut, it could actually be handy to have him out in the middle of everything going nuts on people's rear ends.

I will, of course, be delighted to join in. There don't seem to be any Jedi roleplaying at the moment who would even recognize Shaed. Marcus would, but I don't know how his online situation is going. And Chase would... but of course we all know how that is going.
Regardless, this is one character that won't need Hobgoblin's "muddying", so feel free to assign him a target off by himself if need be - or watching another TBH member's back, off in the shadows.

Nav: My bad. Got confuzzled.
Now, let's work this out.
Targets of opportunity - volunteers:
Local power plant - Slayn
Local emergency services (police, hospitals, etc) - Vega and Nup.
Destroying local government buildings/officials - Nav and Zasz
Local military base - Taylor
Disrupting airspeeder traffic - Taylor
Disrupting/poisoning water supply - Jibrielle and LD
Robbing the local bank - Ebon
Anything else anyone can think of? Any volunteers for a particular task? It doesn't have to be one person per task- multiple people can go after the same thing, especially if it would be a difficult target like government buildings.
Edit: Is this it? Have we nailed down a part for everybody?
