The Saber Arena was saturated in a morning’s tranquility, and the dormant structure was completely empty, all except for one man, Ki Adi Kindo. The Jedi sat quietly upon the cold floor, meditating into the depths of the living Force. He awaited the arrival of a great Jedi Knight he was to spar with, Chance.

Kindo had met Chance previously in the Bar and Grill, but never had the pair trained with each other. This would be an amazing opportunity to improve upon their swordsman skills, something that was a necessity in the life of a Jedi.

Ki Adi sat serene and motionless, still peering into the Force, awaiting the soon arrival of the Jedi Knight.

A robed figure stiffled a yawn as it gazed out into the morning sunlight let through by the sunroofs of the Grounds. The black satin robe it wore matched a similar strip of cloth tied around it's eyes restricting the use of them.

As if he'd need them, or rather, he never could anymore.

By the term 'him' we refer to the Jedi Knight Chance. Blind striken during a suicide duel agaist a certain Darksider, Vega Van-Derveld, the Knight was forced to learn patience and sight without eyes.

The cloaked Jedi turned left at an intersection and pressed a clothed wrapped hand against the doors. Standing back as the door slid up to reveal a scorched but clean Saber Arena.

Another person sat in the middle of the Arena, one with the distinct aura of Ki Adi Kindo. Chance stepped into the dormatory and quickly strode over to the Padawan,

"Good Morning, Ki Adi Kindo!"

" Greetings Chance! I hope your day has been has wonderful has mine. "

The Jedi Padawan glanced around at the familiar structure, remembering all the training he had engaged in within the steel walls of the hollow complex.

His thoughts dwelled on many experiences he had there, such has his very first spar with Tomak Ohara or even his strenous group training with his fellow padawans. Whatever the case, day after day he was proud to undergo such laborious training, for in the depths of his heart he was growing, and that made him smile.

He turned his attention back towards the awaited Jedi Knight who had just arrived, for the present pair had training to attend to.

" Are you ready to begin? "

Chance

"Indeed it has," Chance replied also glancing around even though he could never enjoy the true sight anymore. His ears fluttered as sounds aided his reconization of the area; it was quiet, save for his own and Kindo's breathing.

Chance moved his left hand into the right side of his robes and withdrew a hilt with blue and chrome engravings apon it. The Knight transfered the weapon to his right hand and stood ready.

"Whenever you are."

Kindo imitated the actions of the Jedi Knight, extending his hand to grasp a shimmering hilt, one once owned by his beloved father. The Padawan lifted up the silvery handgrip before him, displaying the withdrawl of his weapon. Without delay, he ran his finger past the ignition switch, causing a saffron beam of light to emit from the steel hilt. While silently dictating the movement of the yellow blade, he awaited an assault from his opponent.

Chance gave a slight nod, running his own thumb over the ignition switch and grimly watching as the blade ignited in a flurry of ion sparks. The slatish blue beam hummed loudly as Chance moved it out to the right.

A moment of silence before the Knight took a half step back with his left foot and jumped forward using the force and the power generated by the right leg. Chance closed the distance between the two in a matter of heartbeats, Griever (the saber,) swung up in a wide arch at Kindo...

Kindo obstructed the accelerated offense, putting forth all his strength to fortify himself against the Knight's sapphire blade. In an apt motion, the Padawan twisted around towards his opponent's left, then casted his tawny saber accurately towards Chance's neck. Ki Adi was quite proud of his abilities, giving obvious proof that all his difficult training had paid off.

Chance had foresaw the attack aimed for his neck and instictivly ducked down closer to the floor while jumping left into Kindo with an extended elbow.

Withdrawing, the Knight backed away slowly his blade weaving back and forth in a loud humm..

Kindo absorbed the blow delivered by his combatant, retaliating with an expeditious and potent overhead strike.

Chance twirled right as Kindo's blade bore down on him, although missing the brunt of the offence the blade had clipped him in the forearm.

Blocking out the pain, Chance retailiated by nimbly jumping backwards and constructing a Force wall with his mind. Using the large wall for a shield, Chance drove it at Kindo before rushing forward and jumping up while pivoting his back to deliver a flipkick..

Kindo fell backwards onto the floor has he received the potent kick, only to leap back up upon his feet moments later. The Jedi struck down on Chance's saber, pinning it momentarily. With the quick extention of his palm, the Padawan delivered a Force push to his opponent, causing him to stumble backwards.

Chance stumbled backwards from the force push quite a distance before falling backwards and rolling back up in a crouch.

"Very Nice!" He commented with a sly grin. Dashing forward with a push, Chance gathered the air around him and begun to diflect the light by illusion.

To Kindo, Chance began to dissapear and by the time he reached the Padawan the Knight had dissapeared from sight.

In reality, Chance had just rushed forward then jumped to the right seeing if Kindo could use the force to sence his presence...

Within Kindo's mind something did not appear properly, it seemed something was misleading his keen sight. He quickly decided to shut his eyes, losing all vision of his surroundings. Though he had never done this before, he began feeling though the Force, lacking any sight whatsoever. Soon a familiar presence could be felt, and it seemed has if it was alongside him. He immediatly casted his sandy saber outwards to his right, hoping to startle his opponent.

Chance stepped back as Kindo's saber came striking out at him while sending his own saber crashing down ontop of it. Slideing his saber down and of Kindo's in a fury of sparks just aimed to keep the saber down for short time longer, Chance spun in a circle and dropped the illusion and struck out once again witht he saber..

Kindo defended himself against the strike, and with the sabers still locked in place, he squated down towards the surface. With an apt thrust of his legs, he sprung over his opponent, retaliating with a swift horizontal slash.

Chance, warned by the Force, blocked the attack coming from the air with relative ease. As Kindo landed, Chance darted in with a series of six quick fencing style jabs using his saber just like a rapier.

Though it was not moderate task defending himself against Chance's expeditious jabs, he managed to sustain an ongoing duel without any harmful contact from his opponent's saber. Along with parrying back and forth with the Knight, the Padawan struck down upon the contrasting blade, then quickly delivered a firm kick to Chance's cheek, stunning him momentarily.

Chance was indeed dazed for a second, but flowed with Kindo's kick and retaliated from the right with a round house to the Padawan's side.

Grinning, Chance jumped back a pace, disenaged the saber, and lept forward with a streight kick aimed for the chest..

The Padawan made an apt leap to his side, clearing himself from the potent force of the Knight's firm kick. He then leapt into the air, aiming to imitate his opponent's strong kick.

Chance pocketed his unignited saber in a fluient motion, then as the incoming kick from Kindo neared, Chance lepted up and caught the brunt of the kick with his ribs. Locking his arm around the lower part, Chance slammed his forearm down on Kindo's kneecap of the captured leg and pushed forward throwing the padawan backwards onto the floor.

Letting loose of the captured Leg, Chance jumped back a good five feet...

Kindo descended backwards, belting the ground with great force. The Jedi vaulted up on his heels, regaining his sturdy balance upon the surface. He slowly strolled over towards his opponent, and bowed out of great respect for the skillful Knight.

" It has been great sparring with you, for I am fortunate to have trained with one has tactful has you, indeed I have learned something. "

Chance

Chance returned the bow, smiling faintly.

"I am glad that you've learned from this experience, I have also and would enjoy doing it again sometime!" the Blind Knight spoke, readjusting the satin cloth over his eyes. Indeed Kindo was a well trained fighter, as well was Chance himself, and would most likely make a good defender if the time presented itself...
